VIOFO - A129 Plus Quad HD

Viofo is my go-to. I've installed a119, a229, and a129. App is a little wonky sometimes but great picture and audio.

I've got the Viofo A129 Plus (front cam only). I've had it in three different cars now and haven't had an issue yet. Fits perfectly up behind the rearview mirror so it's not always in your face. I got the viofo a129, and it won't accept power from the usb-c. It beeps for 5 minutes, then shuts off. Is the vs1 lower power?

This is just straight up false. [Almost EVERYONE is Wasting Money on Dash Cams.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4AnyhHl3_tE) Personally use a Viofo 119v3, which is 150ish. Superb dashcam, and if you want one with a rear cam too you can get the a129 plus for under 300.

Viofo brands are very reliable and one of the most common ones. I have the Viofo 129 because I figured 1440p was enough quality, and I wasn't wrong. The one above is 4k resolution. Easy install and even easier to tuck the wires. If you care enough though, their hardwiring is a seperate buy, but i heard most dash cams being hardwired in tend to always trickle battery power no matter what.

Just to add to the viofo line up... I have the a129, in the 86 and my Impreza lol Good cam for the price, not the best quality for reading plates but most cams around this price struggle with reading plates in motion

Yep, for both my CX5 and 3. The Viofos work well, while they still work. I find after 2 years they quit on me. Might be my climate. Moved to the Garmin ones and I don't like how they work as much, but they last 🤷♂️

Another vote for Viofo. They just work, and the wedge shaped 129 is almost invisible when installed well.

I installed a Viofo A129 in my 2016 Elite and it's been fantastic. I have the same thing in my truck. For the Odyssey, you'll need the long 8m cable to reach all the way to the back. I have mine hardwired so it has parking mode. They have a newer version that has a better rear camera, the A229.

No. it's more likely you needing a niche product instead of the mass marketed ones will bump up your price. Get a Viofo A129 or A229 and turn the GPS off. Also, the camera company isn't "tracking your every move" that would require a sim card and data plan which most dash cam systems don't have, they require you to be physically near the camera for a wifi connection to your phone, or for you to remove the memory card and download video to your computer.

My Viofo A129 has handled Florida weather for years.

I love my VIOFO A129 and I turn the gps off. It's easy to download video to my phone and seems to be fairly reliable one year into ownership

I just ordered this with a viofo a129 plus from them for my 23 premium. Hopefully I got the right adapter.

The cloud storage cameras cost more and the cloud storage prices from companies, such as Black Vue, aren't exactly cheap for the small amount of storage that you get. It's really not necessary either. The A129 is still a great dashcam, you'll save some money and Viofo has had plenty of time to resolve any issues with the product compared to the newer A229. Just make sure that you call out the relevant licence plate number when there is an event worth saving because any dashcam that you use might not capture it, however, your eyes might. Oh and buy a high quality memory card that's made for devices like dashcams that have a high number of read and write cycles and bigger temperature extremes.

Both cars had the viofo a129 with the rear camera too. I did have to replace the adheshive pads for both cameras from the heat over the years

VIOFO has held up great so far. Matter of fact I bought two of them one for my wife's car.

Viofo. Bought a 129 some years ago which i think died on me due to heat exposure. When that went out on me I replaced it with a viofo 229. No complaints. I just installed a viofo 329 in my wife's new car. They work great.

Just bought VIOFO front and rear for my truck.

People shit on the Viofo, but I've had nothing other than a good experience with the A129, and the fact it actually picks up license plates during the day AND at night, as well as recording at 60fps (reducing frame blur if you need to go frame by frame) for the $190 I paid for it on eBay is really good. That Linus dashcam comparison video was such an important watch as well. So many big brands just outright ripping people off.

I hardwired the Viofo A129 myself on my NA premium a while back but 4 months after installation, my car battery decided to not work bricking my entire car causing me to have to jump it and bring it to the dealership. Paid $195 for diagnostic just for them to write me a report on how I had a low voltage code and "possibly left a light on". They also suspected the dashcam to be the issue but highly doubt it as I've had other dashcams hardwired into my other cars with motion recording. Voltage was set on 12V and 24V on the VIOFO hardwire kit. Made a post a while back titled "CX50 Bricked" if you wanna see how my car was

I use Viofo A129 on my cars. It's top-rated for a reason - good price, 4K video recording, wifi connectivity, capacitor-powered (instead of batteries that bloat and degrade in heat), front and rear cameras. Newest model is now the A329.

Get a VIOFO and hardwire kit. It can do a type of sentry mode if it has constant power. I use the 119 and 129 front and rears on my vehicles, no problems in a few years so far.

+1 for VIOFO. I have the A129 for many years now and extremely good. If you don't want to go through the process of hardwiring to the camera there is an adapter from Dongar you can buy to get power from the rear view mirror. That's what I did and it works great!

problem with buy it cheap, buy it twice. I have viofoA129, it is just there working. you can't go wrong with viofo

My 8-year-old Viofo A129 is still working well, has good definition, and I like its mounting position. Good value for money.

I have the A129, didn't get the hardwire kit but ik another brz that has it and they have no complaints. What you get for the price was reasonable enough that I put the same set up in my wife's car and sold my brother on the same camera lol

I have a couple viofo A-series, they're awesome. Wolfbox is also getting popular.

I installed the viofo A129 myself using the adapter plug in the cigarette lighter, not wired direct. It was very easy to do and no problems so far. It was my first time doing something like this so I was worried about routing it under the headliner but with a little youtube help it was no issue at all!

Viofo from hachielectronics. It plugs from my fake engine noise so it doesn't have to take up usb space nor have to do any fuse voodoo.

The best cameras are the Viofos but the Fitcam is the easiest to install cleanly and looks OEM so it really depends on what you're after.
