For the outside shots, you want Drone with a mechanical shutter at this point that's the Mavic 3M or matrice enterprise. The matrice is higher res and has much more sophisticated software to facilitate 2D and 3-D mapping and flyovers and such for the interior shots you're gonna wanna lean towards possibly a flip or avata 2 which will give you great maneuverability inside and still work well without needing GPS which you will not have under the roof of the house

I agree with u/Own_Shine_5855; you need to tell us what you want to do in this hobby. If you want to fly a DJI Avata 2, then go for it. If you want to fly FPV freestyle, like many of the cool YouTube vids show, you will frequently crash. The time spent fixing crashes will dwarf the time doing the initial build , so if building once is prohibitively unpleasant, then it is likely that you'll find the hobby unpleasant since there will be a large amount of crashing. So tell us what has you interested in the hobby, and we can give you better advice about drones that will work for you, or if you just need to bite the bullet and gain some drone building skills. If the latter (e.g. you like the freestyle vids), don't despair; there are some great kits out there and excellent video tutorials that will walk you through every step.

I have this and a neo both in a small bag that also holds the motion control, FPV control and goggles as well as a 3 battery charger for both. It's so incredibly compact it's wonderful compared to my earlier drones. And not needing a phone at all and being able to share the controls across both drones is amazing.

I would reccomend the Avata 2 than! BUT Check some youtube vids first!! because the Avata 2 is not really beginner friendly, but than again... its way more fun and ALOT more fun to watch movies from you created with it... But yeah first, watch some youtube clips about The avata 2, or the other drones like mini 4 pro. You cant go wrong with a mini 4 pro though !

''nausea and vertigo from VR headsets.'' me to i get heavy sick from PC vr headsets!! but with the Avata I DONT. That was also something i was scarred about, but i tried it and i wont get sick from that headset. I also have a mini 3 pro ! they are great! and camera wise extremly good!! Easy to use to! You just need to watch out when flying sideways (you can crash into things), otherwise its very easy. I would not recommend the NEO. So if you ask me is the mini 3 a good deal? yeah it is! Like i said i got the pro version. But i THINK the pro version comes only with some more sensors (for following, tracking and obstacle avoidance). But you have to check that one out if the camera is the same. The NEO has worse camera though! I got the controller were you need to use the phone. That works great, but if you can i would suggest go with the inscreen build one. Sorry for my bad english though :)!

As most others have said the Neo 2 is a more VERSATILE drone for a beginner... Here's why - you mentioned you want a drone for casual and general use, that's the neo 2 - it's first and foremost a traditional drone with a gimbal and flight stabilization , that's Avata series is not it's an fpv drone . - it has good tracking which is awesome especially for capturing action sports - pair it with a rc and you now have basically a pretty functional classic cinematic DJI drone. The biggest difference is Avata is really more about getting that FPv (flying inside) experience which is certainly fun, but not very cinematic since it's more About adding specific shots like (chase scenes , cliff dives, low flying ridge shots) , most creators that have avata also have other DJI drones, and use Avata for special scenes.. So if your on a family vacation it's like 30s to pull out your neo 2 , get in the air take an orbit or selfie photo of your group ,all done , you would likely still be booting up Avata and it's Fpv goggles... Avata is like having a sports car, lots of fun on the weekends in a twisty road, but Neo2 is like having a daily driver way more practical for most use cases.

Hey guys, I have an Avata 2 and I'm planning to purchase an Air 3s. I'd like to step into the Real Estate media world to make some profit from what I like most. My question is can I use the Goggles 3 with Air 3s? I know the A3 is compatible but can't find useful info about A3s. If it compatible with what controller? Thanks a bunch.

Custom freestyle quad with AvionRC IKON 2.5 frame and DJI air unit O4 Pro. So much fun in such a small package and easy enough to repair when crashed. My second drone is an Avata 2. That one is also great fun for smoot cinematic flight with the head tracking and the motion controller.

I'm unsure about the Neo 2, but the original Neo is freakishly durable as compared to the Avata 2. I've bounced mine off concrete walls, trees, and similar at top speed at least several dozen times (mostly while learning manual FPV mode) and I've only ever had to replace a prop and nudge the camera gimbal back into place within the frame. I've crashed my Avata 2 perhaps three times and it went back to DJI for repair one of them. Both are well-made, but the Neo simply doesn't have enough mass to cause itself damage. I'm convinced though, that DJI went out of their way to make the (original) Neo camera worse than they could have produced at the same price.

Personally, I'd go for the Neo 2. I was excited about the Flip until I found that there'd be no FPV support. The Neo (1 & 2) have great support for many control options. Also more durable than the Flip. And a bargain! Also, it's always worth keeping an eye on the official refurbished stock. I got my Avata 2 that way. Full combo for the price of drone-only.

Not to mention they I can't seem to be able to get the gymbal to move with the dedicated gymbal wheel on the motion 3 controller. It's waEssy to fly fpv. And the camera quality is brilliant. Just wish I could change the pitch of it mid flight 😭

Nice cameras. Docile flight that's easy to learn. Terrible ability to repair them if you crash. Opinion - You're better off learning on a simulator and building your own if you want to try FPV. Betaflight home built FPV is harder to fly. But once you build the skills, you can do things faster than Avata and repair the quad if you miss a gap. You're human. You are going to crash. Best to have a quad you can repair and keep going.

Yes, avata has bottom cameras that help with position hold and it's super stable even with zero satellites. No other brand is really interested in competing with dji in stabilized drones so dji is years ahead in this kind of flight modes

Hey, the answer is really dependent on your needs. As a hobbyist just getting into drones, you really should decide whether or not you want to go the FPV route or if you want to just send a consumer drone up to take pictures. If your answer is just take pictures and have some automated flight and video capture capabilities, I'd go w/ DJI consumer platform that best fits your budget and needs, while it's still available. assuming no audit will be performed triggering no new ccp drones come January. If you want to go the FPV route which I strongly urge you to do; although it's more involved you will have a lot more fun, and gain a lot more knowledge than your average consumer drone line user. I suggest starting with an analog tiny whoop, maybe until January when we know more about the fate of DJI in America. Purchase a radio transmitter first and learn to fly in a simulator. It will save you a lot of time and headache and potentially a lot of money in drone parts. You WILL crash a pretty good amount early on. Better to get it out of the way in a sim. Start learning how to build an fpv drone, what all the components do and how they communicate with your ground equipment (goggles and transmitter) You can get an fpv experience with DJI avata, but eventually you will probably crash that sucker eventually and there is no care refresh/ replacements in the USA anymore. I almost bought a DJI FPV when I first go into drones, I'm so happy I just learned to build instead.

I bought the Neo with the controller and N3 goggles and enjoyed using it very much. When the Neo 2 came out I considered it but went for the Avata 2 instead. I think the Avata 2 is close to perfect and it has way more power and battery life than the Neo or Neo 2. I found the N3 goggles and controller worked just fine too.

I think the stability of the avata 2 really plays a big role in getting it through tight spaces. I haven't had any issues flying it through normal sized door openings. The main issue I run into is the down draft blowing things off lol. Flying over dining room table and have to reset place settings before doing a second take. Or a throw on the corner of a bed getting messed up.

avata 2 has absolutely the best signal penetration of any commercial/hobby grade fpv drone, whoever told you otherwise was lying. It's also a good choice because once you become familiar with it, you can just grab yourself a betafpv meteor75 o4 or any other BNF and continue down the journey.

I started with the Geprc Darkstar with a dji o3. I love that thing but with the o3 the battery life was not the greatest with the gum stick batteries. I also have the cinelog 30 which is better but feels just as drafty as the Avata. I probably should have picked up a 20 or 2.5 but went the Avata route as the elevation was so steady compared a fully manual fpv drone. Even with me crashing fpv drones for 10+ years lol. I will say the Avata2 just feels like a cheat code even with it's larger size.

The impressive videos you see online of drones flying through expensive houses and through tight gaps are most likely using an Avata 2 with the FPV controller. Helps to have FPV goggles. A Neo will do it with goggles but footage will be more pro using an Avata 2.

Hard to answer. Fpv I have seen good ones custom made. If you like brand consistency I would say DJI with avata 2 FOR FPV perhaps... but not excellent in camera if you want videography. If you want quality in video I would say mavic 3 or wait a bit I heard mavic 4 is coming. The choice maybe depends on what you want the most while bit of sacrifices on the secondary usage. Curious to hear what others advice tho

Your iPhone won't overheat. If you're using the variant without the screen, the remote is doing all the heavy lifting and not stressing your antenna chips on the phone. Personally, I would recommend going with current gen drones, Mini 4, Air 3, Air 3S, Neo, Avata 2. If you go down a generation, the only drone I would recommend is the Air 2S, or Mini 4K. But their remotes are NOT compatible with any forward generation of drones. Tariffs, and price gouging is affecting drones across the board with imports being blocked, and you'll unfortunately have to suffice with third party if you live in the US as you will very unlikely clear customs with overseas import buying new. You'd have to Ebay, or use like Adorama. Air 3S is being scalped for 2K+ (supply & demand really), and Air 3 non S variants are still within reasonable prices including screened remote 1100-1400. Mini 4's is increasing in price significantly these last few weeks, floating around 1K+ $300 over MSRP. You won't be able to find a Mavic 3 Pro or Mavic 3 anywhere either, unless you just buy the drone itself.

Flip isn't FPV, it won't connect to goggles. Mini 3 won't connect to goggles either. Even the Mini 3 Pro, if you could get it connected to goggles won't fly in Manual mode. The Neo is a bit underpowered for anything but cinematic flight and very light freestyle. The Avata 2 is a somewhat more rounded quad, but still mostly a cinematic quad. If you are wanting to fly freestyle, buy a controller (Radiomaster Boxer or Radiomaster Pocket) and start following along with Bardwell's "learn how to fly FPV series". Spend a month doing that and watching other Bardwell videos while you figure out what video system and kind of quad you want to fly. I'd suggest starting with something small like a BetaFPV Meteor 75.

I wouldn't advise getting into the FPV hobby with the Avata, better to use a DJI Air Unit video system with another drone with better flight controller/escs than the Avata's. It's kind of like an entirely different hobby than DJI's mode of "aerial photography."
