Honestly if you are comparing between a toaster oven and an air fryer I would get w/e is cheaper and takes up less space. I would maybe look into one of those ninja foodi 6-1 (or w/e brand is available) were you can also saute and slow cook so you have more breadth. In the grand scheme of things they are gonna cook things more or less the same when it comes to the baking/broil/air fry

I've had a ninja foodi grill one for years and it's still good. I will keep it for many more years, possibly decades. Got it on eBay for much less than retail and it shipped from the manufacturer, somehow. I think $150? Well worth it. I use wax paper liners in it to make cleanup easier, also worth it.

I have I think this exact one although I got it many years ago so it might be different now https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ninja-Foodi-4-in-1-Indoor-Grill-with-4-qt-Air-Fryer-Roast-Bake-and-Cyclonic-Grilling-Technology-Black-Stainless-AG300/882305312 It doesn't get too hot on the outside and goes up to 500F in grill mode. It's pretty big at least it would suit a family of 4.

Given all the research you’ve already done, you’ve probably seen that giant comparison database of air fryers floating around Reddit [here, I bookmarked it](https://www.reddit.com/u/MaterialisticOcelot/s/AuYboNaNB6). It’s super handy if you want to line up the details down to the very last spec. I personally have the Ninja Foodi and really like it, but I wouldn’t really consider it a “budget” pick since it runs close to $200. That said, I do think you get what you pay for with these. I’d be careful about going under $50 on an appliance you expect to last.

I have the Ninja air fryer grill. It cooks steaks great. Comes with a grill plate and the temp goes up to 525, if I remember correctly. I just cooked a ribeye and was perfect. Model is AG301

I have a Ninja foodi and a Ninja toaster style air fryer. I love the Foodi for home fries and baking small cakes and as a rice cooker. I use it nearly daily. We got the toaster style one for toasting bread, for roasting vegetables, and baking small pizzas. Like every appliance, you have to consider your space and what you cook. For us, it's been great.

Foodi pressure cooks just fine Depends. Any device with "air fry" mode is going to be a compromise compared to a real air fryer. Personally I find the Foodi's two lid system to be clunky and annoying to deal with. I pretty much just use my convection oven instead of the foodi. I use a stovetop pressure cooker myself. But I definitely wouldn't recommend the foodi for mainly pressure cooking because the air fryer lid is permanently attached. So that would be pretty much always in the way.

Absolutely I have Ninja Foodi Smart XL Grill and we use it nearly everyday day you can grill chicken with nice charr in about 15 minutes or less I make it for salads, chicken teriyaki, for chipotle style burritos, you can definitely make steak, french fries come out just like they’ve been deep-fried you can toast sandwiches literally everything bagels use it like a toaster over makes great grilled cheeses reheats food very well.

I like the Instant Pot much better. I got a Foodi as well, but am trying to resell it as I don't think it's as nice or useful. Plus the materials aren't as quality. The pressure cook option in my Foodi sometimes doesn't work whereas my 3 IPs always do and are really easy to clean. The Foodi has the Air Crisp option which is pretty nice, but not worth it for the sheer size of the Foodi. It's a beast and very heavy.

Ninja foodi is my holy grail. I’ve had it for 5 years. I do everything with it. I couldn’t recommend a better one. Super plus is you can remove the cooking basket and wash it. It’s not connected to plastic. Easy to clean. Lots of function. Pressure cooking, baking, dehydrating, slow cooker, air fryer. List goes on.

the question is what ypi are after,. most air fryers do work and from my experience mechanicals have a tendency to do better in certain things, here are a few I have, I have at least 4 brands in my home and would be doing a test soon of them: [Philips](https://s.shopee.ph/6psbzlCuSe): probably easiest to use in the mechanical setting, it has a button to remove the tray so you wont get burned, takes a abit of time to preheat, i alwatys wait 5 minutes para umabot ng temp, everything is manual, can handle a lot of things but due to it being manual, you have to do the calculations yourself. very easy to clean, good enough size that you can place anything inside, temp is adequate. trays easily removed. all in all, this one has lasted the longest. [Instant pot](https://s.shopee.ph/1qTw2Y1H7v): if you want something to remove the guesses, this is the one, daming kayang gawin, ive done sundried tomatoes, meals, whole chicken, this thing will tell you when preheating is done, it will tell you to switch the chicken upside down, it will tell you halos lahat, timer is good, malakas yn tunog to tell you you have to do this or that. ito naman cons nya, number 1, yn tray you need to remove it directly, di tulad ng iba. ano con is that rubber yn sa gilid nya pero parang tunog nagscratch pagninilgay mo pero overall its a master of all. [midea](https://s.shopee.ph/5q04noOHtg): mechanical as well quite cute, the temp controls are just dials, handles well, first time used had plastic smell, removed aftgter 2 times use, easy cleaning not digital, so you need to wait for preheating, i do 5 minutes, descent size not great [ninja foodi](https://s.shopee.ph/7V8In0Rlyt): probably the one one that can do grilling properly but dang it is expensive, lots of removable parts and good quality, takes a bit os space though, does grilling and airfrying well pero not that much sa iba, expensive affiliate link posted with pictures of the units. i have more air fryers at home. https://preview.redd.it/7y8mbik0g4zf1.png?width=3099&format=png&auto=webp&s=981d61c6389d836deddc9c2b09e6a78c9134175c

We have a ninja foodie, that I can’t use anymore. It’s mostly used for fries and chicken nuggets. We used to cook bacon in it and it was delicious. I am going to buy myself a small air fryer for fries and chicken nuggets. I like crispy nuggets and they do not get crispy in the oven. I really wanted a small ninja foodie but they don’t make them anymore.

I bought a used Ninja Foodie off of Offer Up and was surprised that I find myself using all of the functions, especially the air fryer and pressure cooker. What great about he slow cooker is you can first saute stuff in the same pan/bowl that you will slow cook in. If you are in a rush you can pressure cook instead and everything comes out great.

What you're speaking of aren't actual air fryers, because pretty much every air fryer doesn't have a top and bottom element. It wasn't until ninja ungraded their foodi GRILL I think in 2023 to have an element on the top and bottom. Which they have done for some of their products now, which none of them are an actual air fryer. Before they added the second element, what I said is the truth and is how they're operated with the functions. Any actual air fryer, how I said the functions work is how it operates. You're simply talking about a product that isn't an air fryer.

I bought a Ninja Foodi on sale for $189 and it lasted 4 years until the lights wouldn't come on in it anymore. It still fried and toasted at least 2 times a day everyday though. So we bought the same model again since the lights are not replaceable. Not technically BIFL, but we think it is worth every penny and inch of counterspace it takes up.

I've seen the dual zone ones recommended before. Personally, it either cuts the usable area down so you can't do large things, or it makes the air fryer too big. Our air fryer recently died and needed to be replaced. We don't have as many of the name brand options where I live but ninja is available. Picked up the foodi grill because it looked convenient to use and it is head and shoulders above the old drawer basket style we had. It preheats faster, seems to circulate the air a bit better so things are crispier and it's so much easier to load things in and take things out. The grill plate works pretty well too. I'm not a huge ninja fan, but this air fryer makes me willing to at least consider the ninja brand for other things. There aren't too many occasions that we would need two different things cooked in the air fryer. Either it is being used for the protein, in which case the sides are getting cooked on the stove, or I'm using it for a side in which case the main is cooked on the stove. Or I'm reheating some leftovers and nothing else is getting cooked.

The air fryer is not replacing my microwave, but it makes cooking so much easier. And cleaning it is no biggie since i have a dishwasher. The one i have is the Ninja foodie which has a removable bowl. Lately i microwave my frozen rice and air fry my frozen and already cooked chicken that I previously made. It’s so darn good.

I have this one too! Even without dishwasher its so easy to clean since its a non-stick bowl so a few gentle swipes makes it clean in like 3 seconds! I just cook, take out food, quick rinse and done! Easy-peasy! So convenient because you can cook other stuff in it like soups, roast, rice, even yogurt (i didnt get to yogurt part, too complicated😂)! Same gadget, less cointer space! I love my foodie!

It’s amazing honestly I love it it has so many options, 2 racks, a light, half way turnover timer, tons of cooking options such as baking, roasting, broiling etc. it also doesn’t have PUFAS/ PFAS or whatever all that stuff everyone is concerned about. The top rack also doubles as a cooling rack. It’s a bit of a pain to clean but that’s the same thing with most air fryers since they need ventilation holes in the surfaces to effectively circulate the hot air. The window is nice to be able to see your food. It’s a pretty nice size, enough to put enough food for 2 adults and 2 kids. It also comes with a cool little laminated air frying guide that shows about 60 different foods and how long to cook them for, what temp etc. it’s definately better than your typical chef man and lower end fryers priced at this range but if you’re looking for something a bit nicer around $120 I recommend the ninja foodie.

I've been soaking it with the dawn powerwash spray because I am lazy but I am worried it's going to ruin the coating. I wish we could use the paper but there's no way. Our ninja machines are so different than the other air fryers. I like making the boneless skinless thighs in the marinade that includes Greek yogurt, but I find the yogurt is the worst with getting burned and stuck.

Yeah this is the same reason I don't really use my Foodi. It's also very loud whereas my Instant Pot (I happen to have 3) are quiet as a mouse. For pressure cooking alone the Instant Pot brand beats Ninja out imo. I prefer the basic IP models, as they are really good at what they do, alas the Ninja does more. I like the air crisp option on my Foodi but I'm not sure that alone is worth it. Bacon and burgers are really good in it after pressure cooking but chicken is gross on that one I learned. Ninja just doesn't excel to me in pressure cooking as it sometimes doesn't come to pressure at all. I'm actually trying to sell mine after only using it a few times.

Are you in the US or a different country? I'm starting to wonder if it varies by countries as someone from the United Kingdom indicated that the UK ninja rep said all their fryers have toxic coatings. Im in US. They said today to me because I asked about the ninja foodi 4 n 1 grill I bought in 2019: "This unit was and still is PFAS and BPA free. The inner basket is also ceramic coated, nonstick, and PTFE and PFOA free for easy cleanup. Dishwasher safe." Hard to know what to trust !  I'm thinking that I need to buy an updated replacement basket that is guaranteed pfas free by them in current day since , I don't know what they were doing back in 2019.
