I did that for this very same reason. I got a Viofo and spent $400 for front and back cameras. Then I returned it because they were asking me to buy their memory card for over $100. Got a used Rove, 2 camera system for $100 used. It has the same starvis 2 sensor in front but only 1080p for back camera. It comes with a memory card and their specs are easy for upgrading the card. It just works. Also, it does not beep when recording as the Viofo did. I'm sure there is a setting to change that. It also allows me to put in car's license plate to display on video recordings. It has a screensaver mode also. It shows direction of travel which I don't have on my rear view mirror. I was hesitant on routing the wires, but they were a breeze on my hatchback.
r/SanJose • How many of you have dash cams and which one is best? ->I've got a Rove R2-4K in my Rav4. Is this one better?
r/rav4club • Is this a dash cam ? ->I got this with the hardwire kit. very nice dashcam and easy to do yourself. took about 45 minutes! https://a.co/d/ijaKqBN
r/Lexus • Aftermarket Dash Cam ->This is just for the front camera? It took all of 15 minutes to run power through the headliner, down the A pillar, and to an add a fuse adapter. The back camera is what took a good hour to route through the hatch conduit and all the way to the front camera. I have the Rove R2 4k dual with the hardwire kit. Works great. No complaints. Also not a sales pitch. I just haven’t used other dash cams so can’t speak to them. Can’t post any pictures. Thanks Tiguan subreddit config.
r/Tiguan • Anyone hide power to dashcams? ->I just returned the ROVE R2-4K. I even cant see the plate in front of 10 fts during daytime. I plan to try A229 plus dual.
r/mazda • What budget+reliable Dashcams do you guys use? ->I have the Rove R2 4K Dual. I spent a lot of time researching. But I know the Dual kit has one of the newest camera specs on the market. That one does not unfortunately. Starvis 2 is important for night quality reading plates. The novatek version also makes a difference. Had no issues with my rove yet
r/GR86 • Dash cams ->The r2 4k, r2 4k pro and the r2 4k dual are three different specs. The dual is the newest specs. Works great love it but the pro isnt as good as the dual.

r/GR86 • Dash cams ->I got a rove r2 4k pro with a rear camera, and I love it. It’s currently on sale for 90 and it comes with a 128gb sd card.
r/dashcams • whats an affordable dual dash cam under 150 dollars ->I have a Rove 4k in my truck. I was able to get an accessory plug so it is powered off the rear view mirror; no running of wires. I got the Ford Thinkware dashcam for my wife's Ranger. It wires directly into OBD for continuous power which my Rove doesn't have. However Ford sells an older Thinkware that doesn't have wireless access..... Huge disappointment. There's nothing fancy about the Rove but it wasn't super expensive either
r/f150 • Dash Cam recommendations ->I own 3 of these today. Normally they are around $150 - $160 when I’ve bought them. Seems like a great price to me.
r/dashcams • ROVE R2-4K “Limited time deal” feels off - Worth buying now? ->Beware of Fitcamx on my previous car; it slowly drained my battery over six months while the car was off. I have been using a [Rove R2-4k Pro](https://www.amazon.com/ROVE-R2-4K-PRO-Dashcam-Supports/dp/B0BZRKRBHP) since May in my MK 8.5, which can be hardwired into the Fuse box or connected to the 12V port, and haven't had any issues.
r/Golf_R • Dashcam install and quality ->10 minutes is the longest loop. Otherwise, it is record until the end of storage and then it stops.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →I have a VIOFO A229 Plus in my EUV. A little pricy (around $200) but the quality is good and I like that it makes it easy to have a front and rear camera. Also, it has a good WiFi connection (uses 5GHz), so downloading videos off the device is pretty quick (my previous dashcam, a rove r2-4k, had an awful WiFi chip, so downloading a minute-long video would take upwards of 10 minutes. Which was borderline useless when I just wanted to quickly get the video and pass it along to someone).
r/BoltEV • View on Reddit →I have a Rove R2-4K in my Highlander and I really like it. I connect it to the mirror for power. I think I paid about $200
r/ToyotaHighlander • View on Reddit →I have a Rove R2-4K and love it. Front and rear.
r/Frugal • View on Reddit →Sure thing. The rove brand has an app and an SD card in the cam. You can get on the app and download footage to your phone - that was a hot seller for me.
r/f150 • View on Reddit →I got the ROVE R2-4K recently and love it...its supercapacitor based so no issues of lithium batteries heating up. And the day and night quality is very good, I upgraded from an Aukey DR02 which I had for over 5 years to this and it's quite good so far.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • View on Reddit →I'm using a 256GB card (Sandisk High Endurance, item code SDSQQNR-256G-GN6IA) , so I cannot speak to anything larger being supported (but I do see others have). I've had the camera for roughly 7 months now (bought 2 of them on Amazon and with deal of the day discount, got them for $185)and I am really happy with them. The phone app isn't bad but could be better. I still use an older cell phone with the Torque app installed and use the track recorder function (I have an obd2 bluetooth adapter that interfaces with it and I have extra gauges as overlays for it) for a secondary dash cam, but it's nice to have the features of a dash cam with great night vision recording, something that a Galaxy Note 3 phone doesn't do well. 🤣 Overall the A119 is a great dash cam. I have one in my car and have been trying to convince my wife to let me install the second one I bought in her car because these days I really do believe that everyone should have a dash cam in their car. For my Firebird I went with a ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam (front and rear camera) that I'll be installing in the spring. That car already encountered a hit and run when it was parked and I wasn't in it, so I'm a little paranoid about that happening again.

r/BroncoSport • View on Reddit →The A229 pro has been good to me. The app is not great but works. Have one for my daily driver and my wife's car. My other car I've been using the ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam. Micro SD card brand and type is equally important. I didn't use the micro sd card that came with the rove. I tend to stick to the Samsung Evo line or SanDisk High Endurance Video line.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →I have a Rove R2-4K and only just started using the parking mode. I tested, and it does come on and start recording when the g sensor is triggered even with the ignition off and key removed. Mine is a bit older and is a single cam, but it says when I enable parking mode that it has an internal power source so no battery connection is required, but I did buy an ODB power adapter so the wire wasn't visible going to the USB port. I like mine so much that I bought a dual cam rove r2 for my wife's car and just bought a sl third one for my brother for Christmas. Got both (dual cam versions) for $99 and they came with a micro sd card that works fine for now but will probably replace the card sooner than if I bought a better quality one. Video quality is pretty good even on the rear cam.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →I have the Rove R2-4K Dual. It has excellent video quality and minimal side blindspots. And I really like that you can manipulate the rear camera to your preferred angle. My only complaint is, I wish it was mobile network enabled for 24/7 live view from any range, cloud upload capabilities, and real-time alerts. I've recently started looking into others that do have this feature, and so far what I've found seem to have poor video quality (not really 4k, no night vision, etc), or some other issue. Or they seem pretty good, but doesn't have all of the features I would like. Please update with what you end up getting, and your opinion 🙂
r/Civic_Type_R • View on Reddit →I use the Rove R2-4K Dual for both my Rav4 and Sienna. It’s been great for me.
r/rav4club • View on Reddit →I have a Rove 4K dash cam in my 2013 Highlander and it works really well. I have a FitCamX in my 2020 Corolla hybrid and it works well but it doesn’t have the screen and some of the other bells and whistles of the Rove. I like that the fitcam looks factory but if you’re wanting something with a little bit more bells and whistles the Rove is nice
r/ToyotaHighlander • View on Reddit →Yep that's what I use ...fairly easy to run the wire across the headliner....down the pillar....along the side of the dash....and behind the glove box! I've had it for over a year and no complaints.
r/civic • View on Reddit →I have been really pleased with my Rove 4k dual. Does front and back and was just on sale recently for $100
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →I bought this last month - not necessarily the cheapest ROVE R2-4K PRO Dash Cam, Built-in... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BZRKRBHP?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
r/uberdrivers • View on Reddit →I purchased the R2 4K dual which has the starvis 2 with discount for 339dhs. Rove has more reviews that viofo but still a good brand. Installed the rove myself, hid the wires easily. Lots of guides on it. Just the rear has a wire shown as it needs some lenght to open the rear door given its an suv. Will be more neat for a sedan. No need to pay stupid prices like 1K or more. U can easily manage installation on ur own.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • View on Reddit →I like and use the ROVE R2-4K....not fancy, but gets the job done for one front facing camera.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →I have the ROVE r2-4k front and Rear facing.... my previous came was the same brand but it was only the front facing one. I might take it back out and put back in my car to use as a cabin cam, since I haven't sold it to anyone...
r/uberdrivers • View on Reddit →I had an issue with my Viofo not saving clips. I had an accident that it didn't capture and of course the other person lied. Took 7 months of arbitration. I got a Rove 4k instead and it's great!
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →I have a rove 4k and it works fine records front and back
r/Challenger • View on Reddit →We have this one, but it plugs in to the cig-style outlet at the back (I think you can also usb-c it with an adapter). Got it because I didn't want to do any wiring. [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D6J5B98H](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D6J5B98H)
r/VWiD4Owners • View on Reddit →I've got rove cams front and rear in my truck and my wife's. Power is tapped from the mirror in both with the mentioned adapter. Auto on and off with the ignition and couldn't be happier.
r/f150 • View on Reddit →That are normally $99. I have two. The suction cup failed so I used 3M heavy duty two sided adhesive. I recently bought red tiger.
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →Most 4k (that I have looked into) are actually split, or divided, like its the total including the rear cam. I have a rove, its 4k, yet not the front nor rear is actually 4k alone. So personally, I would not recommend buying less than a 4k (plus the 1080p on my rear cam is in no way near as good of quality as the front cam, can't imagine decifiering plates off it). Just my experience / opinion. Strange your videos take that long to download. A 3 min video for mine takes seconds. Idk, maybe something in your settings? Worth double-checking.
r/Civic_Type_R • View on Reddit →I have the Rove 2, front channel only, and I like it. It will record 10-minute loops, it can be hard-wired or run off USB, and it works well. Rove also has really good tech support. I had an issue with one of my 2 cameras and they replaced it, no questions asked. Just sent me a new one and had me send the faulty one back.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →Check out the Rove cameras on Amazon. I have the Rove2-4K and it is a pretty nice setup.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →I use this when I rent cars or borrow someone else’s for some reason. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0D6J5B98H?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
r/mercedes_benz • View on Reddit →I got this with the hardwire kit. very nice dashcam and easy to do yourself. took about 45 minutes! https://a.co/d/ijaKqBN
r/Lexus • View on Reddit →Nice but still its a hefty price to pay though for all that. Yeah i wasnt referring to your Rove, I specifically mentioned Rove 4k which i purchased that had starvis 2. U can refer to my original comment. For parking mode there is a seperate kit to purchase for the rove that needs hard wiring.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • View on Reddit →I got a Rove R2-4K from amazon, it includes a rear camera for like $100. They also have a package deal that will include a lens cover for the camera that reduces glare for $120, that's the package i bought and videos are super clear with it. It captures great video. The app is fast and makes it super easy to download videos. I dont think id buy a different camera after owning this one.
r/ram_trucks • View on Reddit →I rather like my Rove R2. It was $120 and pretty easy to work with and install
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →Viofo a139 pro was the best dashcam I had until it stopped working one day. Now i have a viofo a329s and a rove r2 -4k dual
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →Yeah, half of these don't connect to WiFi (customer reporting), won't stay on, can't download unless near cam, won't power on, etc. When the reviews of negatives outweighs the positives, I'd be leery of just throwing brands out there... (Walmart? really?) Always do your own home work. I did a google search and looked at all these 'brands' (Especially the Rove R2 and RedTiger)... Just do the research, there is a lot of 'crap' out there. One way to tell; Do the housing on various models all look alike (same batch manufacturer)?
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →Rove R2-4K Pro. Under $100. Love this camera. I think the Viofo is great too. Can’t go wrong with either.
r/driving • View on Reddit →I use a rove 4k in my car and I know alot of truckers use it also, the kit comes with a suction cup and a cig lighter power cable so you can plug it in and remove it as you like

I use the ROVE R2-4K. It's a basic front view dashcam that I just use with a card. I like that it's easy to install to the windshield and easy to remove.
