Given all the research you've already done, you've probably seen that giant comparison database of air fryers floating around Reddit [here, I bookmarked it](https://www.reddit.com/u/MaterialisticOcelot/s/AuYboNaNB6). It's super handy if you want to line up the details down to the very last spec. I personally have the Ninja Foodi and really like it, but I wouldn't really consider it a "budget" pick since it runs close to $200. That said, I do think you get what you pay for with these. I'd be careful about going under $50 on an appliance you expect to last.

I just got the ninja dual zone air fryer whilst it was cheap on amazon, really impressed with it, great for speed and doing the kids dinners quick after school, not had it long and im doing a roast dinner tomorrow, not even going to attempt it all in the air fryer, going to stick with my oven for that

I'd recommend the Ninja Dual Foodie, it has two drawers so you can only use one drawer for a small amount, or both for larger or different things.

So I have two air fryers. Both are ninjas. One is single and one is dual. I do agree the single is better. It's really convenient to have three air fryers when making something like air fryer chicken, roasted veggies & fresh french fries. I can make all three at the same time and eat at the same time. Super convenient. Also if making wontons and spring rolls. I have a pretty busy job, a young child & a husband who doesn't cook. So for me worth it to have all. I also have enough space in my kitchen.

I have had mine over a year now and the stainless color on the handles is fine. Editing to say I have not put mine in the dishwasher though and I am assuming that may be the cause.

Bought the ninja 13-in-1 flip toaster oven second hand for $100 and it had replaced my microwave and dual tray ninja air fryer almost entirely. Actually, I haven't used the air fryer since I bought it, which was four month ago. The microwave I use to reheat leftovers, like soup, mash potatoes, that won't reheat well in the toaster. It has also pretty much replaced my conventional oven except for when I'm doing big batches or baking something that won't fit, like a cheesecake.

Yup I did a post on mine several months ago. Definitely takes more time when cooking with both sides and it can be hard to figure out timing. I wish I stuck with my single one.

Aggravating_Court_40 • 11 months ago

I just mean in the sense that it cooks a lot slower using both sides vs one so have to figure out timing for stuff to be done. It isn't the usual times I would set when using just one side. Apparently this is an issue in the US due to voltage from what I was told numerous times on my last post. Just wish I knew before I got it. If you're in the US and this one takes just as long when you use both sides, you're lucky I guess. 🤷♀️ i have much longer cook times using both sides than I do with one, or with my one basket ninja I used to have.

I had a Foodie for a few years until it stopped working. It was a great pressure cooker and a decent air fryer but I am much more satisfied with separate devices now.

Honestly if you are comparing between a toaster oven and an air fryer I would get w/e is cheaper and takes up less space. I would maybe look into one of those ninja foodi 6-1 (or w/e brand is available) were you can also saute and slow cook so you have more breadth. In the grand scheme of things they are gonna cook things more or less the same when it comes to the baking/broil/air fry

I have that Ninja model and can run just 1, with or without the other basket. I just soak the basket with hot water and dish soap overnight after use and it takes 90 seconds to wash in the morning. I prefer to keep my nonstick items out of the dishwasher... And those liners detract from some of what the AF has to offer in experience and outcome with the heated grill adding to the cook.

We have the ninja dual but don't like it. Baskets are small and it is great to make two things at once the quantity for those two things is small so I want to go back to a larger one basket.

Double basket ninja. It's the best I've ever owned. Do not go for the cheap recommendations, I used to have a cheap gournia and another cheap brand (both were ~50 bucks), not very consistent, didn't cook all parts at same speed, etc. I love to cook everything in my ninja, lately I've been into cooking frozen steaks, better than sous vide etc and much easier and leave the best crust

Yeah, we're in New Zealand (we got pretty much what Australia gets), but even our versions of the Ninja models are under 2000W, which is disappointing. Most other decent brands are like our old one, but we're unfortunately limited to what the one chain store has, as the warranty compensation is in the form of a store voucher. My Wife and I have spent the last few hours Googling everything, and have at least decided against the Stack. We originally ignored the Phillips 3000 as an option, given that it has one large and one comically small basket, but apparently it's one of the best. So currently we're looking at that first, if it can fit a few specific things we eat often in the tiny drawer, then the Flex, then Dual Zone. They have the single drawer 6L model of our old NutriBullet 8L (two 4L), and contemplated just getting two, which would solve pretty much every concern, be most flexible, and likely last another couple of years, except it'd start to cause space issues (tiny kitchen, very limited power outlets). Another common concern we've seen mentioned is that Ninja models have very poor quality nonstick, which often starts peeling with little use. Other brands that this store has are either expensive for single drawers (Sunbeam and Breville), or things like Westinghouse, which apparently never stops smoking. In any case, we'll get the same 3 year care plan, which is instant replacement on any goods under $500NZ.

Ditto, although I have the copper coloured one which (angrily) isn't the same shade of copper as it is on my ninja kettle. I never dishwasher mine. Just stand for a while after use with hot water and a squirt of fairy liquid in it.

This model of ninja is inherently flawed as an airfyer and the heating element is at the back. Reviews show it can lead to uneven cooking. If you have the space opt for the side-by-side ninja dual basket one, it goes up to 240C as well.

Have a Pampered Chef and a Ninja dual , the ninja is useful for cooking two different things but the Pampered Chef just outperforms the ninja in every way! We use it 3-4 times a week and have had it for 5-6 years.

I sometimes reverse sear with my AF. 60 min at 50C, finish off in a hot pan with tallow.

Yea, and I find benefits there too. The outside will be bone dry, so all moisture is completely gone. The inside will never exceed 50C so with a quick sear you get a good result. Ive never measured weight loss but I assume it is very minimal. All fat does stay with the meat as there is no fat in the fryer. Due to the absence of moisture, there is no hissing in the pan, so the sear is quick and even every time. Porkchops usually get the same treatment but at 60C. Cleanup involves putting a rack in the dishwasher which is manageable on lazy days :) I have a ninja AF300. Great machine. I can make spare ribs from raw, 4 hrs at 90C. But it isnt as good as the bbq.

we have the ninja side by side. it works fine. you can operate both sides as one, if you want. and you can set both sides to finish at the same time if they have different settings. i don't like that you have to manually pause it if you don't want hot air just blowing out when you open a basket and it doesn't have a reminder to flip like our single basket Instant Vortex does.

Unfortunately we for some reason get the lower wattage US models when it comes to the Ninja brand, despite getting higher wattage Aus/UK/NZ models for most other things, like our old NutriBullet being 2300W, and the one Phillips model the store has being something like 2750W.

I have a Ninja foodi and a Ninja toaster style air fryer. I love the Foodi for home fries and baking small cakes and as a rice cooker. I use it nearly daily. We got the toaster style one for toasting bread, for roasting vegetables, and baking small pizzas. Like every appliance, you have to consider your space and what you cook. For us, it's been great.

Ninja is an excellent brand. By far the best? I would have to say Cosori is probably equally as good. Typher is much higher build quality. But the Ninja DZ201 Foodi 6-in-1 2-Basket Air Fryer is an excellent product. I think most air fryers are made to be pretty affordable save for the Typhr, Breville and Dreo. Other than those I think most of the zillions of air fryers on the market range in price from around $74 USD to $200 USD.

I was honestly skeptical about getting another kitchen gadget I figured my oven was enough. But the [Ninja Quart 6in1 Air Fryer ](https://x.com/SmartBuyFinder/status/1961356172402852186)changed my mind. You can cook two different foods at the same time and they're both ready together. Super convenient, no need to stand by the stove. Food comes out crispy without oil and I use it way more often than I thought I would. It speeds up cooking and is so much easier to clean than a regular oven

Foodi pressure cooks just fine Depends. Any device with "air fry" mode is going to be a compromise compared to a real air fryer. Personally I find the Foodi's two lid system to be clunky and annoying to deal with. I pretty much just use my convection oven instead of the foodi. I use a stovetop pressure cooker myself. But I definitely wouldn't recommend the foodi for mainly pressure cooking because the air fryer lid is permanently attached. So that would be pretty much always in the way.

Yeah, I have a dual basket Ninja and I don't recommend it. Whenever you cook with both baskets it just doesn't have enough power for that so it cooks way worse, so you end up just always using only 1 basket.

No, we live in New Zealand. I don't even think we have Consori (Philips, Consori, and Insta Vortex are supposed to be the best, but we have very limited Philips, and couldn't find the other two). I think the Ninja line is a bit underpowered, as they're only 1650W, even for the massive Flex model. Compare that back to smaller ones, like our old NutriBullet Twin and the Philips 3000, which both have 2300W+. Even NutriBullet's 6L single drawer is 2300W.

If you're making an entire meal in it, like a protein and vegetables, the dual/double basket is a great way to go. I have one and make our entire meal in it at least once or twice a week. We got a Ninja foodie, which has a "smart finish" option so that you can have things with different cook times, but you can set it so everything finishes at the same time.

I tried that one and didn't like it. Baskets are small and it's less efficient when using both baskets. I went with an Instant Dual Vortex instead, the two baskets are much bigger and running both baskets at the same time does not reduce its efficiency. I love it and use it for almost every meal I cook at home, and I think the dual basket makes it much more useful because I can cook my entree and side dish at the same time.

I think it depends on the appliance. some toaster ovens have airfryer qualities and are big enough to roast a chicken. the air fryer i have is a ninja foodi dual basket, so it has two separate baskets that I can cook at different or at same times. it has an airfry setting, a roast setting, a reheat setting, and a dehydrate setting. its my favorite appliance in the whole house! I use the reheat setting for reheating things like fish or steak, and I've been using the dehydrator setting a lot lately to make jerky and dog treats. I don't really use the roast setting since it's just an airfry setting that just isn't as strong in crisping things. I have the 8qt size and while the appliance is really big, the baskets aren't all that big, but it's enough for me and my husband. for a family I would definitely get the biggest size, which i think is 10qt I've grown up with a toaster oven before with just the basic function (and not very big) and all we used it for was honestly just to reheat pizza slices lol. I'm sure there might be really cool ones out there now but I think a really good airfryer with all the bells and whistles is much more worth it. it makes cooking so much easier with a lot less mess making too.

Seconding Ninja. I've had the double basket for years now and it works flawlessly after running it at least four times a week. Before I had that I had a Kitchen Aid convection toaster oven that failed and caught fire internally. Ninja is my go to brand now. I got their blender-food processor combo about a year ago and (despite sounding like a jet taking off) it's the best blender I've ever owned. It laughs at crushing a full pitcher of ice.
