VIOFO - A129 Duo

Been using the viofo a129 for the past 5 years and still going well. Got the package one with front and rear cam included. It can also either be hard wired (with instructions) but I just plugged it in my auxiliary port cause I cant be bothered. Just tidied up the wirings and made sure its well tucked in the headboard as well as the pillars for a clean look. One important thing to consider as well is getting a good memory card. Make sure to get at least a high endurance/class 10 and ensure to refresh it every quarter or so.

I installed the VioFo A129 front and rear dash cam system. It was pretty straightforward. Just make sure you have a trim tool from Harbor freight. I love this brand. I have yet to see anyone else with such good quality. I have the 129, 229 and the recent 329 version in my truck. No issues at all. Money well spent.

I suggest to get any Viofo besides the A229 (audio quality can turn loud at certain times), Either go with the A119 or A129, best models or either a Garmin or Thinkware, you can find some of them for under $200 or $100 and they're very easy to install!

old.reddit.com/r/dashcams is a good place to start, their sidebar / FAQ is good. It seems you need to spend ~~£150 on a good dash cam that can read number plates. I bought the dual viofo a129, seems like rlly good quality... Haven't had to use it yet, but on the things I do watch back ,quality is great. Seems like a common reccomendation to purchase.

Why not? Just watch some videos to find the best route to take and go for it. I recently took my viofo A129 Duo out of my old lease car and will put it in the P2 as soon as the temperature goes up a bit. (its still a fair bit of work so I don't want to be cold when doing it)

The best cameras are the Viofos but the Fitcam is the easiest to install cleanly and looks OEM so it really depends on what you're after.

I installed the viofo A129 myself using the adapter plug in the cigarette lighter, not wired direct. It was very easy to do and no problems so far. It was my first time doing something like this so I was worried about routing it under the headliner but with a little youtube help it was no issue at all!

I went with Viofo A129 Duo almost 6 years ago, but I only use the front cam and never set up the rear cam. It's still going strong.

I have the A129, didn't get the hardwire kit but ik another brz that has it and they have no complaints. What you get for the price was reasonable enough that I put the same set up in my wife's car and sold my brother on the same camera lol

I have the VIOFO a129 duo. The UI and app are janky but it shoots really good video. I got that adapter that's pulls power from the mirror then ran a cable up the passenger side roll bar down the back.

Get a VIOFO and hardwire kit. It can do a type of sentry mode if it has constant power. I use the 119 and 129 front and rears on my vehicles, no problems in a few years so far.

Both cars had the viofo a129 with the rear camera too. I did have to replace the adheshive pads for both cameras from the heat over the years

I have the A129 Duo for the rear camera addition, been going strong for 6 years now in extreme heat and cold.

I got a Nextbase and upgraded to a Viofo A129 Duo very quickly. The Viofo is nice and reliable. They have newer versions now

I've got both a single and a dual unit in our cars and they've been largely flawless. I've had two incidents where they seemed to glitch out and record nothing but a factory reset and they've been fine again - and we are talking two incidents over at least five years now. For the price they're a great buy IMO.

My 8-year-old Viofo A129 is still working well, has good definition, and I like its mounting position. Good value for money.

+1 for VIOFO. I have the A129 for many years now and extremely good. If you don't want to go through the process of hardwiring to the camera there is an adapter from Dongar you can buy to get power from the rear view mirror. That's what I did and it works great!

I did a lot of research and ended up going for the Viofo A129 front and back. Been very pleased with the quality! I can probably take a few videos off if you want to see.

This, they are the best. Expensive, but WORTH IT. I have a Viofo Mini one (A129? sorry, forgot name) on the windshield and on the back some random $30 bucks one that sadly does not auto-delete oldest clips when memory gets full.

I like that clean look of that dashcam. I have a 2020 and I use a Viofo with a rear camera. Cables hidden under the headliner.

The viofo a129 duo (one of the best reviewed on YouTube) can often be found for under $100 refurbished. I have personally installed 3 of them. 1 even saved me at least $5k.

I got the viofo a129, and it won't accept power from the usb-c. It beeps for 5 minutes, then shuts off. Is the vs1 lower power?

I installed a Viofo A129 in my 2016 Elite and it's been fantastic. I have the same thing in my truck. For the Odyssey, you'll need the long 8m cable to reach all the way to the back. I have mine hardwired so it has parking mode. They have a newer version that has a better rear camera, the A229.
