Love my zojirushi 5 cup makes quality coffee and about $100
r/BuyItForLife • Need a Coffee Maker Recommendation Under $100 CAD ->Zojirushi makes the best drip coffee & you can replace individual parts if needed. Have had mine since 2017 and its still going strong. Timer options so it brews automatically in the morning is also helpful so you can just get up and go without worrying about making it in the morning.
r/BuyItForLife • Best device to make a pot of coffee? ->Did you order the Zojirushi from Amazon? I got one for my mom and she had the exact same experience. Turns out the water was coming out at 150f when contacting the beans (typically this is 200-205f) so it was WAY too low. Filed a claim with Zojirushi and they said Amazon is not an authorized reseller to take it up with them. (Amazon sucks and sells a ton of used/broken stuff so I'm not surprised by this) Returned it to Amazon, and bought direct instead and it's MUCH better. I own a MM and it is better for sure. But 0 bells and whistles.
r/BuyItForLife • Let's talk coffee makers ->Howdy, Hoping to find someone that has used or at least touched a Zojirushi Zutto. I brew one 336g/21g cup weekday mornings. I have a Zojirushi Zutto and think it makes pretty decent small volume drip. I am tired of how cheap it feels. It is super light weight plastic with a carafe the feels like it is one bump away from shattering. I like the smallish footprint. I've looked at the moccamaster cup one but it looks like the water distribution worse than the Zutto. I don't want to take the time for pour over during the week. I'm also considering a switch or cleaver but really like the convenience of drip. Does anyone have any suggestions? TIA
r/JamesHoffmann • please help me upgrade drip maker from Zojirushi Zutto EC-DAC50 - do you use one? something nicer? ->Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed, helpful response. The more I look the more I realize why I picked the Zutto in the first place. I was set to buy the Aiden until I saw all the plastic. I think for now I am going to stick with the Zutto but will certainly report back if I find anything else. Like most of us, my first priority is taste. I'll take coffee I like from a machine I don't over the opposite any day.
r/JamesHoffmann • please help me upgrade drip maker from Zojirushi Zutto EC-DAC50 - do you use one? something nicer? ->I highly recommend the Zohirushi 5 cup. Consistent brew every time. Of course a lot depends on the coffee but imo this does it well
r/BuyItForLife • Best device to make a pot of coffee? ->I have a Zojirushi. Makes good coffee, brews into a thermos and stays hot all day.
r/BuyItForLife • What's the best no-frills coffee maker? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

I second the Zojirushi, stays warm forever too
r/BuyItForLife • Cuisinart died looking for a BIFL coffee maker. Hoping for way longer than 3 years. ->We have this one and love it!
r/BuyItForLife • What's the best no-frills coffee maker? ->I would remove the carafe for the beginning of the brew to allow more of an immersion brew, and reinsert/release the coffee after 3 or 4 minutes. The Zutto is literally half the size of the Moccamaster, so it makes sense that it would handle smaller amounts more easily. Obviously this is a hack because the KBGV is not designed for single cups.
r/Moccamaster • I think my Zojirushi made a better single cup.. ->My Zojirushi is a beast. Not one issue in 5 years of daily use.
r/BuyItForLife • Looking for a solid drip coffee maker. ->Have the same one, can't recommend it enough. Especially if you need your coffee to start before you wake up.
r/BuyItForLife • Looking for a solid drip coffee maker. ->I use an Oxo burr grinder, Zojirushi drip coffee maker and have an inexpensive little wand-style electric milk frother (just heat the milk and use the frother in a cup or mug. I think multi function machines with fancy displays are overpriced junk and will fail in a year or two. You can only get so much out of spending money on coffee making equipment versus spending money on great coffee beans.
r/homeowners • View on Reddit →Yes zojirushi makes good stuff. I was perhaps going and thinking higher water temp = better unequivocally... But perhaps the zutto will be better at making coffee for 1 cup no matter what I do. No, I didn't filter it. I'm in Toronto which doesn't have the hardest water in the world
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →They make a great product and it will last forever.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Just wanted to say I "upgraded" to a mocca master KGBV Select and the Zoji made a better cup. Grass is not always greener!
r/JamesHoffmann • View on Reddit →I have a Zojirushi because that's what I could get in 2020 (that was a weird time) but I think if it died I'd be looking at a Moccamaster or a Behmor Brazen. To me a good thermal carafe is important as my usual use is I make a full pot on a weekend morning and drink it over several hours.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →There are some coffee makers that are not SCA certified that come close or pretty much meet the specs. Like the Ninja 12-Cup, or the Zojirushi 5-cup and 12-cup options. However, I agree, the rest mostly not great because they don't get hot enough.
r/Costco • View on Reddit →i have limited counter space and didn't want to get a huge technivorm. i ended up with a red zojirushi zutto and love it. i took off stock filter and use a reuseable filter made for hairo v60 pour over maker. it's great, but only recommend if you're making coffee for 1-2 people as it only makes 5 cups. small footprint and zojirushi has a long lasting reputation making quality rice cookers. r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Zutto 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker,Silver. I'm a coffee snob. That coffee maker acts like a simple drip machine, just press the button to go. But the water temp is perfect, the water dispersion is perfect, and the cup of coffee it makes is as close to a perfect pour over as you will ever get. I have had much more expensive machines, this one is the best
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →This lil guy has been a monumental bang for the buck (<$100)... r/JamesHoffmann • View on Reddit →KGBV select imho is not a great choice for one-cup brewing to be honest. It works better when operated with larger brewing amounts, let's say, half a litre upwards. For your use-case, I might have considered - if it had to be Moccamaster - a Cup-One. Your Zojirushi Zutto on the other hand appears to be quite a good coffee maker with a rather precise water temperature, showerhead water dispensal and, which might make the difference, charcoal water filter. Brewing less hot is also a relevant aspect. Do you try both cups at the same temperature? Filter coffee becomes more pleasant once cooled down a bit. Knowing their rice cookers, I'd say they take their electronic appliances quite seriously despite not being specialised on coffee. The Japanese - Zojirushi originates from Japan - have quite a unique coffee culture themselves. Do you filter your water for your Moccamaster as well? Calcium has quite a bit of an influence on the brewing result.
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →Second zojirushi! My parents have had theirs for 10+ years and I also got one when I moved to college. My parents use theirs multiple times every morning. We have only had to replace the coffee pot if we break it since it's glass, but you can buy replacement parts on their site
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I love my Zojirushi Zutto - it's only 5 cups but they make 10 cup models as well.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Two Z 5 cup machines in our family. Lasts for ever and brews very consistent coffee. A bit prone to dripping when pouring due to design.
r/Costco • View on Reddit →It's a uniquely small / compact machine that does 1-2 cups very well (or 5 Japanese "cups"). I threw away the little carbon water filter bit and I agree the glass carafe seems quite fragile (and perhaps an insulated metal carafe would be preferable) but for the price point there isn't much else I've found.
r/JamesHoffmann • View on Reddit →I'm grinding at like, 4 on the ode gen 2! Any more and it's gonna get so bitter lol. I actually read the ATK review of the Zutto vs the KGBV select and the Zutto outperforms
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →I love my little Zojirushi. Not fancy but certainly gets the job done. I had my first one for nine years (I dropped it while cleaning and it cracked beyond repair) and am on year 2 of my second one.
r/JamesHoffmann • View on Reddit →I have had my zojirushi drip coffee machine for close to a decade. It's still going strong. Zero issues. But if I do need to replace a gasket or the carafe or really any part, they sell replacement parts for a reasonable price. Insulated carafe, no paper filters needed. Looks like something out of a 90s Tokyo kitchen though.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Holy shit. I just bought one at full price after a painful research project. I fucking love it. I am jealous of your price.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →It's better than the moccamaster in my opinion! I've owned both
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I second the Zojirushi, stays warm forever too
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I have a Zojirushi. Makes good coffee, brews into a thermos and stays hot all day.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →For a single person / a couple, I would go with a Zojirushi 5 cup coffee maker. We use one daily, makes great coffee. It's a no fuss machine. Zojirushi Zutto EC-DAC50 Coffee Maker SILVER : https://share.google/tHjEnFopGx0Ryf8OH
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →The Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Zutto 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker is a great little machine. If you really want to improve her coffee convince her to grind whole beans fresh each morning. It is a small extra step that will improve her cup way more than the coffee maker.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Ok, wanted to start off and say that I know I am a silly man and bought a KGBV select which I am primarily using for single cup brewing. Anyone have any tips? I'm experimenting with using a v60 to make the chamber smaller than the mocca masters, but I was very discouraged today when my Zutto (which doesn't brew that hot!) made a sweeter and more pleasant cup today.
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →I've been happy with the Zojirushi EC-DAC50 Zutto 5-Cup Drip Coffeemaker if you're just making 40g:750ml doses/cups. That being said the Moccamaster is the gold standard and you can't go wrong with one. But the Zojirushi is solid if space is at a premium.
r/JamesHoffmann • View on Reddit →Check out the zojirushi one. It's got most of the same features for less money. The moccamaster one is better, but given you aren't using it all the time, I'd save the cash. Edit: they don't seem to sell the model I have anymore, the one that competes with the moccamaster is now $200.. I paid $100 for an older model that was the competitor at the time and it's been great.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I have the Zutto EC-DAC50 and use it mostly for guests who want 1-2 cups in the morning as it seems to max out around 750ml / 40g. I like that I can fit it on an upper cabinet shelf when not in use. Other than the 1 cup Moccamaster and the Bonavita 5 cup there aren't that many machines that check all the boxes you mentioned (small, good shower head dispersion, easy to clean). I'd say maybe the Fellow Aiden with the small brew basket insert (but it takes up a lot more space and also uses a lot of plastic; and costs quite a bit more than a new Zutto EC-DAC50). There are also brewers like the Chemex Ottomatic and the Wilfa Precision Brewer (WSP-1B) that could work well tho are a bit larger.
r/JamesHoffmann • View on Reddit →I don't brew more than 15 ounces at a time. I found that coffee makers with insulated carafes (no hot plate) did not sufficiently heat the coffee once in the insulated carafe, because not enough water being heated for brewing. So if you brew smaller amounts, I'd recommend a hot plate. I have the 5cup Zojirushi and love it. I returned the larger Moccamaster with the insulated carafe. I personally didn't brew enough for it to make good/hot coffee. edited because I wasn't nuanced enough in my sentence.
r/Coffee • View on Reddit →Nice! The hot plate doesn't bother me on the 5-cup because the coffee's not in the carafe long enough to impact the flavor. Goes right to the mug and down my gullet. And yes not SCA, but the temp is damn close, especially for the money.
r/JamesHoffmann • View on Reddit →I have a Zojirushi drip coffee maker that has been producing the best regular drip coffee ive ever had consistently for 10 years now
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I'm gonna grind a bit coarser, just can't get over the zoji cup being sweeter lol
r/Moccamaster • View on Reddit →Correct. Seems wonky, but makes it impossible to misalign the carafe under the dripper. I don't mind because I never make more than a couple of cups at a time.
r/JamesHoffmann • View on Reddit →So far so good. I thought it was funny in their video they went on about how good the pour was from the carafe. Then I used it and was like damn that is a good pour. It makes good coffee. The removable water container is the best part.
