The go ultra is the current king of tiny cameras. I like the ace pro 2 but it's a little bigger. But for your battery life requirement you might need the action 5 pro.
r/Insta360 • Help me decide ( insta 360 go ultra/ DJI osmo action 5 pro/ osmo action 4/ace pro 2) ->**TLDR: 360 camera for the least amount on work in the moment. PM me I can private share you some of the videos I've taken of my kids so you can kind of see what it will be like** I have multiple young kids and am often watching them all by myself. I'm also a gear addict so I've tried all of the types of cameras you are looking at and use them all, but if I were to pick one camera to bring with me it would be the 360 camera. So overall, I recommend the X5 or X4 Air (which is lighter and cheaper, but a little less image quality and less battery life as a tradeoff). While 360 camera, you can kind of set it and forget it and then pull out some moments later on your computer/phone whenever you have time (i.e. when the kids are in bed). Insta360 desktop app offers "deep tracking" which lets you pick a person and it will do all the processing for you, although you need to let it run in real time. The mobile app has something similar and against you just kind of pick a face and let it work on the video. There is a new app that is polarizing, but supposedly you kind of let the app do most of the work for you (again with face tracking). You can either hold the camera on a selfie stick, or set it up on a tripod on a table (that's what I do for birthday song videos), clamp it to your stroller, or even stick it on your backpack and just have it start recording - **because it is recording a spherical 360 video of the entire scene, it will always get something** \- although ideally it is 3-10 feet away from you or your kids otherwise they will be kind of small in the frame. After that at night you can scrub/fast forward through the long video and cut out a few clips that you like. Sometimes if there is a stationary object that changes over time (a birthday cake disappearing as it is eaten or a sand castle being built) and I will turn the video into a timelapse by speeding up the video. If that feels like too much work, the X5 has "Me Mode" and "InstaFrame Mode" which does all of this in camera and gives you are video that is ready to share (although you still might want to trim it a bit). "Me Mode" automatically crops from the spherical to a 16:9 4K video that tracks down the selfie stick which pretty much guarantees you will be in the video (since you are holding the selfie stick). You can also flip the direction so Me Mode so that instead of recording whatever the handle of the stick is pointing at, if records whatever the stick is pointing at (think of it like a magic wand) that makes it very easy to make sure your subject is in the video frame when recording. "Instaframe" basically focuses on the first face it see and keeps tracking that throughout the video. The drawback is that I think the resolution is lower (1080p) - overall, that is one of the major tradeoffs you are doing, the **video quality from a 360 camera is always going to be less than the other types of camera for the flexibility in subject framing.** In terms of gear, just starting need the camera and make the 2-in-1 tripod-selfie stick. Maybe get a clamp mount so you can clip the 360 camera to your stroller (or backpack shoulder strap). So that's the 360 camera. There is also the small POV camera. Those are great for hands free videos, but I ironically find they take more mental work because you need to consciously setup the framing a lot more (i.e. have the camera mounted on your head/chest, turn them on and try not to shake your head or shirt too much and you might point the camera too high/low). They are great for 5-15 second clips though (I record it playing with the kids whether it is tag, frisbee/ball with the kids, or just hugs). There is less battery life though so I am personally more judicious with using them. Between Insta360 Go Ultra and the DJI Nano - I recommend the Ultra because it has a SD card in the camera itself. The DJI Nano stores the video to internal memory, which then you need to manually transfer to the SD card in the docking module because it won't store to the SD card directly (source: http://dji.com/nano/faq). Finally there is the Osmo Pocket 3, that has the best video quality, the best stabilization and pretty good subject tracking... but with it's not so wide angle view I found it require the most fiddling with. It is good if you can set it on a table/tripod at home and then select your crawling baby as a subject and just let it play, but I like the faster option of setting up the 360 camera and just pressing the record button (quickcapture will turn on the camera and start recording in like 2 seconds and then turn off the camera when you press record again).
r/Insta360 • Help me pick a camera for a young family ->I have an iPhone 16 pro and have been using it on the daily. But I like the Go for being a little less in-your-face when I'm vlogging in a shop or restaurant. I also like the feature of the Go automatically taking photos in set intervals during the day. It's an easy way to capture a diary of a busy travel day. I just upgraded to the Ultra for the battery life and the removal SD card.
r/Insta360 • Why get Insta360 go Ultra for travel vlog if you got iphone 15 promax ? ->I use an Insta360 Go as I can pop out the tiny camera bit and mount it on my helmet. It only does about 40-45 mins like that but that's enough for my commute or if I'm with others. Really nice quality. For longer rides I mount the whole thing underslung on my handlebars.
r/ukbike • Good dashcam-style cameras to cycle with? ->Oh agreed on the app, I just use it to export videos and do any editing on my PC. The mounts aren't entirely magnetic on mine, they just help guide either the full unit or just the camera 'puck' into some physical clips on my handlebar mount or my helmet one. Haven't had a crash yet but it happily stayed put on a rugged mtb ride.
r/ukbike • Good dashcam-style cameras to cycle with? ->It's actually for me. I love Ray Maker's reviews but I think he is looking at this from his perspective (naturally) but not what many users may have. Ray is a full time reviewer of tech equipment and a growing YouTuber so he is willing and able to use larger cameras to get exactly the quality he wants and is also willing to own extra smaller cameras just for behinds the scenes B roll footage. On the other hand I'm just a middle aged guy documenting my travels and "adventures" that I use the term loosely. I very much want a small POV camera that doesn't draw too much attention from others (ok maybe my wife who will think I'm ridiculous lol) but still has all the features of a regular mainstream action camera and the quality of it too. You might see in side by side images that the Ace Pro 2 (and I'm sure even more so in the coming Ace Pro 3) that it still has the edge but after looking at countless examples side by side in 4K now it sure looks like the Ultra is 95% the same image and I'd never be able to tell if not side by side. Swapping batteries for a regular guy like me isn't a big deal because I'll likely never film more that a couple hours in a day and if I do the fact this can charge via a power bank to 80% in under 15 minutes makes it for me a non factor. You could argue the answer is to own both a regular action camera AND a smaller GO camera but I don't want to bring multiple cameras on a trip etc. I feel finally with the GO Ultra I have fun POV and magnetic mounting options built in and when I want I can use it as a conventional action camera and all with no real noticeable loss in quality vs the big boys.
r/Insta360 • DCRainmaker delivers the first serious GO Ultra review with Ace Pro 2 proving better in image quality and low light... ->The Go Ultra is exactly what you want.
r/Insta360 • Best Insta360 for cinematic city videowalks (low-light, 4K/60, chest-mounted) ->Absolutely you can use it 200 minutes non stop in the hub as a more conventional action camera.
r/Insta360 • 📷 Insta360 GO Ultra Mega Thread 📷 ->Purchased it and most of the accessories. This will be my primary action camera replacing the Ace Pro 2 (which I'll sell). The smaller size and ability to get even smaller with the camera pod yet maintain excellent image quality is the reason for the purchase. I do have a 3S I likely will also sell but I have to admit I'm tempted to keep it just for running bill of the cap uses since it is much lower profile (doesn't look like a headlamp) but I suspect I'll still sell it and embrace the bigger size on my hat. The size elsewhere is not a factor for my use cases and being thinner than the 3S things like wearing it on my shirt etc I think look actually better.
r/Insta360 • 📷 Insta360 GO Ultra Mega Thread 📷 ->I bought Go Ultra yesterday... Have a bikepark trip this weekend, couldn't wait longer so pulled a trigger I will report here with any "issues" I come across (hopefully not many) As for privacy, ah well... I know what you mean, but IDK if there's such outside main brands and offering decent quality.
r/MTB • DJI Osmo Nano or Instra360 Go Ultra? Share your thoughts, use cases ->Thanks for reminding me to leave a comment! Initial impressions when I just opened the box was: "Wow, that small?!" How the hell? What? Sooo small. Even to this date I am amazed by the size. The magnet is very strong. It helps with slotting it in to the pod, also to hold on the pendant. Video quality more than sufficient for what I will use it for. A lot of recording modes and manual settings. Settings are all laid out super easy and screen is very responsive. Button control easy as well. Now on to actual recording: you need some time to get used to the chimes (sounds) and what which means if you camera is mounted on helmet. If camera is 'sleeping' and you start recording you need to realize when it finishes it goes back to sleep so you cannot 'talk to her' (to stop/start). The battery life of camera is not long. You need to keep that in mind and occasionally check battery level. In bikepark this wasn't a problem while on lift. You need more %%, pop it in to the pod. Few things what Internet does not say: Studio 360 (PC app) does not have AI help. Studio 360+ the Cloud storage - does not have AI help Only Mobile app has ability to compile you videos and it does it quite fast and results are good. When it does that you go in and edit further to your liking. To me biggest dissapointment is that PC application does not have AI as Mobile app has. Imho, its ridiculous. Adding speed (and other stats) overlay is very easy, albeit I already found 1 bug and reported to them (on PC Studio 360 it does not display Speed data). Overall 9/10 happy with the camera. I wont post any links to video as internet is full of the quality of it already :) (I recorded always with a recommended Biking preset 4k30fps Action FOV). Hope this helps, if you have ANY questions, hit me up.
r/MTB • DJI Osmo Nano or Instra360 Go Ultra? Share your thoughts, use cases ->That's a valid concern for sure! This Go Ultra looks to have 'protective' lens over the main one. Hopefully I never need to experience it's toughness
r/MTB • DJI Osmo Nano or Instra360 Go Ultra? Share your thoughts, use cases ->I have a GoPro and use it nearly every ride. I only notice the extra drag when I turn my head to the side. If you care about image quality, chin-mounted is the way to go. A camera inside the shield will catch glare. Also, the Insta 360 Go does not have a removable battery. You want removable batteries so you can easily swap them instead of having to carry an external battery pack. Safety-wise, my opinion isn't based on any hard facts, so take it with a grain of salt. I don't think action camera compromise the safety of the helmet as long as you use an adhesive bonded mount. These mounts are not designed to sustain an impact. It would easily tear or break away in a before it does any damage to head or neck. They also have the added benefit of recording evidence in case you're in an accident with another driver. Motorcycles are the striking vehicle more than 9 times out of 10. Without video or witnesses, it's your word against theirs. You'll want footage to prove your innocence.
r/motorcycles • What are your thoughts on helmet mounted cameras? ->I'm a Photographer who recently got into videos. I have to point out that the Insta 360 video quality is nowhere like the mirrorless cameras I've had, BUT, it's really about the spontaneous moment captured with it and not the quality that I'm impressed of. I've found footages of myself in the moments of serendipity that I know I will never achieve with any of my mirrorless camera unless somebody is following me around with it. I also tried the Osmo Pocket but I certainly love the convenience of the Insta 360 more because you can choose which frame, back, front, up or down you want to finally edit for posting. Really helpful the 360 view.
r/Insta360 • Should I buy insta 360 x5? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS

In that case, I would choose for a pro. It has the best low light and civilization and censor. But you are saying you also have a Samsung Galaxy S 22+. Not sure how great the footage of that is. But personally, my favorite to go cam is really the Insta360 Go cameras. You just record in manual. It's really not that hard. You just wear it on your chest using the magnetic pendant. And whenever there is anything you would like to record you just press the button and it starts recording. It's really easy to use and it helps you to get an additional layer of footage that you would otherwise miss out on.
r/Insta360 • Travelling to Turkey this December and i am planning to rent a camera. Let me know your thoughts. ->Go 4 ultra is vastly superior to the Go3s, I've got both along with 2 more of the original go 3
r/CompetitionShooting • View on Reddit →I firmly agree that you have several cameras and several mounts. Mounts are what made GoPro what it is today. I really hate that my Ultra & X5 can't use the same mount, and you had a chance to consolidate mounts. I'm waiting on 3rd-party companies to fix the mounting mess.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →It's only mono. Despite the claims, you have to put the camera in the pod, then buy and connect an external stereo USB mic, in order to get stereo sound - unlike the Go 3 / 3S or any other modern action camera. And the resulting rig is no longer small. A dealbreaker for me.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →Because the camera on the Ultra pops out of the pod, it is much smaller than a typical action cam or your phone and can therefore be a bit more discreet. It is also a lot more flexible than your phone in terms of placement and the types of shot you can get. You might find yourself thinking more creatively! The image quality is good enough to mix camera footage with phone footage. And as others have mentioned, if anything happens to the camera, it will be a lot less of a pain than if something happens to your phone.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →Hi op, one issue is you'll now no longer be waterproof. I use the DJI mic 2 internal recording inside my helmet to a GoPro 13. You can check the sound here. [action camera with DJI mic2 inside helmet no wires retains waterproofing](https://youtu.be/y7ENSoDiaUg?feature=shared) Use the mini as the second camera, the 11 black as your main. I have a 13 as main and either an action 4 or insta 360 as handlebar.
r/gopro • View on Reddit →Not at all, used it for a match last week on the regular hat clip and couldn't tell the difference to my other go cameras! The battery life is incredible in comparison and 4k 60fps is a nice plus! Low light performance is a night and day difference to the previous versions, excuse the pun!

r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →I've been thinking of getting a go 3s too - just because of the price and accessories. They even had just the pod available - which is what I really want so I can have one pod charging and one pod mounted/recording. I may get the creator bundle for the ultra - which comes with a lot of mounts instead - since I'd have to have two different mounting systems if I got the 3s. The creator bundle isn't shipping until mid September at best. It's not a bad dilemma to have but I really was waiting for the go systems to have swappable memory. And now that I typed all this out - I'm going to get a second Ultra.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →If you want connivence, go with Insta360 Go Ultra, you can do POV video and regular vlogging easily with a small tripod or a pole to get more background. The camera unit itself having magnetic back opens to some play with angles that would be otherwise not possible or required specific equipments (E.g. magic arm plus clamp). The equivalent from DJI is not yet matured enough to compare to Insta360. If you want more image quality (not a big jump from Ultra, but still a jump), ruggedness and swappable battery, then Insta360 Ace Pro II. Alternatively, you can go for DJI OSMO Action 5 or Pocket for more post production flexibility. If you want the upmost quality, you can go with Canon V1, slightly bigger sensor than M43 (much larger sensor than for phone or action cameras) and it zooms. If you want to go even further, you can go with Sony ZV-E10II for being able to swap lenses. No point going with GoPro nowadays, their tech is in general lacking behind either DJI or Insta360.
r/Cameras • View on Reddit →Insta go is a standard for a reason
r/CompetitionShooting • View on Reddit →I have to suggest the 360 cams. Based on what you want it for. Its really the perfect tool to capture quick moments. Not having to frame the shot, being able to just put it on a tripod and let it run knowing it will capture everything is a huge factor. Imagine wanting to take a quick group shot or video. U don't even need to make sure everyone is in frame. Just press the shutter. Now if u want to do like a baby FPV or have your kid hold it then yeah the nano or go ultra If not 360 cam all the way. Insta360 specifically for the editing in the app. Reframing in post edit is not that difficult once you get the hang of it.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →It's just such a mental block for me. I'd have it back in a second, but I can't fathom spending upwards of $800 on the same kit.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →It's become moronically expensive after tariffs. I'm still kicking myself for returning the one I bought from Costco for $400-ish around Thanksgiving. (Was a gift for myself in case I managed to find a job around that time, but it took me until June to do so. Still should have kept it.)
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →Just want to share, bought this go ultra today and I gotta say, video quality is almost on par with my vivo x200pro but omg photos taken on this camera are legit awful! specially indoors and at night, grainy, even in linear mode its distorted, corners of photo are blurry, kinda disappointed since I want it to replace my phone in day-to-day photography since I don't want to take out my phone to shot random scenery :(
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →Ikr!! I bought the Insta360 go ultra but I had to return. Will be buying this instead
r/dji • View on Reddit →I'm not in a hurry. Have other cameras that can tide me over in the meanwhile.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →I'd suggest you to get the Action 4. Better vfm. Can get the action 5 spare batteries for better battery life (if needed). Insta 360 is doing different ball game. It's an awesome secondary camera but not a good primary one.
r/indianbikes • View on Reddit →What the hell is that aqua lens? I love my GO 3S because it can do both normal and underwater shots, why do I now need to switch lenses to have a clear image when going underwater? (only aqualens allows good underwater img quality in GO Ultra) This makes no sense, a dealbreaker for me ...
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →I'm a Photographer who recently got into videos. r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →I'm kinda torn between getting an 3 (non S) vs the new Ultra. I don't really like the fact that it doesn't have the free frame mode like the 2/3, and I have to orient it for portrait vs horizontal captures. Does anyone know it it's possible to mount it in the pod in Portrait orientation? I like to use my Go 2 for cycling and make insta reels out of the footage. And it would be great if I could mount the pod horizontally on the bike but still be able to get portrait footage.

r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →I had the same idea this spring, and bought a go 3s and a X4 ( a month before the X5 came out.) to add some videos to my runs on Strava. Just under 30 second videos, mostly timelapses or 3-4 different 10 second videos put together. The go 3s size is great, it's light and you can put it on a ball cap and run. The run time on the camera is only about 30 minutes out of the action pod. The quality isn't as good as the go ultra, or ace pro 2 but if it's a nice sunny day, I don't think people will complain about the output of the 3s. Each camera has there strengths and weaknesses. In the Insta360 line right now the Ace Pro takes the best quality, but it's bulky. The X5 is great, but it's large too. People on Strava loved when I would take the X4 on a run and replace the sky with one of Instas canned creations. There are more creative things you can do with the X line compared to the Ace Pro line or the go line, but it's like holding a cell phone from 1994, it's ok when I tuck it into a running vest with a selfie stick, but I didn't do that all the time. I sold my X4 and have a go ultra, and the 3s (which I'll put on Ebay), the Ultra is bulkier but the output is better. I did buy the headband for the go Ultra, but feel like a fool using, it. I do have a go pro chest harness that I've used with the go ultra, but same thing, feel like a fool using it. With the 3g and a ball cap it felt more natural. Stabilization is better on the X line. Sorry for the ramble, but if you want to do POV shots, with some narration, I'd go with the go ultra or 3s. If you want to be more creative and plan your shots, and make some goofy reels, I'd go with the X5. or even this new X4 air that is supposed to come out next week. Good luck.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →Notably better sensor / better quality footage. Usable low light footage w/ PureVideo. Way better battery life. Fast charging. Removable storage (microSD, up to 2TB). 60FPS (although I don't personally bother with this). Plus you can flip the camera between horizontal/vertical mode without having to re-position it. (It's also thinner)
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →The smallness was its USP. May as well strap an go pro to your chest
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →Just got my Go Ultra. How hot is the camera module supposed to get? I'm sitting here in a 76 deg home and did a quick 2 minute test recording and it quickly becomes very very warm to the touch. Infrared temp gauge reading 128F on the camera module casing with no part under 100F. Not comfortable to hold. Anyone else seeing this? I'm wondering if mine is defective or what?

r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →Just tried it! Low light is great but tbh found the daylight footage to be way too processed and colors paler. Prefer the more natural yet saturated look of my go 3s! Anyone else feel similar?
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →I think battery life, better low light performance and removable storage makes it worth the difference. Though you gotta top up more to buy the microSD card, but now you can go even bigger than the fixed 64/128 in the Go 3S.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →insta go is great, but the battery is only going to be 35-45 mins without the camera body.

r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →So I looked up the specs on the insta360 website Go 3S maximum resolution : 4K: **3840x2160**@24/25/30fps Go Ultra maximum resolution : 4K (4:3): **3840x2880**@30/25/24fps I am asking Insta360 Technical support chat as I write this, but so far I assume that the sensor ratio is 4:3 while the 3S was more of a 16:9. So probably a bit more wiggle room than the 3S in regards to vertical free frame capability. But less than the 1:1 ratio which the 1,2,3 had. Got myself an Ultra ordered anyway. My Go 2 battery is almost depleted.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →I have the iphone 16 pro and wouldn't think of comparing video or photo to the go cameras, iphone is so much better it's not even close, but for me they differ a lot in use cases. I use my go3 when travelling and usually have it mounted on my chest using the pendant or on the back of my cap using the hat clip, one tap, start recording, record for a minute or two, compile each day into a 2 minute summary. Sometimes I mount the camera or give it to another family member, I take it to the beach, submerge it in a pool or a glass of beer etc, things I wouldn't necessary do with my iphone. I would probably go for the ultra between the go3s and the ultra because of the larger FOV and better low-light tolerance.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →Ok, after further testing... charged to 100%, recording on chest magnet mount 4K 30fps. Approx 18 mins battery down to 41%, Highest temp 151F ! Too hot to hold long. Camera shutdown with a heat warning. Any suggestions from the crew at Insta360?
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →Used ones still go for 600 bucks. I might just wait until the 4 comes out.
r/Insta360 • View on Reddit →Insta360 go. Camera and charge case is similar size of IPods Pro. Very light weight. I have a hat clip-on with a magnetic camera holder, works great. The charge case works as a remote if you don't want to use the button on the camera.
r/gopro • View on Reddit →After today's presentation I was really debating if I should buy the Ultra or get a refurbished Go 3(No S). Mainly because the 3 was the last version with a square sensor and true reframing. Now, I still ordered the Ultra. I'm still not sold on the new form factor, I'm still a bit grumpy about the reframing but: The 1/1.28" Sensor is bigger and the FOV is a bit wider than the 3S, I'm hoping that reframing will be alright to get vertical video out of it. If not and I got to be honest with myself here: I might just have to resort to just filming vertical, as I only use the footage for Instagram reels and storys anyway. While I'm still not sure that I can mount it on my helmet as good as the Go2, due to the new form factor. But I did buy the Mount from the toddler kit, which seems to have the same clip as the Cap Clip from Gen 2. And 3, which I modified as a helmet mount. And, which might actually be the biggest thing for me tbh, the ring remote. When wearing the Go2 on my chest or head while cycling, it always posed a bit of a risk to reach for the camera to start the recording, especially when going down trails. Looking forward to it now, and if I don't like it I'll just return it for a 3.
