Dji mini 3 with option to film in cinema mode
r/dji • Budget Drone recommendation? ->I'm a videographer as well. One of the problems with DJI drones is that they typically shoot in delivery formats like H.264/5. From what I'm finding, you have to get into something like a Mavic Pro/Cine (not classic) or an Inspire in order to shoot in a recording format (pro-res, log, raw.) The "4k" on their cheaper drones is significantly worse than iphone footage. I tried grading some Mini 3 "4k" and anything out of \~ IRE 300-600 just instantly broke. Both of these drones "can" be found used for around $2,000 or so. Just beware that any drone shipped in from out of country will sit in customs for several weeks and may not even be delivered at all. It's best to buy used from the U.S. or to find a retailer inside the U.S. with stock on shelves.
r/drones • Drone Buying Advice Megathread and NEW Wiki Buying Guide ->Damn alright. Didn't know the mini 4 could fly 45 mins. Currently using the mini 3 and get around 30 mins so 55 would be almost double lol
r/dji • DJI Mini 5 Pro first look ->Get what ever is the cheapest mini series drone you can find. Depends on the time or you local second hand market, this can be mini 1, mini 2, 2SE, or mini 4K. At sub $300, you always get a full size controller, and long range FPV stream and fully gimbaled camera, perfect for practicing your skills. I would say the early version camera isn't the best, and you will notice it. If you really want good video, spring for mini 3 I guess
r/dji • Which DJI drone would you suggest for beginners? ->I just got the Mini 3. Now i feel my drone is decades old...
r/dji • Its out! ->ni 3 refurbished is the way to go or if you put in more time you can find a mini 3 pro bundle on Facebook market i even saw an air2s bundle with alot of extras for 500 and sometimes even mini 4 pros are there for that price range but all those will most likely take you more time to find, or not if you get lucky

DJI anything is more or less the answer. They have their quirks, but everything else comes with less support and more caveats. If you're just starting out, a Mini is perfect.
r/drone_photography • Photography lovers, what's the best drone with camera you've used? ->So how different will it be to mine? I'm satisfied with my mini 3
r/dji • DJI Mini 5 Pro first look ->Yeah i see you all good. You can always go for the mini 3, because it wont dissapoint you! And later on you can always go deeper into the drone world, and maybe try out even some avata 2 :P ! Take care though!! and watch some youtube videos otherwise still :) !
r/dji • What drone should I get? ->I started a a mini 3 and flew it into the ocean. $1000 gone. Get something less nice than that lol
r/dji • View on Reddit →If you're going with mini series the Mini 3, 4k or the 2 SE (depending on camera quality you want) should be perfectly fine for you over the ocean there isn't much you need obstacle avoidance for imo, just birds which the sensors can't really help with. However, since you're worried about wind, you may find the Air 3s better suited high wind speeds, unfortunately that is also more expensive than the Mini 4 Pro
r/dji • View on Reddit →Literally just bought a DJI mini 3 from their Amazon store a few days ago. You gotta stay on it and watch when it's back in stock, and DJI is selling through an authorized dealer for the time being but I got it today and it was brand new and straight from their factory.
r/drones • View on Reddit →Mini 3 fly more combo. Will set you back 600 bucs but you do get a smart controller with it and 3 batteries
r/dji • View on Reddit →It depends where you are coming from. Own three DJI drones which each have a unique purpose. If had none, would probably decide between the Flip and Mini. But for those who already have a DJI there's no real selling point to get this
r/dji • View on Reddit →I just got the mini 3 and love it. First dji, and really easy. Takes really nice video and pictures.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Dji drones are super easy to fly. But yeah, the fact that you might get bored and not fly enough you can't really do anything about it. I'd recommend something cheaper like mini 3, cost much less, flies just as good, just doesn't have sensors and camera not as good, and signal, but most people apparently fly very close, so not an issue.
r/drones • View on Reddit →I got the Mini 3 last month and absolutely love it. Definitely jump on it while it's on sale today and tomorrow through Amazon (in the US at least). I actually bought the Mini 4K first and promptly returned it for the Mini 3 a week later. The Mini 3 is just so much better and worth the slight price difference. Initially chose the Mini 4K first as I was new to drones and wasn't sure how much I'd like it. After getting the Mini 4K I quickly realized how much I like the drone and how I wanted a better drone after my first real flight. The Mini 3 in comparison has modestly better low light performance with the 1/1.3 sensor compared to 1/2.3 of the Mini 4K, shoots in HDR, and has the ability to get true vertical shooting. A really nice feature I didn't know I wanted until I got the Mini 4K. The Mini 3 also has that newer design and doesn't look outdated like the Mini 4K/Mini 2 design does (not that it really matters), but another plus is Mini 3 batteries also work in the Mini 3 Pro/4 Pro if you ever decide to upgrade. Mini 4K batteries won't. Overall I'm extremely happy with the Mini 3 as a first real drone.
r/dji • View on Reddit →For photos and video shots like those in TV documentary, get a fly more combo of the DJI Mini series - be it a 4k, a 3, a 3 pro, a 4 Pro - you'll get what you pay for. For beginner friendly low flying fpv action, get a Neo Motion Fly More Combo as the Avata 2 Fly More Combo is out of the budget. If he will be spending a lot of time with this new hobby, a real fpv drone might be the way to go. But prepare him to spend some hours with simulators before he takes off.
r/Multicopter • View on Reddit →If all you need is a drone to check on your roof or gutter, the cheapest DJI Neo would be able to do it. You can use it with the RC2 remote which has an integrated screen (separate purchase). Your next choice would be a DJI mini 3 or 4K. You can save money by buying them used off FB marketplace or eBay.
r/drones • View on Reddit →Same here. The Mini 3 is a fine drone if you don't need obstacle avoidance. Very good value for money. :-)
r/dji • View on Reddit →Thats for sure just a normal dji drone. They can transmit easily up to 10km with flighttimes around 20-30minutes. The camera angle are typical for a "non professional" pilot. For example: DJI Mini 3 DJI Mavic Air 2s , 3 pro, 4 pro etc... A custom built fpv drones like i fly them, could reach even more distance. some people are using fpv videotransmitting systems on fixed wings. (basically a littel airplane) with an analog ground station its easily possible to reach distances of 40km+ Always funny to see the "drone over the airports" news XD they are having normal signal lights. Guess what. you could start your dji drone 5-10km away from the airport and fly to it. Yes they normally have geofencing, but even for dji drones their are "hacked" firmwares out there. The ukraine and russia are using modified firmwares. They use normal dji drones as mavic 3-4 pro for scouting and custom built fpv drones for throwing the bombs or kamize drones. And someone in the comments mentioned already, there are aswell LTE modules nowadays. In theory with that you can fly unlimited distances as long as you stay close to modern civilsation with LTE antennas. There is a fixed wing video on youtube doing a 100km round trip with LTE from one island to another. Not going to post it, due i don't want to "expose" the other pilot, because this kind of flights from private persons are not permitted at all most of the times. And here is an example from DJI LTE-module: [https://store.dji.com/hu/product/dji-cellular-dongle-lte-usb-modem?vid=112071&set\_region=HU&from=site-nav&\_gl=1%2A1e4l7b6%2A\_up%2AMQ..%2A\_ga%2AMTMyNTYxOTI1Mi4xNzYwNzgzMDQ0%2A\_ga\_HXRDE344GS%2AczE3NjA3ODMwNDMkbzEkZzAkdDE3NjA3ODMwNDMkajYwJGwwJGgw](https://store.dji.com/hu/product/dji-cellular-dongle-lte-usb-modem?vid=112071&set_region=HU&from=site-nav&_gl=1%2A1e4l7b6%2A_up%2AMQ..%2A_ga%2AMTMyNTYxOTI1Mi4xNzYwNzgzMDQ0%2A_ga_HXRDE344GS%2AczE3NjA3ODMwNDMkbzEkZzAkdDE3NjA3ODMwNDMkajYwJGwwJGgw) # GEO-Fencing dji since 2025: DJI has removed its geofencing software that automatically prevented drone flights in restricted areas, such as near airports and prisons. As of early 2025, the DJI app will now only display warnings for these zones, which pilots can bypass. Therefore, to avoid geofencing, no action is needed because the system is no longer a restriction; however, users are solely responsible for knowing and following all airspace rules and regulations. How to fly now * **Be aware of restrictions:** Understand that even though the drone will not be blocked, you are responsible for knowing and following all airspace restrictions, such as those around airports, military bases, and government buildings. * **Follow the warnings:** The app will still provide warnings when you are near a restricted area, but these warnings can be dismissed, and the drone will be able to take off. * **Prioritize safety and legality:** It is crucial to avoid flying in restricted areas to comply with local laws and ensure safety, even if the geofencing system has been removed.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Just got a mini 3 fly more combo with good controller off Amazon for $90 off - $629 Looks like it's back to $719
r/drones • View on Reddit →The least expensive way to do it is to just hire a Pilot. You can find someone on [Droners.io](http://Droners.io) that will do it for $200, or less. Otherwise get a Mini 3 and Litchi Pilot. You can download the APK for Android below. r/UAVmapping • View on Reddit →As a user of mini 3 for 2 years i truly recommend mini3 pro for beginners. I dont know what extras have mini4 pro. I did not have budget for mini3 pro. You get a lot for the money and there is so much to learn: how to fly, how to shoot, settings, how to edit, how to export how to post... there is a LOT and you should be ready for the parts that also does not bring pleasure. But is a learning curve which you bend based on your time and desire. Halpy travels!!
r/drones • View on Reddit →If you don't even know if you'll like it. Image quality is good already, you won't be disappointed unless you do some professional work, but you don't. Check video footage samples. Main differences in price is sensors, better range and camera.
r/drones • View on Reddit →https://www.youtube.com/@Droneman-g33 I have the mini 3 it's not a bad machine Check out my channel And please subscribe if you like maybe The help would go along way Thanks And all the best on drone life
r/drone_photography • View on Reddit →> but there's some features I want I'm not sure what features you're looking for, but I was able to add some features I was looking for with my Mini 3 with Drone Link. Litchi may be another option.
r/dji • View on Reddit →It all depends on what your idea of "affordable" is and what features you consider important. Yes, you're going to give up features and quality on cheaper drones, that's the way it works. The question is what trade offs work best for you. There have been a few deals recently for the Mini 3 at $200. That's a great price for a great drone. But if you're interested in commercial applications it likely benefits you to spend more.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Yeah it all depends on your use case. 🙂 Personally I barely ever use obstacle avoidance (even with my air 3s), flying in the dark isn't allowed where I live so low light performance isn't a factor, and I don't care much for tracking either. The Mini 3 in most respects suits my needs.
r/dji • View on Reddit →As a starter drone, yeah. I'd shop around and see if anyone is selling the older Minis too. Use the extra money to buy more batteries. For example, I found the Mini 3 fly more combo for just over 500 USD on Canadian Amazon.
r/djimavic • View on Reddit →Mini Pro 4 if you have the cash. It's a phenomenal drone. Otherwise look the Mini 3 Pro. The Mini 2 doesn't support Remote ID. You'd have to get an external module. The Mini 3 and Mini 4 both include Remote ID standard.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Mini 3 is a great drone for most people. I just bought one a few months ago although I wish I had just bought a M4P or Air3s. I bought it for recreational use, but there's some features I want and my boy has me interested in Fpv drones now. Now my issue is if I want to buy a Mavic3pro, Air3s as I'm a map nerd and modeling guy or get into FPV drones for fun
r/dji • View on Reddit →Honestly the mini 4k is a good little entry level drone. It's cheap, fun, and it works. Really, the drones between the mini 4k and the mini 5 aren't big enough jumps for the price difference. The mini 3 is better than the mini 4k, but not *that* much better. The mini 4 is better, but then you might as well spend a few hundred more on the mini 5. There are other drones between that, like the Air 3s, that are a decent middle ground. But if you're going to spend over $1k, why not just go to the mini 5. That's just my opinion though.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Having done the same research quite recently, I'd say all the DJI Minis are good for beginners. Therefore I'd suggest aiming for the best compromise between the price you're ready to put (don't forget to include DJI care) and the features you need. For example in my case I just wanted to have 4k and the possibility of shooting in portrait mode therefore I chose the Mini 3. I'd also recommend checking any second-hand marketplace if there's a good deal coming.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I have personally bought the DJI Mini 3 for €379 and think it's the perfect beginner drone, I'm totally happy with it. It shoots 4k (although not really HDR), is small and lightweight, and with one spare battery and an amazon box you're done for around €500. The Mini 4 pro will cost about twice that much, and I think the HDR is great, compared with footage I see on YouTube.
r/Multicopter • View on Reddit →Watch local classifieds for a used dji mini. They have good corrective flying stabilization. I got a mini 3 with 2 hrs flight time for $200. Then I also got a cheap nano drone off Amazon for $30. So I can crash that one whenever I want! 😂
r/drones • View on Reddit →My first reaction is start with the Mini 3 and then go from there. If it's new I always recommend getting the DJI care to cover you. But one thing I wanted to point out is the Mini 3 has no active tracking so if you were interested in an autonomous tracking of a vehicle or yourself etc. you won't have that feature. I have the Neo and M4P (had Mini 3 and M3P) I love the Neo and was going to get the Flip instead of the M4P but I decided I wanted the better wind resistance and a quieter drone.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I have the mini 3 it's not bad Check my videos If u like maybe subscribe All the best Good luck https://www.youtube.com/@Droneman-g33
r/drone_photography • View on Reddit →Until you've flown a DJI...you haven't flown. Get a Mini. Any generation. That's where you start.
r/drones • View on Reddit →Same here. Owned both. Sold the m4k. M4k is a mini 2 with a new camera. Mini 3 is a much better drone. More than enough for casual/ hobby use. Mini 5 is a better drone but has a higher price. I'll stick with the mini 3
r/dji • View on Reddit →ni 3 refurbished is the way to go or if you put in more time you can find a mini 3 pro bundle on Facebook market i even saw an air2s bundle with alot of extras for 500 and sometimes even mini 4 pros are there for that price range but all those will most likely take you more time to find, or not if you get lucky
r/dji • View on Reddit →Flip isn't FPV, it won't connect to goggles. Mini 3 won't connect to goggles either. Even the Mini 3 Pro, if you could get it connected to goggles won't fly in Manual mode. The Neo is a bit underpowered for anything but cinematic flight and very light freestyle. The Avata 2 is a somewhat more rounded quad, but still mostly a cinematic quad. If you are wanting to fly freestyle, buy a controller (Radiomaster Boxer or Radiomaster Pocket) and start following along with Bardwell's "learn how to fly FPV series". Spend a month doing that and watching other Bardwell videos while you figure out what video system and kind of quad you want to fly. I'd suggest starting with something small like a BetaFPV Meteor 75.
r/fpv • View on Reddit →I'd say get the mini 3 fly more combo - not as expensive as the 3 pro and you will get 2 extra batteries , carry case charging hub etc. that will be more fun than a 3 pro with only one battery
r/dji • View on Reddit →If you want something good and not care about price get the mavic but if you do care about price then get the dji mini 3 or 4 pro remember to ALWAYS do the training flight simulater when you buy a new drone you will need to
r/dji • View on Reddit →Is there a drone available in Ontario, Canada that doesn't require non stop login and verification? I had a DJI mini 3 which was great for what I need (keeping tabs on 60 acre farm) but the non stop login issues got really old. Switching to Chinese, not recognizing login etc.. Is there a drone that just connects to the controller and doesn't require all the login shenanigans. It was great for about 6 months and then required logging in password resets every time I used it
r/drones • View on Reddit →Hey, although the DJI Mini 2 and mini 4K are advertised as 4k, the quality is really not that good. I would recommend you buy a DJI Mini 3
r/dji • View on Reddit →At that price you are better of buying a dji mini 4k or dji mini 3
r/drones • View on Reddit →I picked up two mini 3's with each controller. Best beginner drones, just always pay attention to the drone. I walked into mine today.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Hi, imo the mini 3 is the best beginner drone if you care about quality since the sensor is the same as the 4 pro, main differences are no obstacle avoidance and I believe it's better you don't have it as a beginner since it trains your spacial awareness.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Depends on your definition of "cheap". I'm learning right now on a DJI Mini 3 + remote I just got for $200 on Woot. Maybe I'll get something more expensive eventually, maybe not, but it seems like a good place to start to me.
