ROVE - R2-4K DUAL

I'm using a 256GB card (Sandisk High Endurance, item code SDSQQNR-256G-GN6IA) , so I cannot speak to anything larger being supported (but I do see others have). I've had the camera for roughly 7 months now (bought 2 of them on Amazon and with deal of the day discount, got them for $185)and I am really happy with them. The phone app isn't bad but could be better. I still use an older cell phone with the Torque app installed and use the track recorder function (I have an obd2 bluetooth adapter that interfaces with it and I have extra gauges as overlays for it) for a secondary dash cam, but it's nice to have the features of a dash cam with great night vision recording, something that a Galaxy Note 3 phone doesn't do well. 🤣 Overall the A119 is a great dash cam. I have one in my car and have been trying to convince my wife to let me install the second one I bought in her car because these days I really do believe that everyone should have a dash cam in their car. For my Firebird I went with a ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam (front and rear camera) that I'll be installing in the spring. That car already encountered a hit and run when it was parked and I wasn't in it, so I'm a little paranoid about that happening again.

Yeah, half of these don't connect to WiFi (customer reporting), won't stay on, can't download unless near cam, won't power on, etc. When the reviews of negatives outweighs the positives, I'd be leery of just throwing brands out there... (Walmart? really?) Always do your own home work. I did a google search and looked at all these 'brands' (Especially the Rove R2 and RedTiger)... Just do the research, there is a lot of 'crap' out there. One way to tell; Do the housing on various models all look alike (same batch manufacturer)?

I use a rove 4k in my car and I know alot of truckers use it also, the kit comes with a suction cup and a cig lighter power cable so you can plug it in and remove it as you like

Most 4k (that I have looked into) are actually split, or divided, like its the total including the rear cam. I have a rove, its 4k, yet not the front nor rear is actually 4k alone. So personally, I would not recommend buying less than a 4k (plus the 1080p on my rear cam is in no way near as good of quality as the front cam, can't imagine decifiering plates off it). Just my experience / opinion. Strange your videos take that long to download. A 3 min video for mine takes seconds. Idk, maybe something in your settings? Worth double-checking.

I have the Rove R2-4K Dual. It has excellent video quality and minimal side blindspots. And I really like that you can manipulate the rear camera to your preferred angle. My only complaint is, I wish it was mobile network enabled for 24/7 live view from any range, cloud upload capabilities, and real-time alerts. I've recently started looking into others that do have this feature, and so far what I've found seem to have poor video quality (not really 4k, no night vision, etc), or some other issue. Or they seem pretty good, but doesn't have all of the features I would like. Please update with what you end up getting, and your opinion 🙂

I know my dash cam Rove R2 Dual Pro has Sony Starvis 2 sensor with Platepix tech like color priority or License Plate Priority settings in video settings.

I've got rove cams front and rear in my truck and my wife's. Power is tapped from the mirror in both with the mentioned adapter. Auto on and off with the ignition and couldn't be happier.

Women drive here. Depends how your door swing (upwards or outwards sideways). If it's upwards like a sedan, you just have to fit it nicely around the windshield edges with the tool. With Rove, they gave a nice firm 3M stickers so it was easy for me to do the wiring for front camera but my door swing outwards sideways so needed it to be done through internal bits which I wasn't confident to do on my own so took to the nearest garage. It's really super simple.

I'll piggy back off what someone else said. Rove R2. Me and the wife both have them in our cars. We like them ALOT! It's like $120 bucks on Amazon, they basically do everything else the competition does. We also bought a generic mirror stem adapter for them. We have it clamped around the rear view mirror. It's flawless. Basically a set it up and leave it situation. Since our 12v plug ins are keyed to power we never have to touch it

I have been loyal to Garmin as I have had 3 so far. I had a ROVE in bewtween and it just quit after 2 years. Their support team was not helpful so I went back to garmin. My garmin 47 just lost its GPS capabilites for some reason so I am looking again. The thing I like about the garmin is the size, the magnet mount is unmatched comparied to the suction cup thing. Garmins app does suck but I don't use it. Any video I need I take out the SD card and pop into my laptop. I feel the camera quality seems to be superior to most. My question why I don't see many review comparisons with garmin in mind?

Get it off on Amazon and fix it yourself. Using Rove Dual channel so back and front is covered and it's been great so far. AD over here and as long as you're not using it unless for insurance purposes or to hand footages over to the Police, it's for your own peace of mind should the worst happen.

Mount angle looks weird imo from operations perspective. You can get Rove dual with free memory card

Viofo a139 pro was the best dashcam I had until it stopped working one day. Now i have a viofo a329s and a rove r2 -4k dual

I have a Rove R2-4K and only just started using the parking mode. I tested, and it does come on and start recording when the g sensor is triggered even with the ignition off and key removed. Mine is a bit older and is a single cam, but it says when I enable parking mode that it has an internal power source so no battery connection is required, but I did buy an ODB power adapter so the wire wasn't visible going to the USB port. I like mine so much that I bought a dual cam rove r2 for my wife's car and just bought a sl third one for my brother for Christmas. Got both (dual cam versions) for $99 and they came with a micro sd card that works fine for now but will probably replace the card sooner than if I bought a better quality one. Video quality is pretty good even on the rear cam.

Sure thing. The rove brand has an app and an SD card in the cam. You can get on the app and download footage to your phone - that was a hot seller for me.

I purchased the R2 4K dual which has the starvis 2 with discount for 339dhs. Rove has more reviews that viofo but still a good brand. Installed the rove myself, hid the wires easily. Lots of guides on it. Just the rear has a wire shown as it needs some lenght to open the rear door given its an suv. Will be more neat for a sedan. No need to pay stupid prices like 1K or more. U can easily manage installation on ur own.

I had an issue with my Viofo not saving clips. I had an accident that it didn't capture and of course the other person lied. Took 7 months of arbitration. I got a Rove 4k instead and it's great!

I have a Rove R2-4K I really like. They make a Dual front and back combo I see on Amazon for $130 marked down from $200.

The A229 pro has been good to me. The app is not great but works. Have one for my daily driver and my wife's car. My other car I've been using the ROVE R2-4K DUAL Dash Cam. Micro SD card brand and type is equally important. I didn't use the micro sd card that came with the rove. I tend to stick to the Samsung Evo line or SanDisk High Endurance Video line.
