I second vantrue. Just hardwired it today to the fuse box. Has Bluetooth download for videos.

r/Camry • Dash cam ->Vantrue N2 front and in cabin, works fine, haven't had to use it yet. I keep the car in the garage and only drive at night, besides taking kids to school and shopping trips, so idk what baking in the sun would do to it. Had this one for about a year now with no issues. Had some cheap Amazon one that did the same thing with shitty quality but good enough if I needed it for evidence in an accident, it lasted 3 years, I think I paid like $28 for it. It didn't even die, just the crappy micro-USB port became loose as they all do over time and it would sporadically lose connection and cycle off and on. Edit to add I don't buy anything with a micro-USB connection anymore for the same reason; I'll pay extra to get a USB-C version. Screw Uber for making the latest Beacon crappier than the old circular window mount one; no battery, downgraded from USB-C to micro-USB, and non customizable colors etc. Capitalism at work I guess.

r/Dashcam • Good dashcam? ->I have a Vantrue Pro Dual hardwired in with the GPS mount and I love it. Warning with the 24 the fuse panel is buried passenger side behind the right side panel. You have to remove a few pieces of trim and the body clips are cheaply made as usual. Use removal tools and be careful. The next issue is the fuse panel is very small, not labeled and sealed water tight so you have to cut yourself a small path for the leads. Wires are completely hidden and the playback ia high def, and tracks my location / speed. You get what you pay for so remember that if you go cheap. With a big memory card this thing holds a ton of data. Has a switch to power down if its in park mode and the battery drops below a certain voltage. I bought one after I got hit by a car on my Harley in a hit and run, and then I ran accidents here in my area and found that a large majority are hit and run. Ive also had someone try to lie when I was T boned years and years ago.

Not bad, I'm ordering one now. My dashcam is a venture n2 pro with a GPS mount but the cord is only 3feet. The 12v power outlet under the radio stopped working last year. I haven't found a cable long enough with a micro USB connection.

It sounds to me like you would prefer something with cloud storage that you could access from your phone. Your top of the line brands like Vantrue, Nexar, and BlackVue all have models with this feature. There are budget friendly options out there. Just read reviews and cross-check with YouTube to see if the model you are interested in has a review done by someone who has bought one. And once you buy one, you can have it professionally installed if you feel uneasy doing it yourself.

I started a claim and they made me make all these videos trying to get it to work. Eventually they determined it needed to be replaced and sent a new one after they recieved the dead one. The replacement didn't work either. So I had to do the entire process again. Luckily the third camera was the charm. Now I take my camera with me inside so it doesn't bake in the heat.

Work fine. 2 camera install for each ( front and back) get a memory card ( a heavy duty or their suggested one) This particular brand has a "capacitor battery" instead of standard battery... resists in-car heat better than a battery. They're a good idea... my daughter was in an accident, ... other I lady ran a stop sign, and luckily it was caught on a home security camera. Made it a slam dunk case... swore from that moment to put a camera in every car.
