Definitely the Breville Smart Oven, it has a ton of space which is super useful for cooking bigger things like chicken.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->I gave up on air fryers after consistently getting stinky ones with burning plastic smell that never improved. Finally got the breville toaster with air fryer functionality. It s slower than an air fryer, but a lot more versatile. I use it instead of oven in summer. Also a lot faster to heat up even in winter.
r/Cooking • Should I buy a microwave, toaster oven, or air fryer for my tiny kitchen? I can only pick one..... ->Save up and get a Breville Smart Oven, if you can.
r/AussieFrugal • Airfryer oven/ toaster oven single person ->Breville counter top. Love mine, I haven't used my oven since I got it. We keep the house very cool and the proof setting for bread is a game changer. Roasted veggies awesome
r/BuyItForLife • Best Air Fryers to Buy? ->They are more expensive than the standard bucket type air fryer, but Breville "Smart Oven Air Fryer" is pretty solid. Great oven for smaller portion meals, toaster, broiler if you need it every now and then, and does a good job at air frying too. Note: air fryer instructions will take slightly longer than advertised on packages because heat isn't as concentrated as the "bucket style" air fryers. Just a lot more versatile than the basic air fryer, but like I said more pricey as well. Currently $320 on Amazon, but I use ours a lot more than I do the oven just because it's smaller and faster for most things.

Second this. Mine exactly fits a 9x13 pan with handles, which is perfect. However it is not very good at making toast, so don't replace your toaster. However I have heard mixed reliability; I don't expect it to last "for life" but barring a lemon, it would definitely last more than a year. Mine is three or four years old, used at least five times a week, and still doing fine.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Airfryer to Buy Right Now? ->Second Breville - I have the Smart Oven Air and it excels and everything.
r/Sourdough • Does anyone have any recommendations on toaster ovens, air fryers, or countertop ovens for sourdough baking? ->Another vote for Breville. Have one of the smart ovens, and it's been used daily (sometimes multiple times a day) for a little over a year now without issue. It's been flawless. It's so good that my full size oven is rarely used.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Air Fryers on the Market to Buy Now? ->Yup 100%. We use it almost everyday instead of a traditional oven as a traditional oven takes a long time to heat up. If I had a do-over I'd get the larger Breville unit. Also we don't have a microwave. I just huck stuff in the Breville and set the timer and forget it. I've never done much raw stuff in it other than to roast vegetables. But works great for that as well.
r/Frugal • Looking for recommendations - toaster oven air fryer combo ->Breville and I have had the Ninja. Breville can be a mini oven, proof bread, toast, broil, airfry. It is much easier to clean too.
r/Frugal • View on Reddit →Because they will airfry, but they will also do everything a big oven can in terms of baking, roasting, broiling, etc. Some of them even have features such as keep warm and dehydrate. Since I purchased my Breville unit, I rarely use my full size oven unless I need to do something really large (Ie a turkey).
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I love my Breville Smart oven, very versatile. A bit painful to clean.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →A high end countertop (toaster) oven with airfry function (eg Breville smart oven) will be.FAR more versatile for you.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →FYI, the Breville Smart Ovens aren't very good air fryers. At least the larger ones aren't. But as an oven they're top notch. I literally have not used my regular oven in over a decade because the smart oven I have is all I need.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I've owned the Breville Smart oven. Air fryers in general are toaster ovens and a lot more. With the toaster oven versions you get the best of both worlds. The Breville if it's got a pizza setting used to love it for making homemade pizzas and frozen pizzas. I replaced my Breville for a Anova steamer oven which I hardly never use the Steam function lol. Anyway it's a good air fryer oven your family member got you well worth every penny
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →Agree with this brand. Had a Cuisinart for years from Costco and the dials never worked correctly. Switched a year ago to Breville and it's been great. We toast bread almost daily, my husband proofs his bread with it, kids can use it easily for snack foods, and it great for side veggies with dinner. We are a family of 5, so needed larger size and multifunction.
r/Frugal • View on Reddit →I'm in the same boat and btw, Amazon has that Cosori in black for $10 less. I have had the Breville for about 7 years and it's an incredible oven and toaster. It's above average air frying fries, nuggets and dry things, but is awful for wet (like marinated food) or fatty (wings, burgers, chops...) food. The issue is the heating element is also on the bottom and grease just gets all over it. Their mesh basket also sucks to clean.
r/airfryer • View on Reddit →We went with the smaller Breville Smart Air fryer Toaster Oven-just the right size for our smaller kitchen-I hardly ever microwave anything. If I make soup or stew and have leftovers I pop them in the fridge in the dutch oven and reheat on the stovetop.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I've loved the breville air fryer/oven combo. Toast perfectly bagels vs waffles/toast. And you can fit a whole roaster chicken extremely- it keeps it extremely juicy
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →OP, I've been down this rabbit hole. Just know that the Breville smart ovens are nice products, but they're jacks of all trades but masters of none. It is a worse air fryer than just about any standalone air fryer and worse toaster than a normal toaster. If you are satisfied with your ability to roast and toast with existing equipment, but want to add the ability to air fry, get a single purpose air fryer. It'll likely cost less too.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I have a Breville smartoven with air-fry function. It gets 90% of the air frying results, but can do far more other things, like bake, roast, dehydrate, broil...
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →Congrats on considering an upgrade! The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer is a fantastic choice - the stainless steel finish does give it a sleek, high-end look. How's the performance so far?
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →This is the answer. My breville has over taken my oven. Unless I'm roasting a Turkey there isn't much that I do in the oven any more.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →Eight minutes and turn it to the darkest setting! 🤣
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I agree with the above commenter! I have a Breville Smart Oven and we have been using it for 3 years now almost daily. As a bonus it saves money and time vs having to heat a larger oven. https://www.breville.com/en-us/shop/ovens
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I absolutely adore my Breville Smart. It has replaced my oven. However, I do use the basket style air fryers for air frying. Far superior results for actual air frying. The Breville can do a good job of air frying, but because you have to protect the elements the heat can't get to the food properly. If you don't put something underneath a drippy food it's a really bad scene.
r/airfryer • View on Reddit →There have been many posts searching for a "non-toxic" air fryer. Don't really understand it. I am extremely chemically sensitive but I have absolutely no problem with teflon coatings. Haven't seen any posts about health issues with teflon with their air fryer other than the obvious ones such as the coating failing. Top reviewed fryer is the Instant Pot Vortex Plus 6QT. It is relatively cheaply made so the LCD display is failing but I can still use it. Double baskets have limitations. The Breville oven style is a high quality expensive product but not as good at air frying.
r/AirFryers • View on Reddit →We currently have a Breville countertop oven that we inherited from a relative. It's a great appliance, had it 4+ years now with no problems and it does a bunch of stuff besides air frying, but it's also pretty expensive. Before that we were happy with our Power XL oven-style air fryer. I always advise people to get the air fryers with shelves rather than with baskets because they are more versatile and easier to load and clean.
r/BestofRedditorUpdates • View on Reddit →I've been gradually switching most of my appliances to Breville because I really like the brand's quality and having matching pieces at home. The Smart Oven Air Fryer, which is 30% larger than the Smart Oven Pro, would be my pick. I found a great resource on another subreddit where you can [compare the specs of different air fryers](https://www.reddit.com/user/No-Competition-5766/comments/1i5jdq2/air_fryer_models_comparison_spreadsheet/). Worth checking it out when comparing options.
r/airfryer • View on Reddit →I have the Breville, it has air fryer baskets that can also be used for dehydrating. It's a very useful appliance. ATK rated it the best toaster oven/air fryer combo.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →We leave things on top that don't get hot like a metal cooking tong to pull things out after cooking, an air fryer basket when not in use -- so I don't think it would be an issue.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I have a number of Breville products. They are very high quality and I assume their combo oven/fryer is the same. Combo ovens do not do as good a job as dedicated air fryers. Personally I got the top rated, unfortunately cheaply made, air fryer. Wanted a good one and I will replace it when needed.
r/airfryer • View on Reddit →I just bought a Breville Smart Oven & I absolutely love it! It does lots of things including air frying & slow cooking.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I have had a Breville Smart Oven Air for 6 years and owned the predecessor Breville Smart Oven for \~7 years prior to that. The reason I had 2 of them is the 1st broke and was un-repairable (believe me, I tried). The Smart Oven Air is an amazing oven. I use it 90% of the time over my Viking oven (which is also great, but takes \~20 minutes to preheat). However, as an airfryer, the Breville is limited. You cannot do high fat products (like wings or ribs or burgers without all of the grease falling directly onto the heating element. Same thing for liquid marinated food (e.g. chicken). Even air fried broccoli leaves little burnt bits on the heating element. Also, the grate is a PIA to clean and I just keep it dirty. It's an amazing oven and does everything extremely well, aside from air frying (where it's a solid B-).
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I absolutely love mine! Mine is garbage for toasting, but amazing for anything else from air frying to plain baking. It's very handy to basically have a second small oven.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I have the breville smart oven air, it's not a great airfryer. But it's so much more versatile. I use mine for making bacon in the morning, roasting vegetables, I've even put my entire 7qt Dutch oven in there and slow cooked carnitas and made caramelized onions. Cooking frozen pizza works nicely as well. We've also made beef jerky in there and char sui too. It's also great as a warmer to hot hold things like when I smoke a brisket.
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I bought a Breville toaster oven that is also an air fryer and love it. It even comes with a proofing option for bread. A+
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →I have the breville smart oven and I concur. It's a great second oven especially during the holidays or summer heat (I keep it in our attached garage) but every time I "air fry" something I always think this cannot be it. Then I purchased a ninja flip air fryer/oven for our place Up north and that was much better but still have the same thought it cannot be true. Now I'm considering the Ninja Crisp for the house. What do you think of that model?
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →It is a smaller oven that takes up bench space ... but it's so much easier to throw something in, set program, timer, and temperature, and just wait for the BEEEEP that tells you that dinner's ready. It's small, so more energy efficient. My "avoid anything cooking-adjacent apart from the washing up" husband will happily use it for simple stuff. And also, it's easier to clean. The whole base of mine just slides out and goes in the dishwasher. I only really use my main oven if I'm cooking for more than just two now. I have one of these - [https://www.sageappliances.com/en-gb/product/bov860](https://www.sageappliances.com/en-gb/product/bov860) \- and I love it so, so much.

r/Parenting • View on Reddit →There is no such thing as "buying for life" with appliances. Lost count of the number of refrigerators, dishwashers and ranges I've had to replace over time. Buying higher quality items, such as the Breville smart oven, will reduce the frequency of replacement. Might make it to 10 years but the Ninja likely would not. Drawer air fryers are almost always going to be better than an oven air fryer. Most are cheaply made though and will fail sooner. My well reviewed Instant Pot is already on the way to the grave after a few years as the LCD display is failing. As for drying out depends on what you are cooking. Cooked chicken legs last night. Since they have a lot of fat no problem with it drying out. Crisp skin and moist interior.
r/airfryer • View on Reddit →My old Breville lasted 10-11 years, I got the new one 3 years ago with the air fryer option ... if it breaks tomorrow I would figure out how to get it again - I seriously love it.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I second the Breville Smart Oven. Mine is 5 years old and still works fine.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →I went with the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer, and it not only performs well but also adds a sleek, modern look to my countertop with its stainless steel finish. While I haven't personally tried every brand, I've heard solid things about Ninja and Cosori models too.
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Any air fryer is a "convection cooker." The "air fryer" name is a sales gimmick. Just like the "instant pot" label is a gimmick for a pressure cooker. I have owned a Breville Smart Oven for several years and would buy another one. I also have a Ninja upright in my second home. I like the Breville better, but the Ninja is fine. I cook a lot. I have a high end stove with a convection oven. If it were me, I would keep it. The Breville does everything that your toaster oven does, but better and faster. It also can roast and bake without having to use your regular convection oven. Of all the countertop "convection" ovens, it is probably the best. This was a very thoughtful gift from your relatives. As far as cooking with it, we love chicken wings. The Breville cooks the best chicken wings fairly fast and better than a regular convection oven and roasts vegetables beautifully. (Probably because of the smaller cubic area.) Also reheating on the Air Fryer mode is a game changer, much better than your microwave. To use it well, you do need to familiarize yourself on how it works. Watch some YouTube videos where the Breville is used. Read the instructions so you can learn how to use the various modes. Familiarize yourself with it before making a decision to return it and by all means, go ahead and treat yourself to a carbon steel wok as well. It is not an either or proposition. You deserve both!
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →If you have the space I love my Breville air fryer/oven combo I joke that if we ever had an emergency evacuation I would grab that over the kids🤣 It's nice bc you can do big basket/trays of food. Also it cooks a whole roaster chicken extremely nicely If you regularly cook this can easily replace 3 appliances...
r/BuyItForLife • View on Reddit →Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer. It does everything- air fry, toast, bake, reheat, keep warm, etc. I use mine in some capacity every single day. Size is pretty good too, can't remember the last time I had to turn on my large oven. Also, it's easier to get things in and out of than the air fryers with the "buckets."
r/Cooking • View on Reddit →2nd this suggestion. Loved mine so much I bought one for my parents because it's so convenient
