I've installed Blackvue cams (2Ch) in all of my cars. All were easily hidden behind the rearview except the 2024 model Toyota that has a lot more features that fit in the space behind the mirror. For that car, the camera sits a little below the mirror and is not completely tucked out of view.
r/Dashcam • Best discreet dash cam w/o a screen ->I have a BlackVue 2 channel system in my 2017 [*trim level redacted so Shamy Shamerson doesn't call me out, too*].
r/hondaridgeline • Updated list of the best dash cams ->Blackboxmycar.com and Vortex Radar on YouTube do amazing reviews and comparisons. I have a Blackvue 2 channel in my wagon and just put a Viofo A329s 3 channel in my new daily. Dual mode hybrid parking recording and lots of nice features on the viofo. Though I prefer the form factor of the blackvue.
r/askcarguys • Best dash cams in 2025? Need recommendations for my first one ->I've had a Blackvue DR900X 2-channel (front and rear) for years. Had it hardwired into my M235i, pulled it out when I traded that in for my i4, and have been using it in the i4 for almost 3 years. I haven't hardwired it in to the i4 because I've been super lazy so I've only been using the front camera, and the 12v outlet. Whatever I get when this lease ends in May next year will get it hardwired in front and rear again. The picture quality is great, and although I used to really hate the app, they have made improvements recently that have made it better. I've also heard great things about Viofo dashcams, but have never used one.
r/BMWI4 • Dashcam recommendation ->A little out of your price range but 70mai A810 is really good. I have it on most of my cars. I have a couple of A800s, which are pretty good (and closer to your budget) and a BlackVue 900s and 900x. BlackVue cameras are good quality but the app is so bad. I'm considering replacing both my BlackVue with the upcoming 70mai T800 camera (they are having a Kickstarter now - launches in August 2025)
r/kereta • Best dashcam? ->I got Audi dashcam from CPO it was terrible. 1080p quality, who use 1080p anymore its unusable during night time, and the process to save the video was also terrible. Then i move to blackvue something, now its 4k, automatically connect to your phone, and easier to save the file
r/Audi • Dashcams - Audi's or Aftermarket? ->I've been using a Blackvue DR900X-2CH 4K dashcam for the past 4 years. It was a backup to the Tesla dashcam (known to be glitchy and miss recording early on), and I moved it to my Polestar 3 after selling the Tesla. I run it off the Blackvue Power Magic Ultra Battery B-124X for parking mode and battery drain protection. I plug the 12v adapter into the car's 12v socket to power the battery and set it to B-124X battery (not car battery) only mode when parked. The camera is plugged intot he B-124X and switches to parking mode after motion is not detected for about 1 minute. During driving, no drain at all. If you don't have a battery backup, then I'd set the camera to shut off w/ the car is parked instead of using parking mode.
r/Polestar • Best dash cams? ->Blackvue 900 works for me, front and rear. Minimalistic look.
r/Audi • Dash Cam Recommendations for 24' SQ8 ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

I have had a Blackvue 900X in my 2022 ORP and love it. Rear view came in handy a few months ago. Check my post history in r/dashcams.
r/4Runner • Front and rear dash cam suggestions! ->Same dashcam on our Outback but a B124X battery that runs the dashcam for up to 24 hours whilst parked. https://preview.redd.it/lpnq0dn19gbf1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e6f04f3824f7604357bc26b041e0bdffad368c5
r/subaru • View on Reddit →I have a somewhat older DR900X 2 channel. Excellent camera. 2nd Forester for the camera.
r/SubaruForester • View on Reddit →I got mine from Black Vue after reading up on them. I paid about $249. Promptly got rear ended a month later and it paid for itself. I knew nothing about dash cams but their site was informative
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →I had one failure of my 12v about 3 months after install. I'm unsure if it was related to the dashcam, but I haven't had an issue since...and nothing noticeable on battery life. The picture is phenomenal... And I installed it myself too, which is saying something. I'm not the best at DIY projects.... But couldnt stomach a $600-$800 install cost I was finding.
r/VWiD4Owners • View on Reddit →Viofo's are a great value, but be cautious if you live in a high heat area. After 6 months of living in Phoenix (very hot summers, like 115 degrees), my A129 Pro Duo died. Replaced it under warranty and the second died within the next year because of over heating. Did thorough research and picked up a BlackVue 900X Plus and it's been rock solid for the last 2 years.
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →Dongar mirror adapter makes it cake, I just went with the garmin 67w, works great. Did a blackvue DR900x in the wife's car and it's great! For the price difference and easy install I'm happy with the garmin.
r/tundra • View on Reddit →I'm running an older Blackvue, DR900X. Get one with the Starvis 2 sensor, it's a big leap in quality. Avoid ones with an internal battery, you want one with a super capacitor. Ones with battery are junk. Stick with a name brand, some good examples are Blackvue, Thinkware and Viofo. Garmin are decent, but their tech is a bit dated. If it's less than about $100 for a front only and $150 for a dual channel, it's probably junk.
r/Subaru_Outback • View on Reddit →I live in South Louisiana and I've had a regular BlackVue (non-box model) for 7 years. Never had any issues with overheating. And my second one is the 900X which is prone to overheating.
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →Blackvue forward and back camera on mine 750 or 900 series are great!
r/f150 • View on Reddit →I have a DR900X 2 channel with an external battery in my 2025 Sport. BlackVue is not cheap but in 5 years and 2 cars I've never had an issue.
r/SubaruForester • View on Reddit →Yeah the app sucks. It's so easy to pull footage with the SD and an [OTG USBC reader](https://imgur.com/a/B3vuSbR) though. Gotta go with Blackvue or Thinkware for a quality app level experience. But that comes at an extra cost.
r/GolfGTI • View on Reddit →I have a Blackvue DR900X Plus. Does ok as sometimes plate numbers are hard to read, and the "Plus" brings a rear facing cam as well. I have had it for a few years and it was installed in the Wrangler I had before.
r/JeepGladiator • View on Reddit →For fleet we often do blackvue DR-series with a tamperproof case. That way, it can not be unplugged. Some options for LTE models for remote viewing capabilities. Pricing will vary depending on where you are.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →We got a Blackvue DR900X front and rear dash cam with battery backup so that it will record while the vehicle is parked. The installers did a great job of hiding all the wires.
r/Taycan • View on Reddit →You'll need to run a separate battery to it for it not to kill your car battery. I ran a dual channel BlackVue and it worked well and always recorded without killing the car battery and then you are stranded. I've had both setups in different cars and the extra battery is definitely the way to go.
r/Dashcam • View on Reddit →You'd get better advice from the nerds in the dashcam subreddits. But I have a blackvur and it's great. Typically Viofo is the one to get though.
r/gmcsierra • View on Reddit →BlackVue comes out with new models annually. So mine is now discontinued, they have even better ones now. Right now, I would buy this one in 2 Channel with a 128 GB card. [https://blackvue.com/dashcams/4k-cloud/](https://blackvue.com/dashcams/4k-cloud/) I also did a Billet aluminum mount to hold the camera and allows for quick tooless detach, instead of glueing the included mount to the windshield. Then when you want to switch it to another vehicle it is easy, quick and no tools. A lot of people own dash cams, how many have had to use theirs in a major collision that resulted in a multi million dollar lawsuit as I am dealing with now. Without that DC I would be screwed.
r/ChevyTahoe • View on Reddit →I had a BlackVue 2 channel in my 2019 Sport and moved it to my 2025 Sport when I traded for it. The camera was hardwired in both cases. If you entertain the idea of a parking camera get a separate battery for the camera. You'll get better recording life.
r/SubaruForester • View on Reddit →I have a Blackvue DR900x that's worked in both my gen2 and now my gen3 For my Gen3, I used the following to mount it: Blendmount Mirror Mount as I have a tinted windshield. Dongar Adapter to tie into the overhead OEM adapter (above the sunglass/light console). You can get it with either constant or accessory power, but the adapter has all the wires so I just spliced into what I needed (rather splice the adapter then the OEM plug). 1" custom bracket from thedashcamstore for the rear window mount (this works for both gens)
r/tundra • View on Reddit →I like how you had to add Black Edition like it matters with the dash cam lol I got a 4K BlackVue with front and rear. The app is bunk. But I also don't have the cellular add on. And the footage only lasts for 24hrs so if I don't download it that day it's gone forever
r/hondaridgeline • View on Reddit →Blackvue DR900X because of the smaller size. Zero issues with eyesight
r/subaru • View on Reddit →I use Blackvue 900x and above 4k and has parking mode and wifi connectivity! I can even show you videos of the quality of it. A bit pricy. Has low voltage but I do notice if I don't drive for a week it does weaken. So I just disconnect it when it sits in my garage or drive way if I store the car.
r/Lexus • View on Reddit →There's an Audi dashcam? Hmm.. I have a blackvue 2 channel camera which is very nice and sleek. It hides well on the front and rear window. My only gripes are: 1) The app. It's a complete pain in the ass to view any footage and it won't update the firmware because the dashcam connects to my phone via wifi and if it's connected via wifi, there's not any actual Internet access from the cellular signal so it can never update 🤣 what a joke. There are other ways to update the firmware, but I can't be bothered lol And 2) it records in minute increments, which makes viewing footage a pain. There are an enormous number of files associated with a day of driving. Other than those 2 points, it's a great dashcam and overall, I do recommend it.
r/Audi • View on Reddit →I upgraded from an older BlackVue to the DR900X 2CH and it's been rock solid. The front 4K camera captures every detail even at night and the rear 2K unit makes reading license plates a breeze.
r/dashcams • View on Reddit →I got the best one at the time, which was around $1000 for the dashcam and $300 for the battery pack. But Black Vue sell all sorts, just make sure you have a dual cam, that is front and rear.
r/melbourne • View on Reddit →I have a blackvue 2 channel system. Had it.... 5 or 6 years now. Been solid - never comes out of my truck other than to pull videos a couple times a year. Lens still in good condition etc. This was from yesterday. Just make sure you get a good quality SD Card - dash cams are hard on them. r/NoRulesCalgary • View on Reddit →Still have my BlackVue DR900X 2 channel from my 2019 Sport. Custom mount behind/below the mirror. Still works great.
r/SubaruForester • View on Reddit →I'm running the BlackVue 900X 2 channel running on a external battery so that it will continue to record while it's parked. 4k front video & 1080p rear
r/Challenger • View on Reddit →I picked up a dual channel blackvue. It records front and back. I used a fuse tap to power it both during driving and while parked. I've had it for ~9 months. Love it.
r/VWiD4Owners • View on Reddit →I bought a used BlackVue off of eBay (so slightly more affordable, but still expensive) and it's been doing great in the heat. Have been running it for 3 years. DR900X
r/phoenix • View on Reddit →Something like a Viofo or Blackvue 2ch (with a hardwire kit) is what you're seeking. I personally run Viofo's A129 Duo (there's a much newer variant of this, the A229).
r/GolfGTI • View on Reddit →Blackvue 900 works for me, front and rear. Minimalistic look.
r/Audi • View on Reddit →I have BlackVue in 3 of my vehicles and expect to add another when my Land Cruiser comes in the ned of this month. I used the BlackVue in one accident and the insurance company said it was the highest quality video they ever saw.
r/ChevyTahoe • View on Reddit →I have it wire to an external battery. The external battery only pulls power from the car when I drive. When in park mode the dash cam will run & pull power off the external battery. Once the external battery dies the dash cam will just stop recording. My memory chip is 125 so the camera will rewrite over the older footage after about 11 hours
r/Challenger • View on Reddit →If you can get any BlackVue 2 Channel on sale , they're easily the best dash cam I've ever used
r/australia • View on Reddit →The only thing I would be tempted to get is the Window tint, only if you have ambient lighting in the car. Only because, if something goes wrong then the dealer is liable for the installation and subsequent repair, and they can't claim any further issues with warranty. For the price they're quoting you, that should be ceramic tint too. Everything else is over priced. I had a 2channel BlackVue installed for under $1k (Including cost of cameras). The paint protection can be done later too.
r/CarsAustralia • View on Reddit →BlackVue DR900X is brilliant kit. Lovely parking mode and cloud recording, small and unobtrusive for front and rear recording.
r/CarTalkUK • View on Reddit →Currently using a Blackvue two-channel model on our 2021 XV. Never had any issues. Dashcam is married to a Blackvue B112 battery that keeps the dashcam independent of the car battery and can run the dashcam for up to 12 hours whilst parked. https://preview.redd.it/tr3bu7gr8gbf1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=29a03356c531767120add2fceb922c5efee4258a
r/subaru • View on Reddit →I run the BlackVue two channel and have it hardwired to the fuse box. Run all the cords through the head liner and side pillars. It's pretty hidden almost to the point I forget it's there. The rear camera is visible but very small and cords are running through the headliner so you only see it when it's coming out direct to the camera (an inch or two of exposed cord).
