Vantrue - N2X

Vantru and Blackvue are highly rated. I have one in one one of my cars but not the other.

Vantrue n2x is good - it has front and interior rear facing cameras and runs off a capacitor. Do not get a dash camera with a lithium ion battery - their batteries will swell and become inoperable here in the summer heat.

I went with the Vantrue N2X. It has a forward facing and cabin camera. The cabin camera actually does a good job seeing out the side and back windows as well. Bought the power adapter from Trail Grid Pro and wired it up to my rear view mirror.

I have the Vantrue Pro N4 and I have had the N2 in the past. The N4 has a rear facing camera as well. Even if you dont do ride share the way people drive it helps prove without a doubt who was at fault.

Define cheap for people to make a recommendation. I have a Vantrue N2 that was around $199 and it works great for me.

I have a vantrue that captures front and cabin. I got it when i was driving my Crosstrek and could see my dogs in the back and it could see out the rear window. I really didn't want to wire a rear one, not as straight forward as the windshield. Anyway, it's 2k front and rear or 4k front only and has captured a lot of cool shit. Accidents, wildlife trying to commit suicide and it's kinda fun to check footage after some spirited driving. I got my daughter the newer model that connects via WiFi and she loves it.

I have a 2 channel Vantrue I've been using for about a month now. No issues and so far it's done what it's suppose to. Very easy to use.

I've got the Vantrue model with an interior camera, the kind Uber drivers use. Tons of features, including night vision, and it's got wifi so you can transfer video to your phone to show the police.

I bought a Vantrue N2 and the biggest SD card it would hold off Amazon. This model does require a computer to download the video from the SD card. It sounds to me like you would prefer something with cloud storage that you could access from your phone. Your top of the line brands like Vantrue, Nexar, and BlackVue all have models with this feature. There are budget friendly options out there. Just read reviews and cross-check with YouTube to see if the model you are interested in has a review done by someone who has bought one. And once you buy one, you can have it professionally installed if you feel uneasy doing it yourself.

Vantrue or VIOFO. They both use the Sony Starvis image sensor and have great quality. The cameras are pretty set and forget if you opt for the hardwire kit. It will turn on and off with the car and start recording as soon as it starts up. The included power adapter does the same thing if your power port in your car turns off with the ignition.

Vantrue N2 front and in cabin, works fine, haven't had to use it yet. I keep the car in the garage and only drive at night, besides taking kids to school and shopping trips, so idk what baking in the sun would do to it. Had this one for about a year now with no issues. Had some cheap Amazon one that did the same thing with shitty quality but good enough if I needed it for evidence in an accident, it lasted 3 years, I think I paid like $28 for it. It didn't even die, just the crappy micro-USB port became loose as they all do over time and it would sporadically lose connection and cycle off and on. Edit to add I don't buy anything with a micro-USB connection anymore for the same reason; I'll pay extra to get a USB-C version. Screw Uber for making the latest Beacon crappier than the old circular window mount one; no battery, downgraded from USB-C to micro-USB, and non customizable colors etc. Capitalism at work I guess.

I got the Vantrue N2X because my car has cameras recording the outside, but after a passenger jumped in front of my car on Christmas Eve (she wasn't at the pick up spot and saw me leaving the area) and tried to get me deactivated, I decided I needed interior audio to prove what she did. Lyft obviously sided with me because you can see her run to get in front of my car, but if she hadn't, I would have had no proof. It's cheaper since it doesn't have a rear camera, but still effective when it comes to false passenger claims.

I have a Vantru in the semi that I've had since late 2020, it records 24/7/365, I just replaced the memory card, but it works perfectly.

They don't do well in hot climates and in the summer here it gets over 100 f. So one day the camera just died. I started a claim and they made me make all these videos trying to get it to work. Eventually they determined it needed to be replaced and sent a new one after they recieved the dead one. The replacement didn't work either. So I had to do the entire process again. Luckily the third camera was the charm. Now I take my camera with me inside so it doesn't bake in the heat.

The app kinda sucks, I won't lie, but for me I just pull the SDcard and plop it into a reader in my PC(s) if I need the files. and its totally fine. \*\*I should add, I was looking for something that did cabin recording AND front recording was my prerogative. Its hard(er) to find a decent one that does both for a reasonable price.

There are a few bigger brands, tho you never heard of them probably. I have 2 vantru cameras in 2 cars. About $165 each. Work fine. 2 camera install for each ( front and back) get a memory card ( a heavy duty or their suggested one) This particular brand has a "capacitor battery" instead of standard battery... resists in-car heat better than a battery. They're a good idea... my daughter was in an accident, ... other I lady ran a stop sign, and luckily it was caught on a home security camera. Made it a slam dunk case... swore from that moment to put a camera in every car.

I have a Vantru dash cam. I do not recommend them at all. Get a Viofo instead.
