Doona - Doona i

I have the Doona and I love it. So convenient to just take the car seat out of the car, press a button and it's a stroller. No fuss no muss. I also have a Joie Ginger stroller for when I take my baby for walks in the park. It's worked well for us. I was gifted a a Cybex Libelle travel stroller but haven't used it yet. Seems cool though.

So a travel system is what you might like, that's is what combines carrier and stroller and sometimes bassinet (most have that as something else you can buy though). Being in the city and no car I'd focus on smaller the better. The Doona is going to be your most compact option. Any other stroller/carrier combo is going to end up fairly big and bulky. And don't get me wrong I loved our Chicco Bravo and really love our mockingbird but in an urban environment could see them being cumbersome.

I HATE the doona. That thing is so stinking heavy and you can't even have the wheels down at all times. They also outgrow it way too fast to justify the price. I also dislike some of the Nuna seats too which is a hot take for sure. As a shorty the umbrella ones are good heights for me but they suck to use. Why do they get stuck on a singular leaf?

I am a runner and have two strollers. I have a Doona which doubles as a car seat and is awesome for short trips and when I have to take my baby in the car somewhere. My second one is a Thule urban glide, which I use for running and long walks. It is extremely smooth And I can run very fast in it. If it wasn't for the Thule, there is no way I would be able to stay fit.

You have to take a typical travel system apart and put the stroller base in the trunk. With the Doona there's no need to do that.

Okay, couple of things/thoughts. If you have a Doona, I personally wouldn't buy a travel stroller (at least not right now). I would suck it up and travel (by plane) with the Doona knowing it has no storage, and buy yourself a really nice diaper bag backpack or something to make up for it. In terms of traveling somewhere (again by plane) to go hiking, I think I would give up on the idea of flying with a jogging stroller. They're huge and expensive, and airlines are not nice to luggage, so even if they weren't huge and annoying to lug around, I personally would never trust an airline with my nice jogging stroller. That being said, I would absolutely invest in a jogging stroller for driving distance hiking and events on rugged terrain. One thing to keep in mind, while you don't NEED a bassinet attachment, like someone else said, usually you can't use jogging strollers alone until the baby is a certain age/weight, and I don't think jogging strollers have car seat attachments for the Doona, so if you want to use it early on, you'll either need to get a bassinet attachment, or a different infant carseat, which feels silly if you have the Doona. I personally would wait and see - you can probably take walks around your neighborhood with the Doona or get by babywearing until they're big enough for the jogging stroller, but if you find those options aren't working for you, then ordering the bassinet attachment is only a click away!

We have used the Doona for about 1 year. Just got the bugaboo butterfly 2. Has worked out well for us living in the city and taking Ubers, subway plus driving

We have the doona and the uppa baby vista v3...have had the doona since babe was born (he's 5 months now) and I love it so so much! So convenient to have it for errands, doctor appointments, short walks, etc. We got the uppa baby vista a month or two ago as we are thinking ahead for when we want to go vacation, take longer walks/outdoor adventures, etc. Yes, both are quite expensive but they seem well worth it in terms of quality and convenience factors!

We got Doona for our baby and will be using it also for her sibling due next year. It will be perfect for us because she will have outgrown it by then and we can use it for her sibling. I personally love Doona because it is convenient for us since we live in an apartment building with no elevator. I only need to carry Doona when taking her for a walk vs if I had an infant car seat, we would also need to carry the stroller up and down the stairs. I also like the convenience that we can take the baby in and out the car without having to carry the whole travel system. We sold the infant seat that we got with our chicco bravo travel system since it would be inconvenient for me to carry both the stroller and the car seat.

We had a Doona, was awesome for infant phase, for toddler phase we got a Joie.

Love our Doona! Super convenient. Only issue we had was when I was recovering initially from the C section; had to have someone else lift it in/out of the car for the first 6 weeks. After that it was smoooooth sailing.

We have the uppababy vista. It's a great smooth stroller. We recently switched to the doona since it's a lot more convenient and lighter.

Yes they are comically small!! My husband would have looked like he was pushing around a little doll stroller

Got a doona used from a family member, but I would absolutely repurchase for full price. It has its problems, but for us it has been stronger pros than cons. Pros and cons from someone who still uses one: Pros - Compact car seat option that doesn't take any extra trunk space. - Adequate height for short people. - Exacerbates less shoulder and neck pain than carrying a lightweight infant seat. Cons - Heavy when not using stroller feature. - Tracks mud. - A little more top heavy/easier to tip than an average stroller. - Difficult to shop with if you have a cart. The only time I regret my decision is when I'm shopping, and that'll be better soon once he can sit up. Most of the time it's a moot point because I need an extra pair of hands to take him shopping with me anyways, because he loses it in the car and at the store. I think best advice is to evaluate your own individual needs and make your decision from there.

Totally with you! It's not an exaggeration at all. I love my Doona so much. I'm so sad that when my daughter is too big, there's not a next size up. Doona could make a lot of money making a stroller once babies hit the weight, and height restrictions of it.

That might be it. Because we Uber and Lyft everywhere. So it's super convenient and lightweight enough for me to maneuver from car seat to stroller and vice versa.

Unsure what you mean BIFL. Survive multiple kids, suit a single child from newborn to 3+ years, or simply extra durable so it can withstand your stated activities? Bought a Doona secondhand and am using it for the second time so it has supported at least 3 children up until they grow out of it at like 2 years old. So it's technically a short life span, but not having to carry a separate car seat was a godsend and honestly it's in good enough condition I would be able to resell it as well if I wanted to.

Be so careful on FB marketplace. I have an alert on for a used Doona to use as a 2nd stroller and there are so many scams! How I tell it might be a scam: Person joined facebook in 2025; reverse image google search (often the exact image is used on other listings for other areas, a red flag); if you get as far as talking to them and they insist on zelle, cashapp, or venmo friends & family (you have no protection with payments on those)

I have a Doona, it's fine. Would not say it's great in the snow, and wheels get your car dirty (and you sometimes) if that's something that bothers you. If the Evenflo version was out when I had my first, I would have bought it. I'd like the option of having no wheels sometimes for easier carrying or the capability to put in a stroller.

If I had to start over, I would choose the even Flo dual shift, and a mocking bird that can convert to a double. I was one and done when we had my daughter, so I got the Doona and I love it but the even Flo seems easier as you can take the wheels off and click it in to a stroller!!!

Same! I love the Doona. My baby still fits it perfectly at 11 months. I don't find it heavy, as I'm able to lift it by myself with my daughter in it. We mostly take Uber and Lyft. So it's super convenient to go from car seat to stroller and vice versa.

Honestly surprised at how many people are upset by the height. I'm 5'7 and have zero issue. It's extremely convenient when running errands, especially with ny toddler in tow. IMO the biggest downside is that it's damn heavy, but since it doubles as a stroller, the only time I'm carrying it is into the house. All that said, we bought from a trusted secondhand source, so didn't have the hefty price tag.

One travel stroller (Baby Jogger City Tour- OLD model. We are probably the 4th family to use it. It folds very flat into a backpack and I HIGHLY recommend it), but I have only used once since Christmas. Before that, I used it once in September. I have a 2.5 year old, so after our only guy outgrew the Doona car seat stroller (also highly recommended) at just shy of 18 months, we pretty much ditched the stroller altogether unless we are going to be walking 3+ miles over the course of an outing. Otherwise, he walks and we pop him on our shoulders if he needs a break. Even then, I think we are nearing the end of that limited stroller use as well. His legs seemed bent uncomfortably last time we used it.

We only purchased one travel stroller For infant carseat we got doona, until she was able to sit up ~5.5 months, we used doona as a stroller. After that we used the travel stroller (bugaboo butterfly). A lot of our friends who had the full stroller-carseat system complained about bulky strollers and how they take up lot of trunk space. They also didn't use the bassinet much either, so we went this way and have been happy with our decision.

At one point we had like 8 lol. They all have such different use cases! A city mini travel system we got when we had our first. Sold it once our 2nd baby was out of the infant car seat. We also had a Doona and loved that. Sold both when he got too big. We had a City Mini double (someone in my parents rich neighborhood was giving it away! And then they paid $$$ to ship it to us, lol.) that we just used around the neighborhood because it was too bulky and a pain to take in the car with the second seat. (Sold this one) A evenflo pivot stroller wagon we took around. A $50 costco wagon that folded up and fit in the car really well. For a while we stopped using the pivot because this one was just easier. A double umbrella we only used for traveling or kept in the trunk, it was a pain because it was short so the adult had to hunch to push. But it was small, we took it on planes to visit my parents. (Sold this one, kids are 6 and 3 now) A GB pockit amazing fold up tiny single stroller. Perfect for travel, took it to NYC and on a cruise. A urbini reversi single stroller, we kept that one even though we used it rarely because it was the only one that could recline super flat for the kid to sleep that had okay storage underneath. After we sold the big double stroller we decided to take the kids to Disney World and I realized wagons weren't allowed. We considered taking 2 single strollers and quickly abandoned that idea and bought a Graco Sit and Stand double stroller on marketplace for $50 that we love and take with us when we go places like the Zoo and stuff now. Good storage, our older kid can stand or sit and hop on and off easily.

Fantastic product! But if you're active/sporty you'll probably need a second bigger/rugged stroller. The Doona is a brilliant piece of engineering. Seamless transitioning from driving to walking. You don't need to detach a stroller and put it in the trunk. Excellent modular base to clip into. But also easy to use with seatbelt in other cars/taxis. Amazing for global travel. The main thing about the slight extra weight is that you literally lift it out of car and release the wheels below. The lift should be for about 3 feet. Seemed pricey when I first looked at it. Now I think it was one of our best purchases. The negatives are that it has small wheels and no suspension. (This is a lightweight urban/travel solution). So if you like to walk/hike/run on loose surfaces it's not going to work. For these activities we bought a Thule Glide. It also has no storage by default. So you'll want the clip on essentials bag for diapers etc. and the clip on backpack for airplane travel.

Every day I strolled to the bus, placed the Doona on the seat next to me on the bus, then strolled to daycare. Same thing reverse. If I needed an Uber, the Doona became a car seat. It was amazing until my baby grew out of it.
