Coway - Airmega 250

Have the IQ air does not catch dust or similar. I ended up buying a.Blue air that does and running both. The air quality that comes out of the IQ air is excellent, but if dust is your issue, is not gonna help. Blue air smells like plastic in comparison.. tried the Conway and there was so much plastic offgassing. I returned it..

I got a Coway Airmega because it was highly reviewed on the Wirecutter website after my previous Levoit broke after only a couple years and wasn't fixable (circuit board inside was fried).

We have two Coway Airmega units, one on either side of the house. They have been on 24/7 for several years now. Maintenance and cleaning are very minimal. Cost is about $150-200, although there are larger units based on how big of an area you need to filter. We are very happy with them! Whichever purifier you choose, I highly recommend you look into one with a replaceable HEPA filter. Other filtration methods just won't give the same results.

Buy the Coway air mega it usually goes on sale pretty often. 10/10

Coway airmega it's excellent. I have mine going 24 hours a day and it senses everything. It also filters the tiniest particles.

I have 2 Coway airmegas that are super quiet that I've had for nearly 2 years. Do you change your filters regularly? Only one I would not recommend is Winix-I had one of the smaller models and its noise was very inconsistent and it was poorly constructed compared to the Coway Airmega and the Honeywell Whispure (a tiny model).

Anecdotally, I have two big Airmegas running in fairly small spaces and I can't tell a difference in air quality between when they've been running and when they haven't. I don't get what the point is.

I've got a Coway airmega in our bedroom, and a BlueAir in my office at work. I love both of them... I'm a therapist and work in an 8'x10' room talking to people for an hour 5-6 hours some days. I think the BlueAir is a big reason why I haven't picked up any of the respiratory stuff some clients have come in with (well, that + vaccines + mindful hand washing/sanitizing). It's also pretty quiet which is important to me. I'm planning on picking up another BlueAir or two for the rest of my house this spring. The pricepoint is kinder than my Coway, and it's much quieter.

I've had Coway AirMegas, Winix, and Whirlpool Whispure, and Coway is by far the best home purifier in my opinion. I have an AirThings air quality monitor and a dust allergy, and these filters make a difference. You do need to clean the Coway prefilter regularly, but it's easy to do. I didn't know they sold off market filters so I'll have to look into that because the filters can be costly.

I have the Coway and had it for the last coupe of years B it I recently switched to the blueair purifier and am very happy. They also happen to look good.

Id say no, proprietary airfilter. I use [https://cowaymega.com/products](https://cowaymega.com/products) and get 3rd party filters to replace it. I also turned it into a fan by using plastic vacuum hose.

huge fan of Coway Airmega. filters last a long time, it has a mesh prescreen you take out and clean every 3 weeks or so, and it's both quiet and has a good CADR. And it's very slim and doesn't take up much space!

You seem to understand what you need. You took into account your high ceilings which is good. Most CADR is measured with the average 8 foot ceiling so your numbers are higher which you already posted. Keep in mind CADR is measured at maximum fan speed, so you'll want a purifier that can deliver CADR over your actual square footage so that way you can run the units at medium speed. Some people run them at max, but most do medium since it's a tolerable noise level. Since you've been on this sub, I assume you know that purifiers are only good to clean the air in the room they're placed in. They don't clean air in other rooms because of the way air moves around homes, which isn't much. I'm no expert and I'm kinda new to purifiers too and there's much more knowledgeable people on this sub. I can't speak to other brands, but I like my Coway Airmega 250 that I got. It says it covers up to 930 sq. Ft. And 2 air changes per hour in that amount of space at max speed. I find that the unit may be a little small for the area I'm cleaning which is the living room and kitchen. I keep it positioned between the 2 and it takes longer to clean the air in each room positioned like that vs. being placed in the actual room, but it gets the job done I feel like and I'm happy with it. Not sure how much help that was, but I would look at the Coway Airmega series. Pricy, but good units. I haven't tried any others but I know air doctor is good but very expensive. Good luck

I've been loving my Coway Airmega 250S for over a year now-super quiet, catches dust and pet hair like a champ, and the air just feels fresher, especially in the bedroom. Filters last forever too if you vacuum the pre-filter regularly. Totally worth it if you're okay with the upfront cost!

Highly recommend coway airmega 250 which is out of stock on their website but in stock on Amazon. I bought used like new for a little under 300 US which as of this comment used like new is still in stock. My partner has severe asthma to dust and cats, he was waking up nightly having full asthma attacks. Since we've gotten it a week ago (we run it most of the time) he hasn't had a bad asthma attack. The used like new was brand new for me, it just came in the wrong product box (no original packaging). It was recommended to me here by /u/UncleGurm who is the air pro-ifier.

Air purifiers can't go into other rooms generally speaking, so you will need multiple purifiers. Whatever room they're in you can expect the air to be exchanged regularly, but even with a good one in the hallway it would barley exchange the air in the rooms because of the way air circulation works. Having fans going in rooms and pushing air into the hallway to get purified is one solution, but the best solution will be multiple air purifiers. If I were you, I'd get a purifier for the computer room and bedroom. I have a pretty small house and I have a Coway Airmega 250 and I love it. I keep it between my living room and kitchen and it does a good job of purifying the air in those rooms. Sometimes I take it to my bedroom at night. It's kinda heavy but it's easy enough to move

Coway has a better reputation than the models Costco carries. Love our Air Mega. Bought directly from Coway at a steep discount. Just have to wait for sales.

We have a 2500 sq ft home so we have several air purifiers. I went off wirecutter's list and got Coway Airmega for the rooms with higher ceilings and Levoit for the kid rooms and office (where the litter box is). We have had them for a year and I'm happy with them. They've significantly cut down on daycare illness transmission within our household. Instead of all 4 of us getting sick it's 1 kid and sometimes 1 parent per illness.

I would also say my Coway Airmega is one of the best investments I have ever made. It's amazing how much it can grab and filter out. They say the filters should last a year, but we have it constantly running in a larger room and probably change the filters every 3-6 months. Closer to 3 when we have the AC wall unit on blast thru the summer. We've also had terrible Smokey days from the Canadian wildfires in my area and when I last replaced my filter, it was almost black so it was working hard! 2 years of having it and no issues.

I have a AirMega 250 and another cheaper unit in my "cat room" (opposite side of house). I prefer the AirMega in bedroom not as light polluting. I change the filter once a year and its around $80 for the unit.

why not go for airmega 250 coway instead of 150? It has bigger coverage and it would better cover your bedroom space. If considering Xiaomi, go for simple 4 (not the pro) since pro has ionizer which generates ozone ( not good) philips- not sure how is the filter availability situation presently but I have heard in the past replacement filters were not available easily Qobo- no idea Dyson- not needed, coway or Xiaomi can clean the air as good as Dyson
