Bunn - Heat N' Brew

We've owned our Bunn for about 20 years. I had to take it apart and replace a fuse once but I consider being able to do repairs still "buy it for life" It keeps the water at the appropriate temperature, like OPs machine. Takes up a lot less counter space.

Bunn is great and 1/3 the price of the Moccamaster

We got our Bunn as a wedding present 12 years ago and I love it. We make 10 cups a day every day and sometimes more so I'm estimating it has made 2,000 gallons of coffee. It brews faster and quieter than regular coffee pots, and I feel like it tastes better because the water isn't quite as hot. It has two switches, which i rarely ever touch. One is to turn the tank heater off if you go on vacation, and one is the hot plate.

My biggest gripe about the Bunn machines is that it keeps the water constantly hot. I do not like that. I know they are rather efficient, but I dont like the idea of the heater running all the time. Ive had them at work, and they are awesome for big offices who drink lots of coffee. For one pot of coffee in the morning, its overkill for my use .

Once I discovered carafe's I never went back. The Bunn I use my coffee is still drinkable and hot several hours later.

I like Bunn coffee machines. I bought one at a restaurant supply store. It's still making coffee somewhere :-)

for the price, can't beat a BUNN

Not exactly cheap but I would get a Bunn. They are amazing, simple to use and built to last. They really only 2 buttons and one stays on. The other is the hot plate.

Yes! I went through two Bunns over the years. They are fast and reliable machines and last forever. (Unfortunately, both of mine got farmed OVERNIGHT by tiny ants when it got cold out.)

My husband got me hookes on a BUNN coffee maker. Imo it makes a really good cup of coffee and is comparable to my French press that we use when the power goes out.

How is this the only mention of Bunn in this whole thread, simple, reliable, no worries or fancy bs just works for years and years.

Had a couple Bunn, loved the speed of them, but it isn't bifl or at least not for me. Also if you don't brew a pot every day the water will evaporate and you end up with stronger than normal, smaller batch of coffee. Been using a Mr Coffee for years, it does what it does, just slower than a Bunn due to no preheated water on standby. Recently bought a Moccamaster but it my weekend car, so to speak. Been buying fresh roaster beans just for it and experiment with the expensive stuff. Our weekday go juice is pre ground Starbucks French roast in the Mr Coffee. Our

It's no Moccamaster, but the Bunn Heat'n'Brew is a solid option. Water stays in the top and is heated. Once it hits temperature, a valve opens and the water pours on the grounds. It's dead simple and avoids all the tubing of cheap models. Mine has lasted nearly 10 years so far and hopefully will continue to work just as well for the next 10. I recommend using the Bunn filters as they are taller than standard and the volume of water this puts in the basket makes the shorter ones more likely to collapse. Luckily their filters are cheap and a lot of places sell them. For any coffee maker, do a regular descaling to keep it functional. I use Urnex Descal, and it's great. No vinegar smell and it cleans better. Buy the bulk canister instead of the individual packets and you'll save a lot.

Bunn-O-Matic. They make great coffee and last a long time.

I love our basic Bunn. No frills, fast. It basically keeps one full pot near ready to brew, you add a new pot full of water, close the lid and you have coffee in minutes. It's a little more expensive than the cheap ones, but they last forever

My Bunn is over 20 years old. I use it everyday. Someone gave me their Bunn when they moved so I have a back-up waiting in the attic if I ever need to replace mine. I love that the hot plate is a separate button. I make iced coffee everyday so the coffee will brew even if the hot plate is off. I let it cool in the pot for several hours before putting it in the fridge with no need to remember to turn the hot plate off.

I rinse my carafe and basket most days, maybe actually wash them once a week. I run vinegar through the machine once a year, tops. That's about as low maintenance as it gets.

A regular Bunn coffee maker is plenty you do not need the professional one. I have my Bunn coffee maker for yrs. It makes great coffee and it takes 2 min for a full pot. I love mine.

Get a Bunn coffee maker. Nothing compares to it..

A Bunn- reliable, simple, and makes great coffee

Get online and buy a used Bunn single [I forget the term- portion, burner, plate, carafe] coffee maker. American drip coffee exactly the kind that restaurants use. Powerful and will last forever.

In my 30 years of having my own stuff, I only recall a Bunn crapping out, and that was after 3 or 4 years. I think my current Mr Coffee is 10 years old. That said, I did go nuts and buy a Moccamaster during the prime sale.. but I am dabbling in the good coffee experience, but only on the weekends. My weekday go juice comes out of the Mr Coffee because we don't have time to weigh beans and the hand grinder.

One thing to consider about the Bunn-we use more coffee grounds to get the strength we want than we do with a typical drip coffee maker because the water flow is much faster. It adds up fairly quickly (I got the Bunn for $5 and love the convenience of it so it's hard for me to let go.)

I have a Bunn that I got as a wedding gift 17 years ago. It's basically a smaller model of the ones that diners use. It's got a reservoir where water is kept at the correct temp, and it's gravity fed...so when you pour in more cold water and close the lid, the hot water immediately starts flowing out over your beans. Makes a full pot in just a few minutes. It's not programmable or any of that, it's just simple and reliable.

I'm currently running a Bunn HB with an Encore grinder. Will likely replace the Bunn with a MM when it finally kicks the bucket.

Obviously the win goes to Moccamaster. And while I've never measured one, they look too tall to make them practical. Not to mention expensive. We've used Bunn for at least 30 years (not the same unit), and feel very comfortable recommending them.

Well, the amount of coffee and the grind size that people like are subjective, hat works for one may not work for another and that's OK. The reason that Bunn has different sprayheads, is because people who used fine grinds would overflow the basket when making 8-10 cups of coffee (because of the speed of the brew, the basket would fill up with water), so they slowed the process. That's why I called them about the issue and was sent a different sprayhead which worked out great. There are many coffee forums on the web, and that's where I first heard about that issue maybe 10 years ago. Really hard for me to believe that you use a fine grind, tamp it down (like I do), that it's still a fast brew, and that you need to use more coffee. That goes opposite everything I know about this brewer, but I guess to each its own. It's not rocket science, it's just making a drink. As long as you enjoy it, that's all that counts.

Buy a Bunn. Low tech, not much to it, and great coffee in 3 minutes.

Bunn, not cheap, but last m8nes going on 15 or 16 years.

I got a Bunn this year for the site I work at and it has been great! It keeps water heated so zero wait on the brew and they are made to last
