Check out the DJI Flip fly more combo. It was released January 2025 so its new. It shoots 4k/60fps, flies for 31 minutes, has active track, can go 36 mph(which is pretty fast for a boat), and video transmission is 13km. You can also fly it without a controller. You just press a button, point it at yourself so it picks you up as a target, and then it takes off and follows you. You can also check out the Mini 4 Pro or Air 3s(this one is top notch)
r/drone_photography • Drone recommendations with auto tracking / auto follow ->I own multiples of both the Air 3S and Mini 4 Pro, and two Air 3 units as well. What do you intend to shoot? How do you intend to shoot it? What lighting/time of day? What output do you expect to use? What wind conditions? What class/weight done can you fly regularly? The Air 3S has FAR better obstacle avoidance in low light on its normal obstacle avoidance sensors vs the Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro, plus it also has front facing Lidar, which has also been impressively good. On top of that, the Air 3S has D-log-M at extended ISO ranges, which happen to be the same ISO range the Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro only have shitty 8bit 'night mode' that SUCKS. I was NEVER impressed by the 'low light' capabilities of the Mini 4 Pro and Air 3, nor their Obatacle Avoidance tech even in what i would consider to be 'good lighting', sunset/dusk is too dark, Air 3S the sensors are fine even when its darker than im comfortable flying. The Air 3S exceeded my expectations in low light, both in terms of obstacle avoidance sensors (which are about 10x more light sensitive than the Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro) as well as 10 bit D-log-M performance vs shitty 8-bit 'night mode' on the Air 3 and Mini 4 Pro. Lidar works with zero light up front. The Mini 4 Pro is great if its calm weather and bright enough outside. Air 3 and Air 3S are FAR FAR FAR more stable in wind or gusty situations. The Mini 4 Pro is also quite small and handy if youre after something compact; its a killer piece of kit that punches WAY above its weight for what it is. We keep a Mini 4 Pro or an Air 3 in deployment as 'risky shot' drones for client work, the footage in proper lighting is GREAT! That said, i'd go Air 3S over a Mini 4 Pro, but we use both cams and low light/wind resistance matters for us.
r/dji • My First Drone: DJI Air 3S vs. Mini 4 Pro ->I've used a mini pro and a mavic 3 but my favorite to shoot with is still my air3. The 3x zoom seem perfect fP those nice compressed shots while still shooting 4k 60 in all the tracking modes.
r/videography • Help me with my first drone please! ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

It does have better wind resistance indeed. I myself bought an air 3 for that reason so that would be a good argument for the Air 3.
r/dji • Please help me to find the right Drone ->Never flew one... I have the Air 3
r/dji • Please help me to find the right Drone ->Get a (used) Mini 4 Pro, or Air 3(S) to start and try - if you like it: Mavic 4 Pro
r/dji • Fairly new to drones, but a seasoned hobby photographer obsessed with getting the "perfect" shots/high quality images and videos- what DJI model would you recommend? ->I agree that an ND not necessarily needed for photography. I added a ND4 + CPL filter to my Air 3 as I like the polarization effect
r/dji • Fairly new to drones, but a seasoned hobby photographer obsessed with getting the "perfect" shots/high quality images and videos- what DJI model would you recommend? ->Registration in the US is so cheap and easy I don't see why it would even be a factor here. It's like $5 for 3 years and about as many minutes. I have a Neo and an air 3. I use the air 3 for photography because the cameras are great, it handles wind well, and it's a real fun machine to fly. I use the Neo hardly all, because the camera is worse than a 5 year old cell phone and the high pitched screech is very loud.
r/dji • Which dji drone should I buy? ->I put some master airscrew stealth ones on, and it did help a bit. Also made it a little more visible in the sky, which was a nice bonus. It always gives me a bit of a chuckle to see how much quieter (at least in terms of perceptiom) the air 3 is since it's huge by comparison. Makes sense with the props spinning more slowly, but it's interesting to see back to back
r/dji • Which dji drone should I buy? ->DJI is basically the only choice now, except maybe Autel Evo models that are somewhat older now, but they are included in the ban too! By the way, the ban won't affect actually the legality of buying and operating the drones, just importing and selling, so if you can buy one, you are good. The only issue is that warranty and support may be not available. I think a used DJI air 2s is a very good value. Extra refurb batteries are much cheaper than newer air3 batteries. However I have an air3 as well and love the zoom lens for some of my shots.
r/videography • Help me with my first drone please! ->I held off on the Mini 4 Pro & got the Air 3 instead keeping my Mini 3 Pro as a back up. I'll be retiring my Mini3P for this bad boy & when the Air 4 comes out hopefully with Dual 1" sensors I'll retire my Air 3. Very good things coming out from DJI to bad I gotta smuggle them into the US
r/dji • DJI Mini 5 Pro first look ->If you want to shoot urban I'd recommend the Mini 4 pro as it has O4 transmission. If you want anything bigger you will need special licenses depending on where you are country/state/city wise. For me in Texas I only need my 107 to do commercial or heavier drones. If you just want to make basic social media content the Neo is your best bet as well but with a controller / phone. The Mini 4k is a more basic mini 3 pro but still good.
r/dji • DJI Mini 5 Pro first look ->You just said you weren't tight on funds lol yeah man the newer & latest one is more expensive. Let the Mini 5 Pro drop and Mini 4 Pro sellers will saturate the market lowering the Mini 4 Pro overall price
r/dji • DJI Mini 5 Pro first look ->You are probably not going to find an all in one solution for this. The avata 2 (what I use) or a cinewhoop style is what you want for interior fly through. But these are not going to handle as well outside for photos, no bracketing options, etc. Outside photos/video I would be looking at the mini series or the air series. I run the avata 2 and an air 3. I was doing a fly through today, in from front door, through kitchen, to living, up to main bed out the balcony and down walkway to beach. As soon as I got to the outside towards the beach, the wind was strong, and the horizon had a heavy slant. It almost cut the the screen diagonally with the horizon. So, I also shot some video with the larger drone outside just in case.
r/fpv • Looking for Drone Recommendations for Real Estate Work ->While i don't care about brand loyalty as a air 3 owner let me say the obstacle avoidance with self tracking has gave me some of my favorite videos of me and my family. It has also saved me so many times. It's like a car with blind spot monitoring/ lane assist do you need it no? If you have it tho it's amazing.
r/drones • View on Reddit →I did the exact opposite. Started with drones and recently moved to photography. I would start with a mini 4 or an Air 3. I personally have the Air 3 and absolutely love it. Takes amazing videos and pictures, very stable and flies great.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Wouldn't go for "mini" series, otherwise pretty much any DJI camera drone, camera is quite good on all of them. Not new as in used or not latest models? Even first gen Mavic Pro has 20+ minutes real flight time, can be found for as low as $200. "Mavic 2 Pro zoom" has optical zoom, could be useful for your usecase. From new ones Air 3 would be my choice, 40 minutes flight, zoom lens, bigger for wind, but rather expensive. Also DJI sells official refurbished stuff, Air 3 is \~850 there
r/fpv • View on Reddit →You versus the drone she tells you not to worry about. First purchase was the Air 3 for me. Would love to get the Air 3s, or the 5-series. Damn U.S. gubbament oppressing us.
r/dji • View on Reddit →If you like zoom lenses Air 3. Its such a sick drone. I have the fly more. My buddy just bought the same one. If the zoom lens didnt exist Id probably have done the mini 4 pro. The Air 3 has great range and does incredible in high winds, way more quiet than I was expecting as well. Highly recommend getting the controller with the built in screen. Its a game changer Previously Ive had the Air, and Air 2
r/dji • View on Reddit →Yeah idk I've owned an air 2 and 3, and now I own a Fimi mini 3 and an X8 tele max... I don't find myself longing to get the air 3 again. I'd say across all specs, the air 3 wins but picture quality is the same to most people and the Fimi's zoom is sweet, as is the weatherproofing. I miss 360 panoramas though, very much. The value winner is Fimi, hands down. I got my tele max new for $450 lmao.
r/drones • View on Reddit →Best: The DJI Air 3 - dual cameras (wide and telephoto), pro-level video, long flight time, and it handles wind like a champ. Okay alternative: The Mini 4 Pro - great pics, but the smaller sensor and no zoom might hold it back a bit.
r/dji • View on Reddit →If you're not wanting to do any FPV flying then the NEO isn't the better option. If you want a drone that will give you good picture and video like the MINI 3 pro the closer to that is the DJI mini 4k. It has a 4k camera and just lacks the obstacle avoidance. It isn't going to be as good as the Mini 4 pro but that's a different budget range. I have the mini 2 we was my first and I loved it so much I bought the MP4 about 6 months later. I then wanted to have a tel zoom so went up to the upper side of my budget with the Air 3 S. I didn't need it to honestly the MP4 does what I want. There's advantages to the Air 3 s but a person could get but with just the MP4. I would snag the best DJI I could get. That's on shelf somewhere or as mentioned adorns if bigger purchase. I think you'd be happy with the mini 4k. I was happy with mini 2 we which is only 2.7k max res but wanted some obstacle avoidance even though I rarely use it.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I went with the Air 3. I am not sure which mavic you are referring to, because the Mavic 3 is a big jump from the other two. But i love my Air 3, amazing drone
r/dji • View on Reddit →Where I shoot, the Mini series drones are just too light for the winds. A heavier Air Mavic is the way to go in my situation. Although the Minis claim similar wind resistance on paper, in practice, the heavier and more powerful drones inspire much more confidence on windy days. I had to delay shoots with my Mini that I don't with my Air 3.
r/dji • View on Reddit →why can't you buy a used air 2 on ebay? Or get the air 3 because mini 4 pro isn't as good in the wind.
r/drones • View on Reddit →DJI is basically the only choice now, except maybe Autel Evo models that are somewhat older now, but they are included in the ban too! r/videography • View on Reddit →I am biased because I have only had the Air 3. The quality is very good and the 3x tele lens is amazing. I used it all the time and can't imagine not having it. The flight time is also great and it does great in the wind. Not to mention, it's very durable. The only advantages that the M4P has over the Air 3 is the 4k vertical footage (the Air 3 only has 2.7k in vertical but it's not like many on social media will notice the difference) and the M4P is lighter and doesn't require registration. Registration is very easy though. The Air 3 beats the M4P in every other aspect.
r/dji • View on Reddit →The Air 3S can do plenty of pro work, who is saying otherwise? I'm a full time pro photographer and my upgrade path has been: Inspire 1->Air 2->Air 3->Air 3S Air 3S has been my favorite drone by far, and would still be overkill for your use-case. Honestly only go Mavic if you need true D-log shooting, which you don't. Basically the M3P is for people who want most dynamic range without going full Inspire 3, dynamic range 99.99% of the audience will not notice in the end product.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I had the Mini 4 pro and went to the air 3. I have liked it so far. It's faster and the camera is pretty dang nice. More stable in the wind and more flight time. With that being said it is bigger and a little bit louder. I have enjoyed the air 3.

r/fpv • View on Reddit →The Mini4 Pro would be fine, it's the deliverables that count. You can also explain to people how the size of the drone is a safety feature that makes it so you can fly around people much easier. If you want something with a bit more 'oomph' and visual appeal, the Air 3/3S would be a perfect fit for your needs. I'd even say that the Mavic series would be overkill, really.
r/dji • View on Reddit →... you mean the Mavic 3 pro? Or the Air 3? they are two different drones. The Mavic 3 is considerably higher price. Well ya if you are traveling then the mini is probably better.
r/dji • View on Reddit →I'm not understanding why you'd go for a pro the MLS compresses the pictures no matter what and no agent is gonna look and say what was the aperture? From my experience the pros aren't worth the extra cash in this profession save the money and buy an air 3 that's what I did and it looks great. If you do lean more on the general photography maybe? But if it's primarily RE I'd go air 3 but also good luck replacing them as DJI can't get anything in the states and Amazon is asking for 400 over the MSRP now.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Thanks, I really appreciate the breakdown between the two drones. I have always wonsered if it was worth it for me to save up for the mavic pro3 vs the air 3, but I couldn't quite justify it for myself and this kind of confirms it for me. I just went with the air3 from the air2 and really like it.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Your iPhone won't overheat. If you're using the variant without the screen, the remote is doing all the heavy lifting and not stressing your antenna chips on the phone. Personally, I would recommend going with current gen drones, Mini 4, Air 3, Air 3S, Neo, Avata 2. If you go down a generation, the only drone I would recommend is the Air 2S, or Mini 4K. But their remotes are NOT compatible with any forward generation of drones. Tariffs, and price gouging is affecting drones across the board with imports being blocked, and you'll unfortunately have to suffice with third party if you live in the US as you will very unlikely clear customs with overseas import buying new. You'd have to Ebay, or use like Adorama. Air 3S is being scalped for 2K+ (supply & demand really), and Air 3 non S variants are still within reasonable prices including screened remote 1100-1400. Mini 4's is increasing in price significantly these last few weeks, floating around 1K+ $300 over MSRP. You won't be able to find a Mavic 3 Pro or Mavic 3 anywhere either, unless you just buy the drone itself.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Used Mavic 2 Pros can be had for great prices and have a very good camera if you are happy with a 28mm equivalent. Mavic 3 or Mavic Air 3(s) if you're looking for the option of a longer focal length which can be useful for landscape photography. Mavic 4 if money is no object. The upcoming Mini 5 Pro is going to be interesting as it will combine the IQ of a 1' sensor and the operational flexibility offered by sub-250g drones.
r/dji • View on Reddit →It does have better wind resistance indeed. I myself bought an air 3 for that reason so that would be a good argument for the Air 3.
r/dji • View on Reddit →The best drone is the one that you use the most. The Air 3S is superior, but the M4P is more portable. I have an Air 3 and often just pick up the Neo since I can quickly throw it into my pocket... I'd say: If your main focus is traveling and your audience is either social media, friends and family on WhatsApp or other mobile-first consumers, then M4P. If your main focus is cinematic footage of more sophisticated environments with a dynamic camera system, then 3S. Can't go wrong with either one.
r/dji • View on Reddit →If you're after the best balance of image quality, reliability, and battery life, I'd recommend looking at DJI first. The DJI Mini 3 Pro is compact, beginner-friendly, and still delivers excellent camera performance, while the DJI Air 3 gives you longer flight time and dual cameras if you want more flexibility. Autel Robotics is a solid alternative - the Evo Lite+ has great low-light performance and strong flight times, and some people prefer it over DJI because of fewer restrictions in the software. Holy Stone is fine if you want a cheaper, entry-level option to practice with, but it won't match DJI or Autel in terms of camera quality or stability. If your priority is serious photo/video work, go DJI or Autel. If you just want a budget-friendly flyer, Holy Stone works.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I've been really impressed with the Air 3. I was super lucky a six months ago and got the Air 3 Fly More combo for $835.00. Turns out it wasn't priced correctly but Amazon honored the price shown.
r/dji • View on Reddit →If you're having troubles with crashing, you need practice, not a better drone. However, the Air 3 and Mavic series have more sensors and handle wind significantly better. But you still need practice.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Same exact story, been using the Air 3 for yeas for those hard to reach shots. I shoot with an Olympus mirrorless for my photography hobby.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Gotta spend money to make money. I'd feel kinda silly pulling out a Mini 4 Pro in front of clients. Yea, we know it's packed with features and isn't a cheap drone but, the size makes it look like a toy from Target. Plus in the wind or anything it's going to get blown around. I'd invest in an Air 3S at least. When you set that big boy up your clients are going to get excited just seeing it. Add the better night or low light photos you'll be able to provide, it'd be well worth it. You can do what I did and get the minimalist package with the RC-N3 and then get the RC2 and extra batteries down the road. You'll end up paying more for the full Fly More that way but you don't have to come up with almost $2k (with Refresh) right out of the gate either.

r/dji • View on Reddit →100%. I've got the Air 3 and it's a tank in how tough it is and the image quality is awesome
r/technology • View on Reddit →Could you do this with a bunch of preset waypoints? My Air3 saves location, altitude, camera angle, heading, etc. for each waypoint in a flight, then it'll recreate that flight anytime I need it to. (Great for capturing "progress" flights on road construction etc.) You'd have to tell the drone to fly the mission even if it loses contact with the controller (which I don't know how to do but I'd guess it can be done?), hit each waypoint, then return to home automatically. The video is only 3:35 long; when people are seen walking you can tell it's been sped up but still that whole mission might take 8-10 minutes to fly one-way, then the same time back home. I've managed to get nearly 40 minutes out of an Air3 battery so it seems possible. (That said: This is a spectacular video. Any way to download a copy of it for future viewing? Got a link?)
r/dji • View on Reddit →No one can tell you which is best suited imo. I have a mini 4 pro that I use for travel but is mostly useless at home. Today, the wind gusts are 29mph. An air 3s would be better for my home use but not for travelling. I wanted it for travelling, so I went with the mini 4 pro with the option to get a drone only air later from Ebay if I want. Take some time and think about what you plan on doing most and make a decision for yourself. Have fun with your new toy.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Depends on your budget. If you're using it for social media, marketing purposes, capturing quality content, then the Mini 4 or the DJI Air 3 or 3s will do that for you. The Mini 4 is cheaper & smaller, but doesn't offer the 3x zoom, camera, and wind resistance capabilities that the Air 3 series offers. I love my DJI Air 3 so I'm biased towards it, but it strictly depends on your budget and how much you're gonna be using it. Either will get the job done.
r/dji • View on Reddit →Go for the mini 4 pro. The sharpness can be reduced in the settings page and you can also use ND filters to decrease shutter speed to help make it look more natural. The convenience of having a drone weight <250g esp. when travelling overseas is unmatched. If the weight and needing a higher certification is not an issue, then go with the air 3/3s or Mavic 3 for better cameras.
r/drones • View on Reddit →I've used a mini pro and a mavic 3 but my favorite to shoot with is still my air3. The 3x zoom seem perfect fP those nice compressed shots while still shooting 4k 60 in all the tracking modes.
r/videography • View on Reddit →Air 3 or Air 3S over the 3 Pro. There is very little justification of getting the Mavic 3 Pro, or any Mavic 3 line. aside from the Cine package. Mini 4 is fantastic as well. Mavic 3 Pro/Non Pro is dated, has worse tech, and uses O3/older controllers that only work with Mavic 2/Mini 3 generation if you want more drones. Neo/Flip/Inspire/Air 3/3S/4 Pro/Mavic 4 all/will use newer controllers. They are not backwards compatible either.
r/dji • View on Reddit →For weight reduction any mini lineup yes the 4 is hands down the best at the moment since it has so much software to it and Omni. Yes, it's 1100 for the fly more but worth it for the screen controller. Weight is not an issue you can get the Air 3 with fly more and screen for the same price on DJI specials day or refurbished from DJI.
