Ninja - Foodi FD101

I have the Ninja Foodie. It can grill, bake, dehydrate, roast, and air fry. Nine times out of ten, I will be using it especially in the summer when I don't want to turn the oven on.

I have the ninja foodie and it's a 10 in 1. Bake, air fry and toast and pressure cook are the main functions I use. I just started to use the dehydrator, kinda neat

Foodi pressure cooks just fine Depends. Any device with "air fry" mode is going to be a compromise compared to a real air fryer. Personally I find the Foodi's two lid system to be clunky and annoying to deal with. I pretty much just use my convection oven instead of the foodi. I use a stovetop pressure cooker myself. But I definitely wouldn't recommend the foodi for mainly pressure cooking because the air fryer lid is permanently attached. So that would be pretty much always in the way.

I have two Ninja air fryers that don't have teflon. A Foodi and Foodi 6 in 1 (it toasts, air fries, etc).

Any air fryer is a "convection cooker." The "air fryer" name is a sales gimmick. Just like the "instant pot" label is a gimmick for a pressure cooker. I have owned a Breville Smart Oven for several years and would buy another one. I also have a Ninja upright in my second home. I like the Breville better, but the Ninja is fine. I cook a lot. I have a high end stove with a convection oven. If it were me, I would keep it. The Breville does everything that your toaster oven does, but better and faster. It also can roast and bake without having to use your regular convection oven. Of all the countertop "convection" ovens, it is probably the best. This was a very thoughtful gift from your relatives. As far as cooking with it, we love chicken wings. The Breville cooks the best chicken wings fairly fast and better than a regular convection oven and roasts vegetables beautifully. (Probably because of the smaller cubic area.) Also reheating on the Air Fryer mode is a game changer, much better than your microwave. To use it well, you do need to familiarize yourself on how it works. Watch some YouTube videos where the Breville is used. Read the instructions so you can learn how to use the various modes. Familiarize yourself with it before making a decision to return it and by all means, go ahead and treat yourself to a carbon steel wok as well. It is not an either or proposition. You deserve both!

Given all the research you've already done, you've probably seen that giant comparison database of air fryers floating around Reddit [here, I bookmarked it](https://www.reddit.com/u/MaterialisticOcelot/s/AuYboNaNB6). It's super handy if you want to line up the details down to the very last spec. I personally have the Ninja Foodi and really like it, but I wouldn't really consider it a "budget" pick since it runs close to $200. That said, I do think you get what you pay for with these. I'd be careful about going under $50 on an appliance you expect to last.

I've use a Insta Pot 2 quart air fryer. It worked great for me for 5 years. I just replaced with a 5 quart Ninja. Besides being larger which is no biggie cause it's just me, I have problems with stuff blowing around in the Ninja which wasn't an issue with my Instant Pot AF. Also, the old Insta Pot AF had a roast option. I noticed most but not all portable models, no matter the brand, replaced the bake option with dehydrator. Perhaps there are folks who do dehydrate, but I personally don't know anyone interested in such a feature. I'm thought about gifting the Ninja and going back to a Insta Pot AF EXCEPT the model Ninja I have has a ceramic coating which I love and is supposedly healthier than Teflon.

Yeah this is the same reason I don't really use my Foodi. It's also very loud whereas my Instant Pot (I happen to have 3) are quiet as a mouse. For pressure cooking alone the Instant Pot brand beats Ninja out imo. I prefer the basic IP models, as they are really good at what they do, alas the Ninja does more. I like the air crisp option on my Foodi but I'm not sure that alone is worth it. Bacon and burgers are really good in it after pressure cooking but chicken is gross on that one I learned. Ninja just doesn't excel to me in pressure cooking as it sometimes doesn't come to pressure at all. I'm actually trying to sell mine after only using it a few times.

I have this one too! Even without dishwasher its so easy to clean since its a non-stick bowl so a few gentle swipes makes it clean in like 3 seconds! I just cook, take out food, quick rinse and done! Easy-peasy! So convenient because you can cook other stuff in it like soups, roast, rice, even yogurt (i didnt get to yogurt part, too complicated😂)! Same gadget, less cointer space! I love my foodie!

We have a Ninja Foodie - it bakes, toasts, broils, air-fries...

We have a ninja foodie, that I can't use anymore. It's mostly used for fries and chicken nuggets. We used to cook bacon in it and it was delicious. I am going to buy myself a small air fryer for fries and chicken nuggets. I like crispy nuggets and they do not get crispy in the oven. I really wanted a small ninja foodie but they don't make them anymore.

I don't have this one but I have a Ninja foodie that does air frying, and the fan is pretty loud. P.s. how was the pool party 🤣

I haven't had much success in baking, my usual cookies were nice but a little greasy. We have a small tabletop oven / air fryer combo we use for baking and pizza, but the Ninja foodi is used every day.

I have a Ninja Foodi air fryer that is still going strong after 5 yrs of usage and it is still geting use multiple times a week.

Yeah I got a ninja that's the pressure cooker/air fryer 2 in 1 machine and I love it. It air frys really well and the pressure cooker is better than I thought it would be. I use it quite a bit. You just have to preheat it for the air fryer but it only takes a few minutes. It's very consistent so you get a good feel for how long you need to heat stuff

Ninja foodi is my holy grail. I've had it for 5 years. I do everything with it. I couldn't recommend a better one. Super plus is you can remove the cooking basket and wash it. It's not connected to plastic. Easy to clean. Lots of function. Pressure cooking, baking, dehydrating, slow cooker, air fryer. List goes on.

Sadly I can't say I had the same experience with the Ninja Foodi (first one broke after two years, the second one not even one year). I really liked the air fryer pressure cooker combo but yeah, can\`t say I\`m too happy with the quality build (the cable going from the board to the lid through the hinge is a known failure point now).

You're relative sounds like a tool. It's a nice product, but it's very weird and rude to me, for someone to just buy an appliance for your home. It's expensive enough that you feel obligated to keep it, but many people don't have room for that type of thing. It's just weird, like someone coming into your house and just hanging a large picture on your wall. As for the appliance itself, it can be useful. It's not a fryer. It's a high powered convection oven. It does a very good job of oven things, but faster. It's a decent replacement for a toaster oven, if it's shaped that way. We have a ninja foodi with a pressure cooker attachment. It's good, but we probably under utilize it. It's also a little small. So it's sometimes awkward to get everything in. You aren't cooking for a crowd with then either. It's good for a couple of people, though. It does a great job in reheating things that don't typically reheat well. Pizza, fried foods, etc.

I bought a used Ninja Foodie off of Offer Up and was surprised that I find myself using all of the functions, especially the air fryer and pressure cooker. What great about he slow cooker is you can first saute stuff in the same pan/bowl that you will slow cook in. If you are in a rush you can pressure cook instead and everything comes out great.

We have a Ninja pressure cooker/air fryer combo. It works great.
