I also used the Evenflo Gold Dual Shyft. It has a stroller base that is detachable from the car seat. It was nice because you don't have to transfer baby out of the car seat and you *always* have your stroller. *BUT* you need to be able to lift in and out the car seat+ stroller base (if you are using the stroller) plus weight of baby. My baby was 6lbs 14oz at birth and is now 23lbs at 11 months. Honestly, I think the BEST thing is to just have a separate stroller (with bassinet mode) in addition to the Dual Shyft car seat/stroller. In terms of quality strollers, Nuna is gold standard, and Silver Cross would be ✨ Diamond standard. What kind of budget are you working with?

We have a mockingbird and evenflo shyft dualride - basically uppababy vista and doona dupes. We are absolutely thrilled with our choices. The dualride has an advantage over doona, in that you can choose to leave the wheels in the car, attached to the base, and detach just the carrier. I don't believe this is possible with the doona, yet the doona is more expensive.

Came here to say the same thing! It's super convenient when dropping my older kids off at school. Much taller than the doona (and better looking imo).

If I had to start over, I would choose the even Flo dual shift, and a mocking bird that can convert to a double. I was one and done when we had my daughter, so I got the Doona and I love it but the even Flo seems easier as you can take the wheels off and click it in to a stroller!!!

We got the Evenflo Dualride Shyft new (thanks to an Amazon sale earlier this year, we got it for $300), which is a combo car seat/stroller and a Doona dupe. My cousin with 2 kids raved about it, so I went with that option figuring it would be our travel system for about a year. It was great for the newborn days when she was very light and all we had to do was pop her in the car seat, and then pop the wheels out for when we needed the stroller option. That was pretty much our primary stroller for the first 3 months since we are in the suburbs and have a car for most outings and trips. For just short walks, we just did baby wearing (Ergobaby Omni). Also for the first month or so I was so exhausted from C section delivery and recovery, sleep deprivation from staying up all night with the baby, and breastfeeding that I didn't even want to leave the house, so a nicer stroller wasn't needed. It might have been nice to have the bassinet feature, but I felt like the baby spent so much time flat on her back while sleeping up to 18 hours a day that I don't think I would have used it much anyway. The Evenflo dualride works great as a travel system but not as an everyday stroller. At the 3 month mark, I started wanting to go on some longer walks, so I got a Mockingbird single to double stroller with an infant insert on Facebook marketplace for $100, which I use for neighborhood walks and to the grocery store. I then got a travel stroller for when she outgrows the Evenflo next year (baby is currently 4 months and she will no longer be able to fit in the Evenflo when she is 35 pounds). I ordered the Ingenuity 3D QuickClose stroller on Amazon for about $100 (it was on sale and I used a completion discount). I haven't used it on a trip yet but so far pleased with how easily it folds. I did do a bit of research into a travel stroller and I decided I would just go for a cheaper option in case it breaks during travel/gate check. I probably should have tried to get an Uppababy Minu on marketplace, but the nice ones were hard to come by or sold very quickly. We weren't exactly on a strict budget, but I couldn't stomach the idea of spending too much money on strollers since I got the Evenflo new and also got a new Graco convertible car seat for when the baby gets older. I am glad we started with the Evenflo, which worked great for the newborn days, and then had time to figure out what stroller features I really wanted. I would also highly recommend Facebook marketplace for strollers; so many are in good shape and if you end up not liking a stroller at least it's not too much of a sunk cost. I got a used Graco stroller for $50 that I just tried out and used for about a week before reselling on Marketplace for $30, and then found the Mockingbird. We have a yard and a hose, so I just give the secondhand strollers a good scrub and then let it dry in the sun, and machine wash any removable parts.

I got the Evenflo dual ride shyft (Doona dupe) for about $300 on Amazon when it was heavily discounted (pre tariff), and found it good value for the money. When visiting family in the suburbs in Queens, we found it handy especially in the newborn days to just put the baby in the car seat and just have the stroller wheels unfold with a single push. I have not yet had a travel system so I can't speak to how much more convenient it is compared to attaching an infant seat to a traditional stroller. In the newborn days I barely wanted to leave the house, so the Evenflo stroller worked for trips and short walks. I am now looking into getting a traditional stroller because the baby is over 4 months and I want to go on longer walks and runs.

I have the Evenflo Shyft. The downside to it is you must be diligent about resetting. I make sure I hear both clicks and check every. single. time. It is heavy, and post partum it was hard to lift. Now, I carry a 20lb baby all day, I can throw the carseat into my high suv with ease. The upside is it is fabulous to run and errand and not have to unstrap and move a cranky 8 month old into a stroller or carry my determined escape who constantly wants down. I would purchase it again. My husband has the pippa nuna light something. I do like it alot. It is well made and very nice. If I were going to carry my infant instead of strolling in the dualride, the light weight is worth the extra $$ for sure. I also have a $90 11lb travel stroller- amazing, fits under the seat or pink tags with no worries of breaking. I also have a delta children's jogging stroller. I thought it was so ridiculous when my husband registered for it, but I love it. It is so comfortable. Baby and I walk trails, parks, gravel roads, the yard and because of the giant rubber wheels and shocks he is always comfortable and we never get stuck. I am in the process of buying the next step up in carseat, but we have a long way before needed. When we travel we a safety 1st all stages we take with us.

I'm using an Evenflo Dual Ride Shyft for carseat/stroller. The convenience is amazing! It's so nice not having to lug around a separate stroller. When people see me convert it from a carseat to stroller with the push of a button they think it's the coolest thing. My baby is 5.5 months and we're still using it. The only big con is it's heavy if you're using it in carrier mode with the wheels on. I have an Evenflo Revolve 360 on stand by when he outgrows the Dualride.

I think I've read everything there is to read on the internet about strollers. I've finally made peace with the idea of getting three different strollers to fit our various needs. We bought the Evenflo Shyft Dualride (like the Doona better higher safety ratings) to work for when she's an infant and we're just running out for some quick errands. We bought the Silver Cross Wave 3 to live in our garage. We have two dogs that go for two walks a day and we plan to continue that so we want a good stroller for walks that works for all ages. We're hoping to have two fairly close in age so we wanted a single to double stroller. Our third stroller will probably be the Minu v3. It's a travel stroller that can be used at birth. This one will live in the car and be used for longer errands when I maybe wouldn't want her in a carseat the whole time. We're also hoping to go on a vacation at the end of parental leave so we wanted a travel stroller. In your case, since you want just one jack of all trades single stroller I would recommend that Uppababy Cruz. It's like the Vista, which all of my friends have and love, but not as bulky and is a single stroller. I would also get the bassinet so it can be used from birth and it's sleep safe certified so you can use it on it's own. Great to take with you if you go visit someone. I watched a comparison video of the Nuna bassinet versus the Uppababy vista v3 bassinet and the Uppababy one looked so much better to me. It was also lighter. If you have a store by you I would suggest trying it out in person. The maneuverability of the Uppababy Vista over the Nuna Demi Next was also better. I don't think I tried the Cruz since I was looking for a double. Alternatively the reviews on the Minue v3 look good so even though it's a travel stroller it might be a good fit even for every day use. Another option may be the stokke yoyo 3. My friend in NYC said that's what everyone there has as their every day stroller and it was a close toss up for between that and the Minu v3. I'm likely choosing the Minu v3 of the yoyo because you have to buy a lot of accessories for the yoyo3 to make it work right off the bat. I would be more inclined to do that if it was going to be my only stroller. I read some advice from someone else this morning regarding strollers and they said to just decide and then don't look any more and don't second guess yourself. So once you decide I would suggest that as well. I've found the stroller decision to be the most overwhelming personally.

If you will be traveling frequently in cabs or other people's cars, the Shyft is what you want. I live in NYC and I can't tell you how many times I drooled over Doonas and Shyfts while out and about. They are just so convenient. If you won't be in that position, get the Gazelle. It is a dream of a stroller. It's a workhorse but it feels weightless to handle, and it has some of the most versatile configuration options out there. And it has so many pretty colorways - not a reason to buy it, but a really nice bonus!

We bought the stroller and car seat combo from maxi cosi. No complaints! We also got the Evenflo dual ride due to some travel, and I would have just bought that if you don't need a stroller without a bassinet. Carrying around a car seat can be taxing, and the dual ride has base that converts in to a stroller, which is pretty handy!

You're totally right. I wouldn't recommend it for neighborhood walks/on sidewalks but it's amazing for the mall/quick trips in stores. I have always used carriers for long walks. I am shocked nobody has suggested OP look at the Evenflo shyft dualride. It is what we have and when compared to my friends Doona I think it is a way better alternative. The handle extends way higher and most importantly the base separates from the wheels which makes it lighter than the doona. We use it every day and love it. Can't recommend it enough.

We had the evenflo shyft dual ride car seat stroller. It was super handy for one baby. I would say if you are planning on having more than one close in age, consider a travel system so the stroller could become a double. We won't be using the shyft for baby #2, instead opting for something that can attach to our stroller so we can cart our toddler around too.

I think it is worth it 100% but we travel a lot. It is perfect to gate check because you can use it with out the base and you can use it in a taxi/uber then turn it into a stroller. The main difference between this and Doona is the wheels can disconnect which is nice when you just want to bring them in and out of the house (the wheels make is pretty heavy) also the handle bar is higher than the doona which would be better if you are taller.

I own too many strollers. I have the Evenflo Dualride Shyft, bugaboo butterfly, Uppababy Cruz, and Austlen Entourage. I pretty much only like using the Cruz. The Dualride was super convenient when she was lighter and smaller. We could take just the bucket inside and leave the wheels in the car. But it couldn't really handle anything but smooth pavement or inside flooring. Even a brand new sidewalk crack or a pebble sent it rocking. The butterfly is what I'd take if we flew, but it also struggles on sidewalk cracks that aren't perfect or a small divot. It also tips back if you try to hang any diaper bag on the handles and the basket is small. It also reclines more than we like now that she's able to sit up. It sits in our car for if we are out and about and need a stroller. We also have a sling carrier, and if we were going over any real terrain, I'd reach for the carrier hands down. The Entourage was the stroller I got first thinking I'd want one that could convert to a double if I had another kid. That's the only double stroller I'd want because it folds up with two seats, you don't have to remove a seat like most others. But it is huge and weighs a ton. I like it plenty as long as I keep it open and ready to go, except that it *also* reclines too much. She wants to sit up and see the world. I am keeping it in case we do end up having another kid So we use the Cruz the most. It sits super upright. It has decent suspension (we got a used 2019 V1). I don't like the folding mechanism but we leave it open and ready for our morning walk.

It also has the ability to detach the wheels from the car seat which is helpful for carrying the baby to and from the car. It's also cheaper than the Doona and you can regularly find it on sale. We did a jogging stroller for the first (it was 2020 so we walked outside a lot since we couldn't go anywhere). It was second hand and $50. The second we just baby wore. We eventually invested in a wagon so that baby could nap during excursions or baseball games, and at 6 months she could ride around in the second seat with brother. It allows us to go on lots of day trips and adventures - we can use the canopy to give them quiet time and keep hanging out, and has lots of storage. It was about $450. For our third, we got the evenflo shyft which is a little cheaper than Doona. It's needed since I have two other kids now and need to be able to walk them into daycare or around the library etc more often. It's so convenient, I wish I'd done it with the second baby to get more bang for my buck. On adventures (only 2 weeks postpartum so this is all theory) I'll likely still baby wear and push the bigs in the wagon. And I only plan to use the shyft for a year at which point all three will use the wagon.

I don't have the doona but I have the evenflo shyft. The evenflo is a bit taller, so it worked better for me and my husband. That being said, it can be very heavy. The wheels/base add a lot of extra weight and you feel it more as your baby grows. That being said, I can manage it pretty well. My daughter is 7.5 months old and weighs about 20 pounds now and I can still get the stroller in and out of the car without much difficulty. For what it is, I like the stroller. It's been a good help for travel (I did a cross country flight with it when my daughter was 5 months old and it was great for getting her around the airport). I also like using it for quick errands and sometimes it comes in handy for situations where ramps aren't available. These things are really pricey if you ask me though, and I can definitely see the weight as a potential problem for other users.

5 months postpartum here. If I had to do it again, I'd 100% buy the evenflow dualride shyft again in a heartbeat. If I couldn't do that, then I wouldn't have a bucket seat, we'd just be in a convertible from birth and I'd buy an uppababy vista with the bassinet, because our baby actually really liked the bassinet for sleep at night. I didn't buy the vista, but we used it at a mom postpartum center in Ferndale MI called Fourth Tri Sanctuary, and she actually slept in the bassinet there, so we got one secondhand and it saved us. She hated the Halo bassinet.

I got the mockingbird with my first with the adapter for his car seat. I loved it as a walk-around-the-neighborhood stroller (still do! *with the actual stroller seat, not car seat) but hated it for popping into a store because even with the ease of popping the car seat onto it, it felt too big. I envied the smaller systems that uppababy, for example, offered. Ended up getting a smaller stroller thing that I could plop the car seat onto. Then also got a travel stroller when he got older. For my second we got the evenflo dualshyft which is like a doona. We don't take him for long walks in it (not really meant for bumpy sidewalks anyway) so I'm not worried about him being in his seat too long, but it's a lifesaver for running in and out of a store or doing daycare pickup for my toddler. Honestly maybe I'm just extra haha but I feel like you may end up with a couple of options regardless of what you choose but for now id choose what you think will work best for you right now. It's definitely overwhelming!

I would recommend buying the best stroller you can afford and getting a car seat you like. You will use your stroller for years, but bucket seats are very temporary. Do not buy a stroller based on a car seat. Besides, most stroller brands have adapters for car seats. Though if you want something convenient for the beginning and wouldn't mind a 2 in 1, I have LOVED my Evenflo shyft dualride !! It's a bucket seat that is also a stroller. My daughter is 13mos and still has plenty of room to grow, though we are considering replacing it with a Graco 4ever soon. I'm not excited to give up the convenience. It's such a brilliant product A+

Hey, not sure if this helps but I was in the same boat as you. Wanted a stroller but we don't live in a walkable area so I knew we would just use it for car trips and shopping. Our baby is less than a month old. We decided to do a car seat/stroller combo (got the evenflo shyft) for now and then probably get a cheap lightweight stroller down the road. Most of the moms I asked in our area said even if they had a more substantial stroller, they grabbed their cheap Walmart umbrella strollers most for their babies after 6 months.

We went with the evenflo that converts to a stroller straight out of the car. I already have a jogging stroller and a joovy for when this baby is older though. I am just very very much not wanting to carry another infant car seat anywhere and this prevents that.

For a car seat one that we bought Is the evenflow dual shyft ride. It's a stroller and a car seat in one and it makes it easier when going places because I don't have to waist space in my car with a stroller during their first year of life. I drive a Subaru crosstreck so there is space but strollers take up a lot of space. But I personally like to just put my baby in a wrap carrier so she's close to me and people are way less likely to touch her.

I got the evenflo.. they have a dual ride system as well since your older baby probably still rides in the stroller! They have a bassinet attachment that turns into the seat and you can also connect the car seat for quick trips just like the doona but optional and much more affordable!

Only one baby and I have 2, but could use a third if we had space. We live in a very walkable neighborhood and I jog a lot so we have a bob jogging stroller for home. Then we have a travel stroller (even flo shyft - doona knock off) which is also what we use for the car seat/errands. It's working well but I'd like a third that is for walks to the store since the jogging stroller barely has storage.

I have an uppababy vista v2, it came with a bassinet & stroller. I also have the car seat that can also lock into the stroller base! It was pricey but I honestly love it. The bottom has lots of space & it moves smoothly. My husband has the evenflo dualshyft - we use this one for quick trips and travel. It's a car seat with (detachable) wheels that fold out from the bottom. These have worked pretty great for us!
