If you're looking for a turnkey solution, the Dongar Pro is still available. https://dongar.tech/products/dongar-pro. It's more expensive, but it does have a built-in parking mode system, which is good if the dashcam you're using does not have its own parking mode. I ended up returning the Dongar, not because of anything wrong with it, but because my dashcam (Viofo A329 Pro) has its own proprietary parking modes. For my dashcam, I ordered the hardwire kit (Viofo HK4) and spliced it with the Subaru wiring harness (part H501SSG010). This allows me to use the native parking mode in my dashcam. Let me know if you need pictures of the Subaru harness spliced to the Viofo HK4 hardwire kit.
r/ToyotaSienna • Installed Front Dashcam on 2025 Platinum ->I responded to your question on the other thread, but let me add more color the response here. All of these solutions use the OEM dashcam plug that's present in all current gen Siennas (2021+). So you wouldn't be altering any factory wiring on your Sienna - just plugging something into it. If you happen to find a vanilla Dongar (which is not even available anymore), that only provides power to the dashcam based on the ignition state. If you get the Dongar Pro, that has its own built-in parking mode and it's good for dashcams that do not have its own parking mode. Since you have a Viofo A329, that has its own proprietary parking mode. That being said, both the Dongar and the Dongar Pro will work. But if you want to use the Viofo native parking modes, then you will need to buy the Viofo HK4 hardwire kit and splice it into a 5-pin connector (I used the Subaru wiring harness H501SSG010). You would just be messing with the wiring with the Viofo HK4 and the Subaru wiring harness, so your Sienna wiring is not modified at all.
r/ToyotaSienna • Installed Front Dashcam on 2025 Platinum ->Unfortunately, I haven't done much research into the Roav dashcams. What model is it? Generally for a dashcam's native parking mode to work, it's going to need some signals coming from the vehicle. I believe it's three wires minimum: 1) Ignition - tells the dashcam if the car is on or off 2) Continuous power - so the dashcam can keep drawing power when the car is off 3) Ground The Dongar non-Pro (discontinued) only has ignition. So once you turn off the vehicle, the dashcam turns off. The Dongar Pro - has it's own parking mode, so you wouldn't even need to use the native parking mode on your Roav.
r/ToyotaSienna • Installed Front Dashcam on 2025 Platinum ->I use Viofo A129 on my cars. It's top-rated for a reason - good price, 4K video recording, wifi connectivity, capacitor-powered (instead of batteries that bloat and degrade in heat), front and rear cameras. Newest model is now the A329.
r/CarsPH • what are your recommended dash cams??????????????? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

My thought as well. The SD card must be the higher-quality Extreme or Industrial use. You may experience irratic behaviors that are unexplainable in some cases. The lower quality SD cards can be more exposed to vibration while writing to the card. The speed on the higher quality are much faster, ~190 Mbs per second enabling writing your video clips to the SD less read/write errors or video loss. The lower quality SD card writes about ~100Mbs per second also half the speed of the higher end. I have owned Viofo for at least ten years and have not been disappointed. The continue to add features or benefits to their product mix. I have undated the firmware to the latest version. Like any technology updating your firmware that is recommended by the OEM is key to any satisfaction. The A229 and 329 dash cams have very fast video and snapshot photos or parking mode. THIS would probably explain your to slow message when it reads the card or formats the card it sees a low speed transfer or read/write. Anyways, Best dash cam I have used.
r/Dashcam • Viofo A229 Plus Concerns ->If you just want a good front dashcam, the Viofo A119 v3 will fit the bill. I put the A329 in because I wanted the better image quality and rear camera. Was worth the extra shekels. Buy once, cry once, if you can budget a bit more. Whatever you get, make sure you get a high or max endurance microSD card.
r/Crosstrek • Best crosstrek dash cam? ->I have had the Viofo A329 for about 10 months as my first dash cam. Very reliable product so far. I don't think you will go wrong with either of those.
r/Dashcam • Buying my first dash cam... ->There are two advantages to using two single channel dash cams rather than a two channel dash cam. Redundancy, and longer record time. Any dash cam is better than no dash cam. The best dash cam I am aware of is the Viofo A329, It does better than most at night, but all dash cams are bad at night (motion blur and over exposed license plates). You should also check out this web site: https://dashcamtalk.com/
r/SanJose • How many of you have dash cams and which one is best? ->I've Viofo A329. I liked that one as that's the only one that supports SSD storage which is better than memory cards.
r/CX50 • Dash Cam ->Viofo A329 or A229 Pro, those are the only decent dashcams I know where you can get a half decent footage and legible license plates.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • Best dash cam ->Yes, but I'd recommend a dashcam with higher resolution than 1080p. Preferably 2.5K* or 4K. I like Viofo.
r/Camry • Dash cam ->Blackboxmycar.com and Vortex Radar on YouTube do amazing reviews and comparisons. I have a Blackvue 2 channel in my wagon and just put a Viofo A329s 3 channel in my new daily. Dual mode hybrid parking recording and lots of nice features on the viofo. Though I prefer the form factor of the blackvue.
r/askcarguys • View on Reddit →I'm using the VIOFO A329S 2CH myself. Works really well. Get the hardwire kit for monitoring your parked vehicle, it will record when gforce or motion is detected. Have a Honda Accord Hybrid Touring 25, and never had any battery drain issues!
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →I've Viofo A329. I liked that one as that's the only one that supports SSD storage which is better than memory cards.
r/CX50 • View on Reddit →For the price, there's much better out there. You can buy a VIOFO A329 for around the same price and that is a 4K camera with a Sony Starvis 2 sensor (the Toyota dash cam is only 1080p). Since the Sienna has a 12V plug pre-wired and hole already cut out in the headliner, running power to an aftermarket dash cam couldn't be easier.
r/ToyotaSienna • View on Reddit →I'm considering this because of the form factor, I like the idea of having both a digital; rear view mirror as well as an interactive touch screen right there to easily manage things is great,. But I also don't feel; great about their parking mode compared to say the Thinkware 3000 buffered parking mode. My priority is parking mode over all else, as I want to see what is happening to my car when I find a dent in the door or other damage. I don't like thinkware in other res\[pects but it definitely seems to have a superior buffered parking mode. So,. my focus has been mostly on that. I actually wrote to Wolfbox a few times asking them please consider adding a better buffered parking mode sentry unit, I doubt they will but I asked because I like everything else about it. I think I am going to get the Viofo A329 because it is really good in all areas, and I can set it up a little over kill with a 4 tb ssd, a 512 sd card, and a battery backup hardwired, so when I park it 8 or 10 hours a day it will remain in parking / sentry mode and not kill my battery or record over itself. I've got to look at thinkware once more to remind myself what was weak, I forget.
r/FJCruiser • View on Reddit →Viofo A329 is what im running Ning currently can hardwire or plug and play. Just have to buy their hardwire kit if thats the route. Its pretty straight forward
r/subaru • View on Reddit →Look up the YouTube videos by SafeDriveSolutions. I'm located in Canada and I had them professionally install my dashcam (Viofo A329) and I haven't had a single issue with it. I went for the one with 4K60fps recording just to get the top of the line dashcam with my new RAV4 See in Cavalry Blue (too!). It has both front and rear dash cams, along with parking mode.
r/rav4club • View on Reddit →Viofo a139 pro was the best dashcam I had until it stopped working one day. Now i have a viofo a329s and a rove r2 -4k dual
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →The best cameras are the Viofos but the Fitcam is the easiest to install cleanly and looks OEM so it really depends on what you're after.
r/Polestar • View on Reddit →Afaik There is no right dash cam for a specific car. It's all based on what you want to achieve; Personally I went with a VIOFO A329S for full footage coverage (Front, Back and Inside) and have it hooked up to a battery pack for parking mode.
r/civic • View on Reddit →I have the Viofo A329S dual camera, which is mounted up front and powered by the rearview mirror (premium only and you'll need a $20 kit, otherwise usb in the center compartment). Then it has a long cable you can easily run all along the top where the interior trim meets the ceiling. I found it trivial to just pull back on it slightly with a finger and stuff cable with absolutely nothing visible.
r/MazdaCX30 • View on Reddit →The new Viofo A329s 2ch is available for around $700, with install that's still saving a bucket load over the stealership.
r/CarsAustralia • View on Reddit →If it's not hardwired, then it will switch off when the car switches off. Typically you connect it not directly "to the battery" but to a line somewhere that ultimately gets powered directly off the battery. If you don't know how to or don't want to mess around with it yourself, just pay a shop to install it for you.
r/Cartalk • View on Reddit →All the good dashcams use capacitors. Otherwise heat destroys the battery. I've had a VIOFO for about 10 years running fine. Now I run a new VIOFO A329S 2CH since my other one was broken in a car accident. SD card still kept the footage though.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →Bear in mind the A119 would never be able to capture the plate if it's not day time+ stationary, if it's a hit and run guaranteed would not be captured, I went through thinkware x1000, A139 Pro( actually gd video quality no problem capturing plates on speed, but the 139 has a known cable issue that the rear camera might disconnect occasionally, switched to the newest a329s, cable issue is gone)
r/ft86 • View on Reddit →Honestly it was a great price, I paid $846.37 total. But it came with the VIOFO A329 with the rear camera, a 128/256gb memory card (I can't remember) it was also set up with parking mode so it's professionally installed to my fusebox under the steering wheel. Along with all cables hidden and zip tied so the only cable you see is the 1-2" coming from the rearview mirror area. All in all, with the additional accessories, you only really pay about $130 for the install cost. If you price the rest of the items separately, you pay about $717 (according to Viofos website, added accessories and free shipping). Plus Ted sat down with me, set up the camera and showed me how to use it etc. Trust me, I watch the installation and I would have had 0 idea how to take apart the parts that Ted did and I'm glad I paid for it. Edit: Not sure why I'm being down voted for my answer, I did my research before going with them.
r/rav4club • View on Reddit →Get something like the Viofo A329, which has a mount that sticks to your windshield then the cam snaps to the mount. Good camera too.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →As an insurance agent, I think EVERYONE should have a dashcam. Preferably one with front and rear facing cameras. There are some great 4k cameras out there with Bluetooth capabilities. Viofo has some great cameras that get amazing reviews, but they are expensive. For more budget conscious individuals REDTIGER F7NP is a great option as well that has wireless, but it's not Bluetooth. We have them installed on all of our vehicles.
r/asksandiego • View on Reddit →Look up safe drive solution, they will actually come to your house and install it in your driveway for you. Here's what I wrote into he past to someone else asking about dashcams and installation shops. I got the Video A329. Or whatever the top of the line 4K one is, I can't remember it now. "Honestly it was a great price, I paid $846.37 total. r/askTO • View on Reddit →Just bought VIOFO front and rear for my truck.
r/f150 • View on Reddit →Go buy a VIOFO A229 or the newly released A329s dashcam. Coming from someone who has owned the A129 duo (2k front 1080 rear), the upgrade to the A229 pro duo with 4k hdr front n 2k hdr rear is a massive upgrade. I believe the A329S is a moderate upgrade. Video quality from VIOFO is top notch and very reliable
r/Camry • View on Reddit →FitcamX is nice because of the fit, but something like a Thinkware U3000 or Viofo a329 is going to capture better video. I am getting the A329. I don't plan on doing any monitoring during parking, but it's compatible with battery packs if you want that feature. It would probably be easy to run the wiring down the passenger A pillar and to the fuse box the secure the battery down there somewhere.
r/MachE • View on Reddit →I use Viofo A129 on my cars. It's top-rated for a reason - good price, 4K video recording, wifi connectivity, capacitor-powered (instead of batteries that bloat and degrade in heat), front and rear cameras. Newest model is now the A329.
r/CarsPH • View on Reddit →Now that the A329 is out, I'd recommend it over the A229 Plus or Pro. It's more expensive, but is an overall better camera. For me the killer feature is it can record to an external SSD. No more fumbling with those tiny cards; no more microSD file corruption.
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →Have had good luck with Viofo. Currently rocking a 329 but thinking about swapping to the three channel.
r/subaru • View on Reddit →None of these cameras had a Sony Starvis 2 sensor, yet if you pay a little extra, you can step up to the newer version of the Viofo A119, the A119 Mini2 which does, and which would beat the Viofo A119 V3 that won this test in the same way that the V3 beat most of the competition! Having stepped up to current generation Sony Starvis 2, you can then step up to the 4K version, which is another significant step, and then you get a bit stuck on image quality and going for a far more expensive Blackvue or Thinkware is currently a step down in image quality relative to the 4K Viofo A229 Pro, only reason you would take that step is to get cloud access to your parked car, but that is an expensive choice, both in cash and in license plate readability. Best image quality currently is the Viofo A329 series, which not only has Sony Starvis 2 sensors, but has also moved to the next generation of processors, which is bringing quite a few advantages.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →Viofo A329 or A229 Pro, those are the only decent dashcams I know where you can get a half decent footage and legible license plates.
r/DubaiPetrolHeads • View on Reddit →Viofo A329S with the hardwire kit should be one of the best in the market now
r/CarsAustralia • View on Reddit →I went viofo a329. 3ch, including interior infrared fisheye and rear waterproof mounted underneath the "spoiler". It was between this or the wolf box. I am very happy with this setup. I just wish I could do the 60fps with 3ch like they falsely advertised I could do on launch day.
r/4Runner • View on Reddit →I'm looking at replacements now and the A810 is one of my final contenders. I was planning to hardwire it, but I'm a little worried about it since their basic hardwire kit has shut off voltage options of only 11.6 or 12.0, both of which are too low. With all the 12v issues on the EV6 that makes me a little nervous. It also apparently only buffers 2 seconds of video in an event recording which is pretty short. The video samples online are really good though, firmware is published regularly and publicly (unlike fitcamX), and the price can't be beat (it's $139 right now). I think for me it's between that or the VIOFO A329. A329 is way more expensive, but has better rear cam quality and draws less power in parking mode (and hardwire kit has better voltage cutoff options). I ran A119v3 for years as front and back cameras with no problems but I sold them with the old car when I bought the EV6. Our secondary car has an A119S that's still working well too. The new A329 has some questionable reviews though so I may just go with the 70mai.
r/KiaEV6 • View on Reddit →If you're looking for a good dash cam, go with the Viofo brand. I have the A329S front & read dashcam with the HK6 wire kit and it works great with my 24 CRV hybrid sport.
r/crv • View on Reddit →VIOFO A329 that Best Buy installed on my X5 for $99. Clean install too, running the rear through the rubber tubes, etc. $900 for everything is crazy. And I'm Bay Area so VHCOL.
r/rav4club • View on Reddit →I've got the VIOFO A329s. Hardwired it with the HK4. Bit of a hassle because the only always-live fuses were in the engine compartment, as opposed to the interior fuse box, but it wasn't really that bad.
r/CX50 • View on Reddit →If you judge "best" by most integrated features and system from one manufacturer, I'd say it would be the BlackVue DR970X-2CH LTE PlusDR970X-2CH LTE Plus with their extended use battery pack and data plan. It has the new(ish) Starvis 2 4K sensor for its front camera, so is among the best in PQ and if you subscribe to a monthly BlackVue plan you can access the camera at all times. because it has its own cellular connection. [https://blackvue.com/product/dr970x-2ch-lte-plus-na/](https://blackvue.com/product/dr970x-2ch-lte-plus-na/) [https://blackvue.com/product/blackvue-ultra-battery-b-130a/](https://blackvue.com/product/blackvue-ultra-battery-b-130a/) [https://blackvue.com/sim-card/](https://blackvue.com/sim-card/) It's too pricey for my budget and has features that I don't require, so I personally chose a Viofo A229 Pro about 1 1/2 years ago. Today, I'd probably go for the Viofo A329.
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →Dashcams tend to be sensitive to the type of micro SD card you put in them. Viofo recommends only a couple of different types of card for their dashcams. So there's many reasons why that reviewer's dashcam didn't capture his daughter's curb hit. I have used the Viofo A229 as well as the newer A329; both are excellent cameras. Good build quality, nice features, and highly configurable. I've had mine installed throughout two brutal Houston summers (my G70 lives outdoors) and it has survived without problem. I prefer the A329 because it can record to an SSD, which I prefer for several reasons. Good camera -- I recommend it.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →Viofo are the ones to go for imo, and seems to be the general consensus as well. Think they're a tad more expensive than Nextbase but they pay for themselves, last thing you want is to pay for a dash cam that provides blurry/dark footage. I've got the A329 and it catches license plates perfectly regardless of time of day. It cost me about £150 to get it installed (hardwired front & rear), but think that's a fairly standard price. Halfords only do it for £80 when you buy a cam from them.
r/CarTalkUK • View on Reddit →I'm almost certainly gonna go with the A329. I just learned that the 70mai A810 uses a battery and not a capacitor. Batteries are terrible for dash cams due to how hot the inside of a car gets in the summer here. 70mai apparently has a new X800/Omni 4k that has a capacitor, but it's not obtainable anywhere at this time and I want a dash cam now.
r/KiaEV6 • View on Reddit →Depends what you're looking for. Best video/pic quality for now would be Viofo A329S. They also support SSD storage which is much larger and also less prone to card failure compared to microsd card. But they lack cloud features, which blackvue excels in.
r/CarsAustralia • View on Reddit →If you hardwire it to the battery then yes, it will. You might need to buy the hardwire kit in addition to the camera set.
