UPPAbaby - Cruz V3

I have 3. Uppababy Cruz is my everyday stroller, a BOB from fb marketplace is my winter/snow stroller, Mountain Buggy Nano is my travel stroller (has gone all over Canada, US, China, and Portugal). Love all three.

Personally i don't think there is a stroller that will fit both 1 and 2. Usually strollers that are good in snow will be jogging strollers or at least strollers with larger wheels. Even uppababy vista will get stuck in the snow and slush. Personally I have an everyday stroller that's easy to fold (in my case I have a Cruz) and a secondary stroller for winter (i bought a BOB on marketplace for $100).

Also a Toronto mom and I'm 5'3. I have an Uppababy Cruz, and it's perfect. It's narrow and fits through all the doors, easy to take on the TTC (subways and streetcars), it has a huge under seat basket for grocery shopping. It's not an one-hand fold but it folds easily and is compact enough to not take up the entire trunk if you had to drive somewhere or even for Uber rides. However, it is not good enough for winter when there's lots of snow and slush on the sidewalk so for that I had a second stroller that's a jogging stroller that I got on fb marketplace. The Cruz is a perfect urban everyday stroller outside of those couple months in winter.

Uppababy Cruz was what I had when I thought I only wanted one child. It's light compared to others, it folds up fairly compact and didn't take up all the trunk space in the car. It's narrow and fits through all the doors and is very easy to take on public transit. It has a huge under seat basket that's easy to reach into for shopping. The seat has a nice and big canopy with an inside UV extension that you can pull down or fold in, when it's pulled down it pretty much covers the entire seat and baby is perfectly shaded. I had an infant insert and my daughter had used it from about a week old. Now 9 years later after my first I'm pregnant with my second and plan to use the same Cruz I had with my first. It still works perfectly, we might get new replacement wheels but everything else has held up extremely well. It's a great stroller.

We have the Mountain Buggy Nano which does "fit" the Cosco Scenera. For whatever reason, our 3yo has decided it's her preferred stroller over our Uppababy so we've used it A LOT in the past few months. As an everyday stroller, it's just ok. I miss the Uppababy's much smoother ride. The big plus is that our kid really likes it. It's a little small. I'm 5'8" and it's a hair too short for me. Both my husband and I have accidentally engaged the brake by taking a big step. The folding/unfolding mechanism is not intuitive, and requires two hands and emptying out nearly all the storage, so it's best used like a regular stroller that you happened to bring on a plane or in a car, it's not something that makes trains and buses that much easier other than being lightweight.

Similar situation, got a Cruz and loved it. Fit in the trunk, super sturdy for walks. Easily adds on accessories for more kiddos of when toddler aged. Highly recommend. Also, great customer service. 4 years later, still in use and working great.

I'll never regret getting my Uppababy, it was expensive but it's a beast I don't drive so it's been used practically daily for 3 years and it's still perfect, not so much as a wobbly wheel and the size of the basket in the bottom is amazing, I can fit a few days worth of groceries in it, and the bassinet is approved for safe sleep so we were able to use that in the living room for naps till he outgrew it. I could go on, I sound like an ad but seriously it's the best thing we bought for our kid

We arent sure about #2 and it will probably be a couple years if it happens, so went with the Cruz with bassinet and Aria carseat. We have a car so wont be using Uber much. Plan to get the yoyo for subway travel. Uppababy has a service center relatively close by in Brooklyn which is super helpful if anything goes wrong. There were also some recalls on Nuna items recently, so between those factors and recs from friends, we went with the Uppababy system. Very happy so far. Ultimately your stroller choice is very lifestyle dependent.

I have both the Vista and the Cruz. Both are really good. Really depends on if you think you want more kids at some point.

I have always travelled with a vista an a Cruz. They aren't too bad to travel with and you can just put it in a travel bag and gate check it. With that said, I recently got the Skip3 because I am flying long haul solo with 4 kids and I love it. It's also not ridiculously expensive and has a 20% off right now. Tips for travel - plenty of food for baby and a few toys they like, a portable changing mat and 2 change of clothes. It's not an easy flight going there but it's manageable. Good luck!

100% recommend. We have the Vista and the Cruz and love both. Have taken them overseas - handled rough cobblestones roads, grass and going off road totally fine.

With my first we got the uppababy Cruz and I love this stroller. Many of my friends got the vista, but find it is harder to manoeuvre to run errands (and heavier to lift in and out of the vehicle and takes more space). I got the chicco keyfit 30 for the seat, and my 99%ile height baby had basically outgrown it by 6 months anyway.

I'm on east coast and I didn't use my stroller outside until they were 12+ weeks... which was spring! It's not a hearty winter stroller though

Agree with all this! I just used my Cruz to navigate some tight doorways at a recent doctor appt (older building) and anything bigger would have been a real challenge!

Strollers you get what you pay for (uppababy). Personally I don't think the mesa is worth it though. It seems uncomfortable and if you have a long baby (both of mine were 99% height), they are grown out of it by 6 months old. The stroller is a real gem. Got it because I can afford it, definitely the item to splurge on if you can! (Even second hand, they seem to keep their value)

Second hand is the way to go. Also, you're going to use the travel stroller 99% of the time if you live in a city. Full sized strollers are just too hard to navigate. I bought a UB Cruz and a Minu and the Minu is always our go-to.

I was fortunate to borrow a bassinet from a friend, but honestly, I wouldn't recommend investing in one since babies outgrow them so quickly. We ended up buying a compact crib from Walmart because I wasn't comfortable with my baby sleeping in his nursery right away. If you can, I'd suggest going for a convertible crib that transitions from a mini crib to a full-size toddler bed-it's a much longer-lasting option. For the stroller and car seat, I chose the UPPAbaby Cruz with the Mesa car seat, knowing I wouldn't be having a second child until my baby is around 2-3 years old. I absolutely love this combo-it's so easy to click the car seat onto the stroller, and the rumble seat's shade cover and recline make it super comfortable for my baby. The new Cruz V3 is even better now, as it's suitable for newborns right from the start. (Lots of Cruz V2 stroller on fb market if you don't want to buy it brand new) But if I were to have kids back to back, I was looking into the Bugaboo Donkey since the seat is side by side to see both kids. About to have 3. Have a Cruz for main home stroller - for pavements, malls, general walking about. Have a baby jogger elite - tough 3 wheeler for rough terrain/beach walks when we go on holiday. Travel stroller - for overhead /carry-on luggage. Not sure on this one so love opinions! Minu is too large. Looking at joolz aer, bugaboo butterfly, leclerc magic fold -- suggestions welcome! Have dismissed the yoyo (horrible fold, too expensive for what it is), and mountain buggy nano which is just too cheaply built

We have the uppababy travel system and love it. The car seats are super light and easy to click into the bases and stroller. The bassinets are amazing for walks and visiting people. And overall the system is sleek enough to fit through narrow doors and store aisles while also super smooth even in uneven sidewalks

I have a 22 month old and just found out I'm pregnant with #2. I have the uppababy Cruz and bugaboo butterfly which are single strollers and don't regret those purchases. My toddler doesn't like sitting in strollers anymore but I'll probably get the riding board for the strollers I have in case she doesn't want to walk.

We have 2 kids 19 months apart. Currently we have 2 strollers and 2 wagons. I had 2 previous strollers previously as well. First stroller - Uppababy Cruz. LOVED this stroller. No notes. I miss it every day. Wish I hadn't sold it. Only did because our older one was too small to use the running board and still needed a place to sit. Second stroller, used Uppababy vista. It was *fine* for early 2 U 2 ages. Convenient and all that, but so heavy. Got rid of it a couple of months ago when our youngest was 10.5 months old. It was getting too heavy with both kids and strained my c section incision of curbs. Third and current stroller - B.O.B. Double jogging stroller. It's fantastic. Great shocks, decent storage, handles all types of surfaces. Very heavy and a bit awkward in crowded spaces. Fourth and current stroller - 13 year old mamas & papas stroller that was my sisters for her kids. Works great as a single stroller when I just need one kid in a stroller. Wagon 1 - Costco MAC wagon. Works for camping and other places you want to haul kids and fold it up. Wagon 2 - larktale wagon- it's great for places like the zoo. Lots of storage, lots of features and accessories included.

I mean there isn't any data published. At best you will get anecdotal stories which aren't particularly insightful. Presumably, 99.9% of people who bring strollers have no issues. I have bought higher end strollers (Uppababy, Bugaboo) in a dozen times and had no issues. I use an AirTag, mostly because once or twice cast members have moved them (or my spouse parked it, but I retrieved it) and it's helpful. Personally, I think the concerns about stroller theft are overblown. It's a highly secure and monitored area, that costs hundreds of dollars to enter. I think items in strollers is more common, but even that I think is rampant. Anecdotally I've had no issues and leave both my stroller and items in it unattended for long durations. But, again, without data we are all just speculating.

I second the Uppababy Cruz or Vista. I have the Vista and it was expensive, but WORTH IT.

Some stores to check out and explore options are: West coast kids (got my uppa baby here and the staff was wonderful and patient), Snuggle bugz or babies r us. I highly recommend going in and doing a test run of some of the ones you see online. I initially wanted a nuna and changed my mind after a store visit.

We started with the uppababy Cruz and clicked in the nuna pipa car seat with the adapter. It's very smooth and just feels nice to push. As our baby got older, we added a bob jogging stroller because the roads in our neighborhood aren't smooth. We added the bugaboo butterfly recently since she likes to run around now and doesn't care much for the stroller anymore. The one handed fold and compactness is really nice. We also have a wonderfold wagon but only plan to use it for long outings to the zoo.

I have the Cruz v3 for my 5 mo old and it's amazing on gravel and curbs, but incredibly heavy. I am looking for a travel stroller myself since this isn't it. I tried the minu 3 and returned it because it seemed way too flimsy for the cost. I can't imagine buying another high priced stroller and considering the Aer+ due to one handed fold.

I have a Cruz and I absolutely love it. It's not the lightest pram, but tbf I only have a Stokke Yoyo3 to compare it to and everything is going to seem heavy next to that one! But I love how versatile it is with multiple seat positions and the huge basket.

This all makes sense. I would recommend finding a store with the Minu and Cruz so that you can compare sizes-you might decide you only need one (or, alternatively, that you definitely want both). We did an Uppababy travel system (Vista V2, Mesa car seat, bassinet) and found it super easy to use, even when flying. We gatechecked our Vista base and carried the car seat onto the plane, so you can do that with the Cruz or Minu.

They're available on marketplace. Just sold mine. Loved it but we just don't need such a big one anymore.

I think it does. I live in an area where many streets don't have footpaths and I never have an issue with the Cruz over grass.

Don't fall for the Uppababy hype. While it is a well built stroller,. it is overkill and after using other lightweight strollers feels way too heavy. They are also too big to travel with imo, even in cars unless you have a big SUV or Van. Great if all you are doing is walking flat ground to the park. One exception is possibly for the first couple months when your baby can't hold their head up yet, then it is nice to have a stroller with a bassinet or car-seat compatible options. Maybe see if you can borrow one for those couple months and then switch to something lighter after. Or just use a carrier for those months. (Although the Joolz does have a bassinet option also) If I was starting over I'd probably just go with one of the Joolz light weight stroller that also is easy to travel with. I've heard good things about the yoyo also. We took the Joolz Aer to Europe, fit in the overhead compartment and handled the cobble stone streets great.

So I had this same dilemma recently and was lucky to go into a store in Toronto where the owner gave us her honest thoughts an experience - we ended up with the Cruz V3 and the Aria car seat (was between the liing and the Aria and the aria was on sale at the time and we have to carry the seat down a few flights of stairs so we went with that). Her experience/thoughts: - unless you're planning on having two very small children the 2 kid configuration often doesn't get used as much. - she's had a lot of parents come in for a side by side stroller for 2 kids because the top to bottom is a bit awkward for the bottom kid even if they have the vista, it also gets quite heavy since the uppa baby is a heavier stroller - a lot of people with toddlers end up wearing one kid/getting the ride along or even getting a wagon - if you want the slightly bigger stroller with slightly better features go for it, but the Cruz is a great option if you're on the fence. Obviously this differs from person to person and we decided that if we saw a need for the double stroller, we'd revaluate later one, and if we did it would probably be something more along the travel end of the spectrum to have something a little more easy to maneuver.

I started out with the Stokke Yoyo3 as my only pram (with the newborn pack) bc we live in a first floor with no lift apartment with not much space and I get public transport a lot. So it did make sense for us on paper but I ended up getting a secondhand Uppababy Cruz about 4 months in. The Yoyo is great and is awesome for getting around on public transport but I kind of wish I'd had the Cruz from the jump. I have to be so much more judicious with what I bring with the Yoyo bc there is very little storage (which makes sense obviously, it's a travel pram!) and if I'm taking a full size nappy bag I have to carry it, whereas with the Cruz I can throw everything in the basket and take bigger items like a picnic blanket. I just didn't factor in how much stuff I needed to lug around and honestly a big part of the reason I got another pram was just so I could put a pack of nappies in the basket which you can't really do with the Yoyo. I also like being able to talk and engage with my baby on walks when she's facing me, which isn't possible with the Yoyo for 6m+ as it only faces out. And the newborn pack was great at first bc she could lie flat and nap, but from about 4m she wanted to look out and look around so I'd constantly have to take her out. Plus it's just not the best for surfaces like grass, pebbles etc. All that said I genuinely do think the Yoyo is great lol, but it has worked much better as a second pram for me. I will say I rarely ever fold down the Cruz, the Yoyo now lives in our boot. If I were having to constantly fold it down into a car boot I might feel differently!

I wanted an Uppababy and ended up having to just buy it online because I couldn't find it anywhere locally. I know Once Upon a Child in Monroeville and North Hills has used strollers, but it's very limited selection. But if you stalk their Instagram they usually post new things daily, so you can see if a side-by-side comes in.

I started with a Stokke Yoyo then got a Cruz and it was the best decision I've made post baby lol. It handles well on footpaths and in shopping centres, decently on grass, I love the big basket (it fits SO much), I like the versatility of having the seat recline or sit up and parent/outward facing options, and it's sturdy but not so big I feel awkward taking it on public transport.

Also went with the Cruz and love it! It's light and fits great in my trunk and it's super easy to figure out. I can use it in the sand and navigate it over rough terrain or up and down and curb. Would definitely recommend it!

I got my high end strollers second hand! With the first we got a Bumbleride Indie for trails and beaches for $90!- and it's still amazing 4 years later, we even replaced tires on it. Then I got a used uppababy Cruz for $150 and it's been amazing as well. FWIW I bought a small travel stroller new (YoYo Zen2) that folds down to carry on airplanes and while we do use it for that, the storage is awful (doesn't fit anything) and the price was outrageous for how little we actually like it. 😆 Established brands in strollers are worth it imo.
