Coway - Airmega 400S

Id say no, proprietary airfilter. I use [https://cowaymega.com/products](https://cowaymega.com/products) and get 3rd party filters to replace it. I also turned it into a fan by using plastic vacuum hose.

Coway has a better reputation than the models Costco carries. Love our Air Mega. Bought directly from Coway at a steep discount. Just have to wait for sales.

I would also say my Coway Airmega is one of the best investments I have ever made. It's amazing how much it can grab and filter out. They say the filters should last a year, but we have it constantly running in a larger room and probably change the filters every 3-6 months. Closer to 3 when we have the AC wall unit on blast thru the summer. We've also had terrible Smokey days from the Canadian wildfires in my area and when I last replaced my filter, it was almost black so it was working hard! 2 years of having it and no issues.

They aren't going to price match 400 price for 400S. The price of 400S hasn't changed.

I recommend Coway. Just make sure you are paying attention to the sq ft coverage.

मैं दो बार Coway (कौवे) बदलवा चुका हूं अमेजन पे। पहला Box बुरी हालत में आया लौटा दिया, उस समय 800 का cashback था। फिर दूसरा मंगाया, उसका drum fan का एलाइनमेंट आउट की वजह से स्पीड बढ़ते हुए वाइब्रेशन करता था, वापिस। कौवों वालों से पूछा, बोले नया स्टॉक आ रहा है। आज (24.11.25) को आया नया, पर डिब्बे की हालत वही पहले जैसे, "पर इस बार outer box छोटा aur Air purifier का material हल्का है", खासकर पता front frame (air inlet side) से चल रहा है, पहले वालों में hard और sturdy था। Pre-filter भी हल्का लग रहा है। क्या किसी के पास Coway airmega है नवंबर 2025 से पहले का batch? नीचे किसी भाई ने लिखा भी है China वाला मॉल तो नहीं पेल रहे ये अब भारत में वैसे भी और देशों के मुकाबले inferior quality आती है।

Ugh. I just bought a 400S a week ago. Should I return and get the 400 instead? I do like that I can tell google to turn it on or off. But it's almost a 200$ convenience.

I've been drowning in dog and cat hair until I got a Coway Airmega 400S. Its true HEPA filter grabs fur and dander, and the activated carbon core neutralizes pet odors.

Anecdotally, I have two big Airmegas running in fairly small spaces and I can't tell a difference in air quality between when they've been running and when they haven't. I don't get what the point is.

Have the IQ air does not catch dust or similar. I ended up buying a.Blue air that does and running both. The air quality that comes out of the IQ air is excellent, but if dust is your issue, is not gonna help. Blue air smells like plastic in comparison.. tried the Conway and there was so much plastic offgassing. I returned it..

Coway airmega gets my vote. Got 2 on amazon since pademic and they've been pretty good by far.

I got some Conway ones on sale for a main level and bedroom in my house a while back. My plan was to help alleviate dander, allergens, and fire smoke. I can't say I have any empirical evidence of their efficacy, but I'm glad I have them. If you have a couple hundred bucks and no central air, I think it's worth it.

We have a 2500 sq ft home so we have several air purifiers. I went off wirecutter's list and got Coway Airmega for the rooms with higher ceilings and Levoit for the kid rooms and office (where the litter box is). We have had them for a year and I'm happy with them. They've significantly cut down on daycare illness transmission within our household. Instead of all 4 of us getting sick it's 1 kid and sometimes 1 parent per illness.

Been running coway airmega 24/7 since 2018. Replace the filter every year and bob's your uncle.

I have the Coway Airmega and an Austin bedroom machine, and they seem to be equally good. The Austin cost significantly more.

I have the Coway and had it for the last coupe of years B it I recently switched to the blueair purifier and am very happy. They also happen to look good.

I bought an Airmega for our bedroom a year ago. My wife says my nighttime snoring has almost completely stopped. We ended up being so happy with it we bought another for the DR/LR.

I have a Conway Airmega for my chicken brooder (chickens create a ton of dust as they grow, and they have to be inside for a few weeks cause they don't have feathers yet) and it really cuts down on the dust.

FYI: the fan on the microwave can still help, there is usually a carbon filter that will need periodic replacement. I just placed a Coway 400s next to my 3D printer. The carbon filter definitely helps when I am printing ABS filament. I also have some older 6 fan Shark towers that are now discontinued. They don't have carbon filters, but still helped a great deal when cooking. For my Cuisinart electric grill, I have a smaller Shark cylinder next to it. When I grill salmon it quickly goes into low air quality (red) mode. The other units on the first floor (two Shark 6 fan towers) also go red and max filtration. Bottom line is that I find air filtration works well, but it does take some time to exchange enough air to reduce the cooking odors. Maybe a half hour with 2 large and one small unit running in auto mode. I think that two well placed Coways would probably exchange enough air to eliminate the odors fairly quickly. Put a smaller unit in the kitchen on the countertop near the stove for even more air exchange.

I've got a Coway airmega in our bedroom, and a BlueAir in my office at work. I love both of them... I'm a therapist and work in an 8'x10' room talking to people for an hour 5-6 hours some days. I think the BlueAir is a big reason why I haven't picked up any of the respiratory stuff some clients have come in with (well, that + vaccines + mindful hand washing/sanitizing). It's also pretty quiet which is important to me. I'm planning on picking up another BlueAir or two for the rest of my house this spring. The pricepoint is kinder than my Coway, and it's much quieter.

huge fan of Coway Airmega. filters last a long time, it has a mesh prescreen you take out and clean every 3 weeks or so, and it's both quiet and has a good CADR. And it's very slim and doesn't take up much space!
