I run a blackvue 970 dual channel dash cam. Works just like normal on my last 4 dashcams.
r/F150Lightning • Dash Cam Suggestions ->Blackboxmycar.com and Vortex Radar on YouTube do amazing reviews and comparisons. I have a Blackvue 2 channel in my wagon and just put a Viofo A329s 3 channel in my new daily. Dual mode hybrid parking recording and lots of nice features on the viofo. Though I prefer the form factor of the blackvue.
r/askcarguys • Best dash cams in 2025? Need recommendations for my first one ->VanTrue, Viofo, and Blackvue are it. Father got a VanTrue e3, friend got a Viofo 229 I think, and I have a Blackvue All solid cameras, haven't had any issues. As far as 24/7 parking mode goes, I have a dr970x either the normal or plus I hardwired to the fusebox and that's been recording great -- Edit: didn't see the mention of radar detection If you want a radar detector, just get one separate. I have a friend who had an escort cam and he's been having some issues with it and I don't know much else otherwise in favor it I run an escort max360 that I hardwired as a mirror tap and that's been great too - haven't had any issues with my car's battery either and it's probably a year now since I rigged it up. Escorts have reported alerts from others as well as camera heads-up if you link the app on your phone with your radar detector -- Edit 2: After edit 1, I remembered seeing a [Reddit post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Dashcam/s/i22Io2pLEz) a few months ago that I commented on and it was on a negative experience about someone else's escort cam malfunctioning Hope this helps and I wish you the best in your decision :)
r/Dashcam • Recommendations for front and back dash cam. ->For great cloud connectivity and remote live viewin, I bought a Blackvue DR970X-2CH LTE PLUS for my 23 Forester Wilderness and had Best Buy geek squad install it for $100 ..but they won't install dash cameras that have a screen on them because of safety reasons and I'm glad I didn't get one of those.
r/SubaruForester • Dash cam? ->if heat is the concern, make sure to buy a dash cam that has supercapacitors rather than batteries. i have had the BlackVue DR970x Plus which proved bulletproof during the hottest Summer on record last year. my credit cards and ID's all had to be replaced because they melted and warped, but the BlackVue keeps running without issues. other brands that use capacitors, Viofo, Vantrue and Thinkware. Viofo tends to get the most love around here (for good reasons), but i hated the aesthetics of it and how it looked on my windshield. I was able to stealth-mount the BlackVue in a manner where it's hidden out of my view behind the rear view mirror.
r/phoenix • Dash cam recommendations that hold up to the heat? ->I got Audi dashcam from CPO it was terrible. 1080p quality, who use 1080p anymore its unusable during night time, and the process to save the video was also terrible. Then i move to blackvue something, now its 4k, automatically connect to your phone, and easier to save the file
r/Audi • Dashcams - Audi's or Aftermarket? ->Most dashcams will do what you're asking. Night recording, license plate capture, history, etc. But there will be trade offs in terms of subscription vs storage and setup. 4k video is about 100MB per minute for storage. If you're keeping more than a few hours of video onboard, that's going to require a large (high endurance/extreme) SD card. 512GB up to 1TB. Unless you transfer video off daily, it will overwrite itself. Some people have written apps to do background transfers (i.e. Blackvuesync) to a server but that will require infrastructure and network access. Unless you park close to your Wi-Fi AP, you'll have to pay for cellular access. I've done what you're asking but it does require some effort. Blackvue DR970X in both cars plus LiFePO4 batteries. Park within Wi-Fi range and run a NAS with Docker to host the Blackvue app. Works great but it does have it's challenges. Or you could pay for a dashcam subscription.

I have a Blackvue front/rear. Solid units and they stand up to the nasty summer heat here.
r/Miata • Dashcam for ND Miatas question.... ->I went with a Blackvue 970X-2CH Box. Liked that this unit had a control module that you can mount under the dash or other location. For me I wanted 2 cameras, parking mode, and high quality video in as small of a package as possible. This met that need. I have the Mountains 2 Metal attic shelf and was able to mount the rear camera to that. (I've got a soft top)
r/FordBronco • Dash cams? ->I just got the Blackvue dr970x 2 ch installed yesterday. Hardwired to the 12v battery for parking mode. https://preview.redd.it/8655rx0uhkme1.jpeg?width=1206&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c45a2daa517c4b81bc7e83e1cdb8fa00126a210d
r/BYD • View on Reddit →I have a BlackVue 970X Plus dual channel, with a BlackVue battery installed hidden in the centre console. Makes getting high quality 4K video more quickly than the inbuilt cameras. Using 512GB memory card, which when removed and seen by my Mac, shows both videos and mapping, together with speed. Might have a deterrent effect as it has a visible white light that pulses. This model has a cloud connection to immediately upload to BlackVue servers for remote retrieval.
r/TeslaLounge • View on Reddit →Blackvue 770x or 970x both 2-channel. Use battery backup as well. Install was straightforward.
r/Subaru_Outback • View on Reddit →BlackVue DR970x plus. I have one in all 3 of my Subarus and a Honda. Saved my butt when I got rear ended and was blamed for slamming on my brakes. Video evidence showed way different.
r/SubaruAscent • View on Reddit →I picked up a dual channel blackvue. It records front and back. I used a fuse tap to power it both during driving and while parked. I've had it for ~9 months. Love it.
r/VWiD4Owners • View on Reddit →I've had a lot of success with the Blackvue Range. The DR770X is a great model. If a little on the pricey side. The DR970X has 4k resolution. Feel free to contact me if you need any help 😊
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →Ignore the judgmental types... okay, let's swing for the fence on this. Look in the right sidebar and you'll see a list of recommendations. I suggest the [BlackVue DR970 LTE ](https://www.blackboxmycar.com/products/blackvue-dr970x-2ch-lte-plus-4k-uhd-cloud-dash-cam)model listed. The LTE provides a cell signal so it's connected to the cloud for you to see location, live feed and videos. You can also configure notifications if the car has been hit, which can be so sensitive it reports someone pushing against it. While you're at it, I also recommend getting a battery pack like [this one](https://www.blackboxmycar.com/products/blackboxmycar-powercell-8-dash-cam-battery-pack) so the dashcam isn't drawing on the car's battery to remain powered during parking mode. The battery pack should record over 24 hours, depending on the settings, and will be fully recharged after about 30 minutes of driving.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →Blackvue 970 hardwired with a Blendmount. Flawless execution but resolution is not as good as it should be.
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →Ur final buy is probably going to be dictated by price. I've been using BlackVue cameras for the past 10 years or so, and I upgrade every few years. Definitely one of the best (but not the cheapest) dashcam out there. My current one has front and rear cameras and built in LTE module for remote viewing, when the car is parked up and I'm not close buy, as well as remote event notifications. (DR970X)
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →If budget is of no concern, Blackview DR970 is the only choice.
r/drivingsg • View on Reddit →I have this as well. I actually caught the peripheral part of a police shooting on it. The cops did not want me to leave until I had downloaded the footage and sent it to them. I sent them both front and back views and they could not believe the quality of the footage.
r/GolfGTI • View on Reddit →I like how you had to add Black Edition like it matters with the dash cam lol I got a 4K BlackVue with front and rear. The app is bunk. But I also don't have the cellular add on. And the footage only lasts for 24hrs so if I don't download it that day it's gone forever
r/hondaridgeline • View on Reddit →As a dr970x plus owner i can help you rule out blackvue. Do not buy. The video quality is not worthy of its price. I love the form factor though. App is alright
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →I had one failure of my 12v about 3 months after install. I'm unsure if it was related to the dashcam, but I haven't had an issue since...and nothing noticeable on battery life. The picture is phenomenal... And I installed it myself too, which is saying something. I'm not the best at DIY projects.... But couldnt stomach a $600-$800 install cost I was finding.
r/VWiD4Owners • View on Reddit →If you can get any BlackVue 2 Channel on sale , they're easily the best dash cam I've ever used
r/australia • View on Reddit →I had a Blackvue DR970x 2CH professionally installed and I've had no problems. I only care about recording when I'm driving so I have it configured to shut down when the car is off, so no issues with draining the battery. I've checked in once in a while to make sure it's actually recording but so far I've had no need to download video.
r/Golf_R • View on Reddit →Rather than supporting Amazon's evil ways and potentially getting a counterfeit product, I recommend supporting a smaller retailer that's going to offer you a decent price, actual support, and knowledgeable reviews. I usually order from [https://www.blackboxmycar.com/](https://www.blackboxmycar.com/) and have been very happy with their service. Now, since you asked for "best" and not "best at a reasonable price" I think you'll be looking at a Thinkware U3000 Pro (4K front and 2K rear), BlackVue DR970X-2CH (4k front and HD rear cameras) or VIOFO A329T (4K front and 2K rear cameras). I personally like the Viofo ones better because of the screen, but they don't have cloud capabilities. So, if you want to protect yourself from auto theft, where the camera leave along with the car, then you'll want something that's cloud-enabled like the BlackVue. In reality, each of the options above are way more cameras than anyone needs and are likely more expensive than what you're willing to pay. Each manufacturer also offers decent cameras with similar specs for much less. But without knowing your price point and you looking for "the best", those are it. For me, I'm more concerned about recording while driving and watching out for parking lot dings, so I'm fine with the Viofo. I have the A229 Pro in two of my cars and they have been flawless (https://www.blackboxmycar.com/products/viofo-a229-pro-4k-uhd-3-ch-dash-cam). It's available as a front (1ch), front+rear (2ch), or front+rear+inside (3ch) option.

r/SubaruForester • View on Reddit →Blackvue dashcam front and back, hardwired. Cost less than 1K. I'd say a g owner it'd be a chumchange to your peace of mind.
r/AMG • View on Reddit →You'd get better advice from the nerds in the dashcam subreddits. But I have a blackvur and it's great. Typically Viofo is the one to get though.

r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →I've got a Blackvue DR970x-2ch. The newer version of it is the DR979x-2ch Plus II. This has the Sony Starvis 2 sensor like recommended in other posts. They're very reliable cameras since they don't have batteries in them. Dash Cams with batteries stand a higher chance of exploding in the heat of a parked car. Make sure you use a high endurance micro sd card since the camera deletes the oldest videos as time goes by. The card will have a ton of reads and writes so the basic cards won't cut it. You set the cameras up with your phone and the images from the cameras will show on the screen. This is how you'll align the cameras to make sure they get the best view. Check the videos on the card or the live feed from the cameras from time to time to make sure everything is still working.

r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →I run a viofo a229 pro in my car, my mom's car, and my dad's car, and a blackvue DR970X-2CH in my wife's car. Both are great. Personally I like the app on the viofo a little better, but I like the camera design on the blackvue better. Both have great image quality, with the edge going to the blackvue, but only slightly. Install was about the same on both. I ran the cables in such a way that they were hidden almost entirely. The blackvue rear camera cable connector being smaller, made that task much much easier due to the path I took. How much are you willing to spend? Personally, I would go for something a little higher quality, since generally speaking, you get what you pay for. The viofo goes on sale pretty regularly, so it might not be a bad place to start.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →I had a Blackvue DR970x-2CH professionally installed. The front cam is not visible from the driver's seat (it's hidden from view by the rear view mirror). I can see the rear cam in the rear view mirror but it's not problematic at all. All interaction with the cam is done via the app while I'm in the car (I didn't opt for the LTE option which allows for remote access).
r/GolfGTI • View on Reddit →I got the best one at the time, which was around $1000 for the dashcam and $300 for the battery pack. But Black Vue sell all sorts, just make sure you have a dual cam, that is front and rear.
r/melbourne • View on Reddit →Bought the Blackvue 970x LTE 2CH for my old truck and swapping it put into my new truck this week. Don't be put off by the pricing or plans - I just use the cloud free version and it works just fine. Got an LTE sim from my cell provider and slapped it in there. Camera clarity day and night has been excellent. Saw another nod for the Vantrue which was my second choice and ended up just going with the Blackvue because my guy who helps me with my truck recommended it because he installs a ton of them. There are a few sites out there that compare all of the top brands and current versions that detail out the pros/cons of each one - best to just make your choice from there and what features matter the most to you.

r/dashcams • View on Reddit →I run the BlackVue two channel and have it hardwired to the fuse box. Run all the cords through the head liner and side pillars. It's pretty hidden almost to the point I forget it's there. The rear camera is visible but very small and cords are running through the headliner so you only see it when it's coming out direct to the camera (an inch or two of exposed cord).
r/GolfGTI • View on Reddit →BlackVue comes out with new models annually. So mine is now discontinued, they have even better ones now. Right now, I would buy this one in 2 Channel with a 128 GB card. [https://blackvue.com/dashcams/4k-cloud/](https://blackvue.com/dashcams/4k-cloud/) I also did a Billet aluminum mount to hold the camera and allows for quick tooless detach, instead of glueing the included mount to the windshield. Then when you want to switch it to another vehicle it is easy, quick and no tools. A lot of people own dash cams, how many have had to use theirs in a major collision that resulted in a multi million dollar lawsuit as I am dealing with now. Without that DC I would be screwed.
