you can't beat the physics. what you want is the big size as prioirty thing to look for first. then you can look into other things but the size of purifier(filter) has biggest impact. winix is solid imo for basiaclly 99% of the use case.
r/BuyItForLife • The REAL best air purifier - I HATE DUST! ->Both of my Winix air purifiers started smelling like smoke, they are different models, cleaned weekly and filters changed regularly, I don't recommend them.
r/Costco • Need Help Choosing an Air Purifier from Costco-Totally Lost Here! ->I have 4 cats and a dog. I have two Winix c545 purifiers, a Winix 5300, and Whirlpool Whispure 510 in various rooms. They're all pretty solid.
r/BabyBumps • Are there any Good Air Purifiers for Pets on the market today? ->Definitely recommend Winix. Australian and comes out top of various tests. (If you haven't been warned- don't buy Dyson) Super sensitive to more than just particulates and has a 'pet filter' that is changed monthly that goes around the main filter and prevents it getting clogged with dust. Helps to prolong its life if you have pets

I guess it depends on the size of the air purifier you need or how often you need to change the air in the entire space. I have a couple of the [IKEA Starkvind tables](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/starkvind-table-with-air-purifier-stained-oak-veneer-dark-brown-smart-30501958/#content) and a [Winix C545](https://www.winixamerica.com/product/certified-refurbished-c545-air-purifier/). I linked to a refurbished Winix because that's what I bought. I think the Winix is too expensive at the regular price for its size and the IKEA tables are priced decently considering they're functional furniture. In both cases they clean smaller areas, but will eventually change the air in a large space with the Winix doing I think 1700 sq ft in an hour. The Winix integration is cloud based which isn't for everyone but the integration works well. the IKEA models are Zigbee and can work with the IKEA integration if you have their hub or with a generic Zigbee dongle. The filters for the Winix model are inexpensive enough with multiple choices on Amazon, the IKEA filters don't have a generic and you have to get them from IKEA. I think they're about $60 a set delivered, a few bucks less if you have an IKEA nearby.
r/homeassistant • Best Air purifier in 2025? ->I use a Winix C545 and IKEA starkvind purifiers. They're decent and the Winix filters aren't very expensive. Still RabbitAir makes some of the best purifiers out there and they're expensive but Google says there is a HA integration for some of them. If I could spend the money I'd buy one for sure.
r/homeassistant • TODAY - The best air purifier for home on the market? ->I'm using a Winix C545, mostly because it was really cheap as a refurb and some IKEA starkvind table units.
r/homeassistant • Best Home Assistant Smart Air Purifiers? ->Any filter with a charcoal filter layer will help some (Winix is one brand commonly available at Costco...I also have a more elaborate Rowenta)...my Winix came with multiple charcoal layer replacements. Dealing with total incontinence here, and not to criticize your MILs efforts, but you might want to look into the actual sources of the odors. Chairs, clothes that sit around waiting for wash, previously soaked furniture or carpet? If bedding or fabric furniture smells and you can replace it, do so. I use a combo of Depends on my father, and all his sleeping or seating surfaces have a first layer of puppy pee pads (Costco has large ones that work well and are cheap), and then a fabric layer on top (whether sheets or a chair cover or towel, tucked into the sides of the chair). Once he's wet, after I changes his pants all clothes and chair covers and bedding goes in the wash (3-5 loads a day). For the mattress you can find on Amazon washable mattress covers (the whole bed ones don't work that well but that's my base layer and then a thicker more absorbent one that I fit across the middle section of his bed, and on top of that layered dog pee pads). So again, not sure if any of this advice helps but this method works for me.
r/CaregiverSupport • Air purifier for urine smell ->If you're a Costco member, they have the Winix C610 on sale with an extra filter for $99 (the extra filter is worth $70, so it's a good deal). If you're not a Costco member, you can buy [refurbished Winix purifiers](https://www.winixamerica.com/product-category/certified-refurbished-air-purifiers/?_gl=1*tsy8w2*_up*MQ..*_gs*MQ..&gclid=CjwKCAiAiaC-BhBEEiwAjY99qBGYqJQG-wTbsW0msEEpxK5xXmUi4ssVWTFjvlcqFofMeGsMakKboBoCn7AQAvD_BwE) starting at $69. I bought the C545 in January and it's been nice? Noticed so much dust caught in the dust filter after a month.
r/AirPurifiers • Just basic a** air purifier ->Winix seems to be the play here. I have two and they seem to work and are common enough for filters to be inexpensive. The prefilter is easy to clean. I did recently have a DOA unit but the replacement was easy through Amazon.
r/AirQuality • Air purifier ->I have the Winix. No issues to date. I don't use the plasma wave feature.
r/AirQuality • Can someone help me decide between these two purifiers please? ->I also have a Winix, not sure of the model number. It seems pretty good, I've had no problems with it other than it has gotten noisier over time, especially on the "sleep" mode.
r/goldenretrievers • View on Reddit →I like my cheap filtrete for white noise in the bedroom, I have two winix filters in my office and living room. Both have huge filters and prefilters that are cheap to replace. I used consumer reports to pick them out. Honeywell uses small filters and I wouldn't recommend them unless it's a very small room.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I bought 4 of the Winix C545 directly from Winix on the refurbished portion of their site. They have a prefilter and a charcoal filter before the HEPA filter. I run them on full blast all the time because I live in an old house and I have dogs. They pick up a lot of dust. I'm pretty happy with them, they've helped my allergies a lot.

r/AusRenovation • View on Reddit →We have a Winix C545, works great. The Costco near us sold literally thousands of them during the forest fires a couple years ago.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Winix is one of the better ones. When it comes to buying air purifiers, look for the companies that have been around for a long time to ensure replacement filters won't suddenly become unavailable or unaffordable.
r/Costco • View on Reddit →I prefer winix , filters are good and cheap to replace ,
r/AirPurifiers • View on Reddit →I like my WINIX for these larger particles. It has a cleanable pre filter, charcoal filter and the hepa. I vacuum the pre filter weekly to get the cat fur off. I also use an old germ guardian that was my best buddy in a musty old office I worked. It's still a great unit just louder like a fan so I use it in the bedroom as white noise now It's worth mentioning a reminder to change the home furnace filter if you have one. I tend to change mine every 1-3 months during high allergen or fire seasons.
r/AirQuality • View on Reddit →It takes me two minutes to swap out filters in my Winix every few months.
r/homeowners • View on Reddit →Go straight to the Winix site and get a refurb C545 refurb if possible. I bought 3 of them for $89.99 each.
r/Costco • View on Reddit →I would buy whatever Winix fits your budget and space. My two Winix units are 11 years old with 24/7 use and still going strong!
r/AirPurifiers • View on Reddit →Yup we have several, one in our living room, one downstairs, and one in our bedroom. The Winix brand is good and sometimes Costco has them on sale. In our bedroom we have a smaller Levoit. It helps keep the air fresh, helps manage cat hair and dust, and of course is nice when it's smoky out 🥲
r/TwinCities • View on Reddit →That Coway should not be over the Winix. The carbon filters in it are trash. Also, Dyson combo unit on the list? 🥲
r/AirQuality • View on Reddit →I like the Winix. Bought three. One became noisy after 3 months. Returned and bought a new one to replace. Thank you Costco - this is why I spend thousands in your stores!
r/Costco • View on Reddit →AVOID DYSON AT ALL COSTS!!! They look cool but are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced for what you get. Spent $500+ on one and my cheaper Winix outperforms it by a mile. Total marketing scam.
r/buyforlifetips • View on Reddit →I have a Winix in my bedroom that's been running 24/7 since ~2010.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Whole house or room? Room I like winex, legit, Dyson. Whole home not sure. Make sure it's a hepa. See what size particles it can remove. Most of mine do not have carbon filters. I thought the carbon would make a big difference for smell but so far it does not. FYI it decreases dust which is great! Less cleaning to.
r/homeowners • View on Reddit →Winix from Costco/Amazon for about $130 completely neutralized the smell of a bunny cage for almost a week (between changes). Bunny and cat pee are similar, so I bet it would work.
r/AirPurifiers • View on Reddit →I have pretty bad allergies and woke up frequently with hay fever so I bought a Winix C545 for my bedroom--it worked perfectly and I never woke up sneezing again! However, I recently got a cat, and he's been shedding more and more. The hay fever has come back, and I don't think the C545 is strong enough for pets. I was considering getting the Winix C909 to tackle this. I don't really want to spend more than $200 if I don't have to, and I've heard good things about the C909. Has anyone with pets gotten a C909 and had a good experience with it?
r/AirPurifiers • View on Reddit →Winix is a solid air purifier, but not this model. This only uses a thin filter, no charcoal. The true HEPA rectangular ones are not that much more but work so much better.
r/Costco • View on Reddit →There's only one correct answer. Winix Air Purifiers bought on sale at Costco. They're excellent & under $200. Buy generic replacement filters on Amazon.
r/homeowners • View on Reddit →I prefer winix products, they do there job , nothing fancy

r/CaregiverSupport • View on Reddit →I've had my Winix for nearly a decade now and it's still working great. I love it and recommend it to everyone.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Winix works great ! I have 2. Zero complaints.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →We got the Winix ones and have been using cheap replacement filters from the web. No issues so far. We now have 3 as you could buy refurbs from them for like $50 a few years ago. Been running 24/7 for the most part.
r/Costco • View on Reddit →I bought this model directly from Winix refurbished, it was 69.99 at the time, not sure about now. I have 4 of them, they work great.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I 2nd the Winix recommendation. I replaced 5 pricey Milas that all broke after a year with 5 Winix C545 US units 2 years ago...best decision ever.
r/Home • View on Reddit →We've loved our various models of Winix found at Costco for bunny cage and litterbox.
r/AirPurifiers • View on Reddit →Winix C545 for the win! Best one with auto mode and app support. Also costco gave year worth of free filters.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Get a winix. Costco carries them and it's on sale right now. Comes with a 2 year supply of HEPA filter. You can keep the ionizing feature off if you wish to do so.
r/AirPurifiers • View on Reddit →I have CoWay and Winix, Winix kicks on more frequently.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Seven years. The oscillating feature manes noise now.
r/homeowners • View on Reddit →I love my Winix especially the feature that tells me when my dog farted before I even realize it (light turns red)
r/CleaningTips • View on Reddit →I went through 11 or 12 Milas (originally bought 5) that all had bearings issues or capacitor failures. I finally broke down and bought 5 Winix refurb C545 units for $69 each 2 years ago....best decision ever! They are super easy to clean, I can get off brand filter refills that are a bargain, I love the app scheduling options....they just WORK in silence and it's so great to actually forget about them because they aren't constantly breaking. It felt like I was actually cheating on Mila when I finally threw in the towel. However, I wish I had done it sooner instead of just prolonging the torture. Coways are great machines...I'm sure you'll love it.
