Depends. I live in a city. A cheap stroller won't last for the amount of time I'll need it for. The uppababy ones were crucial for me. If you're in the burbs I'd largely agree with you.
r/daddit • Never knew baby strollers were so expensive. What's next ? ->We have the Mountain Buggy Nano which does "fit" the Cosco Scenera. For whatever reason, our 3yo has decided it's her preferred stroller over our Uppababy so we've used it A LOT in the past few months. As an everyday stroller, it's just ok. I miss the Uppababy's much smoother ride. The big plus is that our kid really likes it. It's a little small. I'm 5'8" and it's a hair too short for me. Both my husband and I have accidentally engaged the brake by taking a big step. The folding/unfolding mechanism is not intuitive, and requires two hands and emptying out nearly all the storage, so it's best used like a regular stroller that you happened to bring on a plane or in a car, it's not something that makes trains and buses that much easier other than being lightweight.
r/nycparents • Cosco Scenera Travel Stroller Rec ->We have a Cosco Scenera seat mainly for getting to and from airports, occasionally to get around the city. Our strollers are an Uppababy Vista, which can accommodate the car seat in the basket, and the Mountain Buggy Nano which has a universal infant car seat attachment system and a supposedly popular toddler carseat attachment hack. All that being said, we almost never go anywhere that requires that we lug the car seat with us at the destination. It's too much equipment. These clever travel ideas don't account for all the toddler stuff we have to carry around anyway, so getting either stroller perfectly packed so that they can go into a car trunk without raining out a bag's worth of stale cracker crumbs only happens if we're flying. What we actually do is 1) check if the destination has coat check or stroller parking to leave the car seat there, 2) figure out how to get there via public transportation with the travel stroller and/or a toddler carrier (apparently I'm often the only person that's ever worn a 2yo because people were constantly surprised to see my giant monster of a child looming over them), or we put off going until kid is out of the car seat and ready for a booster/harness. Our wishlist of city destinations isn't that long, just take the subway.
r/nycparents • Life After Doona? ->I got one of these for free (the benefit of being the last of my siblings to have kids lol) and I find it good for shopping. I have an SUV though so getting it in and out isn't much of a problem. I wouldn't even bother on our Canadian sidewalks with it though. Especially in winter or spring with the ice salt and gravel on the roads I don't think we'd make it far. I got a second have BOB stroller... I freaking love that thing. I take it on forest paths all the time, and through the snow the other day lol. but nothing will ever outdo the ergo baby carrier. I have 4 different carriers (I didn't buy any of them) and my child still lives in the ergo baby. I used it to fly internationally and I'm so happy I didn't bother with a stroller.
r/newborns • Seven Things That Helped Us in Our First 6 Months of Parenthood ->We arent sure about #2 and it will probably be a couple years if it happens, so went with the Cruz with bassinet and Aria carseat. We have a car so wont be using Uber much. Plan to get the yoyo for subway travel. Uppababy has a service center relatively close by in Brooklyn which is super helpful if anything goes wrong. There were also some recalls on Nuna items recently, so between those factors and recs from friends, we went with the Uppababy system. Very happy so far. Ultimately your stroller choice is very lifestyle dependent.
r/nycparents • Best stroller/travel system ->This is exactly what I did too! Used Uppababy Vista and then a new Aria car seat. The aria car seat did go up $150 because of the tariffs but was still more reasonable than others, and compatible with the UB Vista.
r/BabyBumps • Please just tell me what stroller to buy ->I got an uppa baby vista v2, with second seat, all adapters, a piggy back board and a few other accessories for $400 off of fb marketplace. Most of the stuff is washable too so once I got it home I really cleaned it up. Even if you have the money; I don't get buying these things new... (except a car seat of course) it's gonna get beat up, covered in crumbs, juice, pouches and maybe even a little poop at times.
r/beyondthebump • Is everyone on baby/parenting subs rich?!? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

I have a Veer 3yr old and a 4 month old. Costco trips are great, heavy af though.. takes up a lot of space. Could do without and just stick with the Uppababy stroller with the double seat attachments
r/Parenting • Stroller Wagons Worth the Hype? ->2. Vista (but I wish I go the Cruz) and Joolz Aer for car/travel once she was older.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [ON] How many strollers did you end up having? ->We have an ikea crib and ingenuity bassinet (which is LARGE!! we loved this for our daughter who was always 95% percentile in length. She was able to stay in bassinet until 5 months. Clek liing infant car seat! (Canadian!) We have the guzzie and guss oxygen2 travel stroller (canadian and we LOVE!) because it fits in overhead on airplane and it lays flat for infants! We also have the uppababy vista! But honestly I would've gotten the Cruz if the vista hadn't gone on sale on black Friday. We love this stroller for all our walks in the city. For a convertible car seat we have the britax poplar. Honestly this one you should pick based on what will fit in your car the best!
r/BabyBumpsCanada • [on] Looking for crib + stroller + car seat recommendations ->Agree- I actually have all 3! Got the vista and urban glide used for less than $400 combined. I liked the vista for the first 6-9 months for self facing//errands/cozy winter ganoosh but LOVED and continue to love the urban glide for older baby and toddler. Such a smooth ride and gets over curbs, snow, ice, trails, etc. But definitely think of where you are storing/how big your trunk is. We're lucky to have a covered porch but have compact cars.
r/NewParents • Strollers - what did you wish you knew before you bought? ->Personally i don't think there is a stroller that will fit both 1 and 2. Usually strollers that are good in snow will be jogging strollers or at least strollers with larger wheels. Even uppababy vista will get stuck in the snow and slush. Personally I have an everyday stroller that's easy to fold (in my case I have a Cruz) and a secondary stroller for winter (i bought a BOB on marketplace for $100).
r/BabyBumpsCanada • View on Reddit →That's exactly it! Sometimes the vista gets so much hate but I'm like people are buying it for the wrong reason! Not the strollers fault lol
r/UninfluencedReviews • View on Reddit →Started with the UppaBaby Vista V2 for baby #1 because I knew I wanted a double stroller. Loved it for long day trips and using it with the bassinet and Nuna Pippa car seat but it is heavy. I got the Bugaboo Butterfly and it's our daily stroller. Absolutely the best baby purchase I've made. We now won't be able to use it as much with baby #2 on the way but I plan on using it alongside a baby carrier or even a ride along board if possible. Excited to use the Vista V2 as a double even though I've heard mixed reviews
r/BabyBumpsCanada • View on Reddit →We got the Uppababy Vista V2, needed for cobblestone streets. It's fantastic, very sturdy with big wheels and fits groceries etc in the bottom.
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →Have you tried both of these strollers in person? Not sure where you are located but most Nordstroms typically carry both and their baby gear experts can walk you through the differences. The quality of the bugaboo fabric & build felt better as well as suspension. The uppababy strollers I tried felt cheap in comparison. Bugaboo Butterfly is worth getting for travel alone! We started using it when our son was maybe 5 months old and that's all we use now. We're at Disneyland this week and have a Thule jogging stroller and the Silver Cross Wave and Bugaboo Butterfly. Brought the Butterfly on this trip and are so glad we did!
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →If you can keep it downstairs, then the Vista is excellent. It is so smooth even on bumpy sidewalks and off the path in parks. The basket is huge, so you can do nice grocery hauls or spend all day outside without having to hold your bags. It's our everyday stroller, and I can't recommend it enough. I've used it on the train as well; it's totally fine for elevators but heavy if you have to carry it. I do have a travel stroller (Colugo) as well, and while I like it for out of town, it isn't great on bumpy sidewalks or street construction.
r/nycparents • View on Reddit →Some stores to check out and explore options are: West coast kids (got my uppa baby here and the staff was wonderful and patient), Snuggle bugz or babies r us. I highly recommend going in and doing a test run of some of the ones you see online. I initially wanted a nuna and changed my mind after a store visit.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • View on Reddit →This all makes sense. I would recommend finding a store with the Minu and Cruz so that you can compare sizes-you might decide you only need one (or, alternatively, that you definitely want both). We did an Uppababy travel system (Vista V2, Mesa car seat, bassinet) and found it super easy to use, even when flying. We gatechecked our Vista base and carried the car seat onto the plane, so you can do that with the Cruz or Minu.
r/nycparents • View on Reddit →I wanted an Uppababy and ended up having to just buy it online because I couldn't find it anywhere locally. I know Once Upon a Child in Monroeville and North Hills has used strollers, but it's very limited selection. But if you stalk their Instagram they usually post new things daily, so you can see if a side-by-side comes in.
r/pittsburgh • View on Reddit →Uppababy Vista. The full travel system with the car seat, bassinet and toddler seat, and the stand for the bassinet. Stupidly expensive but it's a beast, it's been used practically every day for 2.5 years and it's still good as new, the bassinet is safe sleep approved and you can put it on a stand so he slept in it in the living room for months till he got too big for it. They offer a free service every year too, haven't used it yet but it good to know i can get it tuned up if needed
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →we got the UB vista. honestly, it was the most popular stroller in our neighborhood and in general its everywhere when i was researching strollers. we loved the under storage and flexibility (bassinet to toddler seat) as your child grows, our dog loves riding underneath 😅 its a smooth ride and sturdy as hell. definitely agree w/ some of the comments saying you get what you pay for, ive tried other strollers and they feel flimsy and hard to navigate. we live in a city so the stroller is sometimes our car when were on walks/go to the park/etc. we also use it to haul groceries.
r/beyondthebump • View on Reddit →Bugaboo Kangaroo is far superior to the Uppababy. We have a Silver Cross Wave but if I were to go back and do it all over again I'd get a Bugaboo all the way. We do have the Bugaboo Butterfly as our travel stroller and use that way more (fits in overhead bin on airplane!)
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →I hadn't really used FB in years, but it is seriously amazing for baby stuff! I got a halo bassinet for free, an Uppababy stroller for $250, and sooo many clothes for like $1-2 each or free. People genuinely just want to get rid of things!!
r/NewParents • View on Reddit →Uppababy Vista with bassinet. Nuna Pipa Aire. $50 conversion piece to allow you to clip the Nuna seat into UB stroller. Best combo ever. Then if you have a second baby, you just need to grab an additional rumble seat for the UB once they're older. If you need a travel stroller, LOVEEEE the Nuna TRVL.
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →I'll never regret getting my Uppababy, it was expensive but it's a beast I don't drive so it's been used practically daily for 3 years and it's still perfect, not so much as a wobbly wheel and the size of the basket in the bottom is amazing, I can fit a few days worth of groceries in it, and the bassinet is approved for safe sleep so we were able to use that in the living room for naps till he outgrew it. I could go on, I sound like an ad but seriously it's the best thing we bought for our kid
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →We were in the same boat last year thinking uppa baby vista v2 was the right choice until I tried it in the store. It was just way too heavy. Didn't seem suitable for the city/subway (I wasn't in nyc at that time but was expected to move soon) either. We then researched on the lightest strollers and ended up deciding on bugaboo butterfly and I cannot stress how happy we are with that decision. It is insanely lightweight. It's also IATA approved which means you don't need a secondary travel stroller for your vacations. We put it in the overhead compartment so don't have any wear/tear from airline travel. Has a great basket for groceries/basket at the bottom and also opens and closes with one hand. I think the nuna trvl is also a great choice similar to this so you should def check these out.
r/nycparents • View on Reddit →Got the same stroller as well! Totally fits our lifestyle and converts to double. I know lots of people complain about it was a double but where I live, it's 80% of the strollers you see everywhere. I see a lot of Cruz and Minu's too for singles
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →It's way too big. I got it thinking it would be great for when we have two kids - planning ahead. But it's so damn bulky, so heavy. I got a bigger SUV after my daughter was born last year and it takes up too much storage space. Hate it hate it hate it. I want something new that's easier to get in and out of the car
r/UninfluencedReviews • View on Reddit →I have always travelled with a vista an a Cruz. They aren't too bad to travel with and you can just put it in a travel bag and gate check it. With that said, I recently got the Skip3 because I am flying long haul solo with 4 kids and I love it. It's also not ridiculously expensive and has a 20% off right now. Tips for travel - plenty of food for baby and a few toys they like, a portable changing mat and 2 change of clothes. It's not an easy flight going there but it's manageable. Good luck!
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • View on Reddit →I have used it as my primary stroller since my son was born and love it. It has been super helpful for me and I don't regret it for a second. I live in a city and don't own a car so it is very conducive to my lifestyle. It's much easier to navigate around places like city grocery stores with tiny aisles and the bus, and I was able to use it with ride shares as well (although I know use Uber car seat option now). I don't think it is that heavy but I don't know what to compare it to. Yes it's a bit of a physical feat lifting it into some vehicles but I usually collapse it right by the car. Also, I AM five feet tall so the height is a plus for me. I have an UppaBaby Vista that was handed down to me. I have been using it more for long walks and excursions as my son as gotten bigger. I find it much harder to handle and it feels huge. So I am all in on the Dooma but it's largely a lifestyle fit. Edit; and I traveled with it when he was 8 months old. Amazing in the airport and ideal because I was also renting a car at the location. But probably there are cheaper options if that's the main draw unless you travel constantly.
r/NewParents • View on Reddit →Test drives. I was set on an uppababy vista due to research then I tried the Cybex gazelle in a store and it was all over from there. Comparing the two made it no comparison.
r/moderatelygranolamoms • View on Reddit →That unfortunately wouldn't work in snowy weather. Those wheels, will get stuck in snow and slush and impossible to push through.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • View on Reddit →I had an infant car seat then switched to rotating convertible at 4m and wish I went with convertible from the start. We never used the infant car seat as a method of transportation if you want to call it that, it always stayed in the car and we just took baby out into stroller or carried her home or baby wore. Our main stroller is the UB vista and our infant car seat was the Chicco key fit and our convertible was evenflo 360.
r/NewParents • View on Reddit →Dillard's had the Uppababy vista a couple months ago! It was in the back past all the Nunas. Fwiw I wasn't planning on getting one but once I tested it, it was the only one I wanted lol
r/Louisville • View on Reddit →Depends on the stroller system you have. We have an Uppababy Vista, and we used the Mesa car seat. It's so easy to install baseless, so we used it in several cabs and on 2 flights. It snaps into the stroller base, so you just use that as the stroller seat when you leave the cab. That said, if you don't want to deal with the car seat on the ride home from the hospital, Kid Car is awesome. They do background checks on their drivers and install their car seats based upon your needs. It only cost like $20 more than an Uber for us, and the driver was probably the kindest, safest driver I've ever had in New York. One caveat: you do have to reserve 2 hours in advance, but that's easy enough because you know when you're being discharged. For us, it was worth taking the stress off our plate for that ride.

r/beyondthebump • View on Reddit →I second the Uppababy Cruz or Vista. I have the Vista and it was expensive, but WORTH IT.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • View on Reddit →Never had to fold the stroller except when the subway shuts down and turns into like coach buses but I avoid those since there are also no car seats. I have a giant heavy uppababy vista that I put two kids in and load up the basket. Our old nanny used the same stroller. Only issues have been broken elevators and sometimes having to go very roundabout to get to the right platform. (I had to leave DTX and go to a different part of the station to transfer from orange to red when an elevator was broke but I explained to the T worker at the fare gate so they tapped me through without making me pay extra).
r/boston • View on Reddit →1000% agreed. I'm a mall walker and I'll be using it as my grocery cart too. I love it
r/UninfluencedReviews • View on Reddit →I have 3 if you count a wagon! I have the vista v2, Thule urban glide and evenflo explore pivot wagon. Use the vista the most because it's left in my car. Wagon is used a lot though. Thule not as much, but I do like it as a jogging stroller.
r/BabyBumpsCanada • View on Reddit →Understand your life style. Do you go on a lot of walks? Hikes? Run? Walk to the park or drive? Walk to the grocery store or drive? We have a Vista and it's huge and bulky and heavy and so inconvenient to bring places. But we also rarely go places. It's perfect for walking to the park or walking to the grocery store with the huge basket. It's also perfect for the horrible bumpy sidewalks in our neighborhood. So just be honest with yourself about how you'll use it.
r/NewParents • View on Reddit →I have both the Vista and the Cruz. Both are really good. Really depends on if you think you want more kids at some point.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • View on Reddit →100% recommend. We have the Vista and the Cruz and love both. Have taken them overseas - handled rough cobblestones roads, grass and going off road totally fine.
r/BabyBumpsandBeyondAu • View on Reddit →I'd pick an UPPAbaby Vista V2 if trunk space and lifting the stroller into the car aren't dealbreakers.
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →The Uppababy Vista is great (smooth ride, great for in/out with the car seat early on, lots of storage space below, the snack tray) except it is HUGE, like takes up the entire trunk of your crossover SUV huge, and their parent organizer is terrible (velcro doesn't stay put and eventually damages the stitching on the leather grips). I keep it setup in the garage exclusively for walks around the neighborhood now. You can also almost use it as a jogger. I switched to the Uppababy Minu travel stroller in the car (bought for traveling along with the travel bag). The steering is not great but it's nice and compact and the sun shade is very large. I'll have to go back to the Vista when baby #2 arrives which will most likely mean also upgrading my car so we can all fit!! Plan all along was to give the Minu to my husband after baby #2 arrives so he can have his own stroller for the infant so that's why the double Ubbababy investment. Go to Nordstrom and look at all of them in person. Tell them what your priorities are (compact, full size, travel, multiples, etc.) and they will show you your best options and answer all of your questions. Also measure your trunk! 😅
r/BabyBumps • View on Reddit →This is exactly what happened to me. I use it to go for neighborhood walks and that is it. My older kid is too tall for the double features so I ended up having to buy a different double stroller for travel. Not worth it in my opinion.
r/UninfluencedReviews • View on Reddit →We have an uppa baby vista and a Doona. We LOVED our Doona and used it until 11/12 months (have a 99th percentile baby). we got a bugaboo butterfly for travel/quick trips.
r/NewParents • View on Reddit →For the comment on car seat and stroller combos I actually didn't use mine as a combo but could have gotten an attachment (I returned it when we didn't use it). I had: \-Chicco Keyfit 30 (love and would recommend; it's compatible with an adapter to most strollers that have that ability) \-Chicco car seat caddy (bought used, popped the car seat in when going to appointment or quick trips in somewhere for the first couple months, was super light so great for c section or complication recover and didn't take much space until we sold it again) \-Uppababy Vista (I love but has some other options now + big cons; cons are heavy, expensive, need the extra adapter; plusses were bassinet option, addapter option, seat that reverses, and grear wheels; I'd maybe buy again and have no regrets, but their are lighter options at similar or lower price points now)
r/beyondthebump • View on Reddit →Absolutely worth it for our lifestyle - people forget this isn't a travel stroller lol
r/UninfluencedReviews • View on Reddit →Strollers you get what you pay for (uppababy). Personally I don't think the mesa is worth it though. It seems uncomfortable and if you have a long baby (both of mine were 99% height), they are grown out of it by 6 months old. The stroller is a real gem. Got it because I can afford it, definitely the item to splurge on if you can! (Even second hand, they seem to keep their value)
